Nice 👍🏻 Congrats on the new Model Y! I appreciate the sub. Let me know if you have any questions while watching my videos. With more than 20k camping miles under my belt, I'm more than happy to help. New travel videos coming in the next week or so.
Thanks 😀 Glad to have you along for the ride. Yellowstone, Grand Teton National Park & a few other fun ones coming up in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!
@@bryanhauer I was thinking about going to the Grand Tetons this summer but went south instead. I really want to spend time in Glacier and I'm bummed the planned supercharger in Kalispell got canceled. That would've taken away my range anxiety. There is an 8kw Tesla charger at Lake McDonald, but the app says you have to reserve it now.
@@christinaforsythe1938 Interesting. Didn’t know that. Speaking of range anxiety and Glacier… I don’t think I’ll be able to do the Glacier National Park part of the trip I planned either as there just aren’t enough Superchargers in the area and Helena is too far with my cargo box. Such a bummer.
@@bryanhauer I think Kalispell will open eventually which makes the park more reachable for everyone. I’ve also looked into using an RV spot close to the park so I can have a full charge before driving through for a day - maybe stay at the RV site two days so I can charge again before heading home. Either that or stay at the lodge on Lake McDonald so I can charge overnight at the 8kw charger.
@@christinaforsythe1938 Yep that’s the only way I figured I could do it. Will need to do a bit more planning, but I’ll try if I can figure out something like that.
Did you have the live view update when you shot this? Would be nice to stay hidden in the car and if security or someone is outside you could look at them on the phone.
Good question and something I hope Tesla adds, but I can see why they won't as it's such a small amount of people that would use it. To answer the question, no the Live Feed update was not out at this time and wouldn't work even if it was unfortunately. I had hoped it would work like this too, but it only works when Sentry Mode is active and you can't have Sentry Mode on when in the vehicle. It sure is annoying to be sleeping in the back and have to get up and lean on the center console to tap the screen to wake it up. Actually what would work best for me would be if you could turn off the sleep mode on the screen so it shows the camera views all night.
When stealth camping I usually enter at the driver door, then when ready just climb to the back. Same when I wake up. When at a normal campground I just use the hatchback which I control from the app.
At the point I filmed this video I was using a combination of 3 items, but I now have one solution that is much better and funny enough the review should be coming later today or tomorrow. 😀
@@bryanhauer My main question is probably how you use the bathroom while stealth camping. I’m guessing you have to get dressed and make your way down to the lobby? Presumably easier at a truck stops. But what about other locations? And then I’m also curious how you can shower while on these long road trips? Definitely need a full on tutorial for us newbies! 🤪
@@EliTheWolfX At casinos like this one at Caesars or the one where I'm in Lake Tahoe it's easy because they're open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with bathrooms all over the place. At other places you would usually go number 1 in a Gatorade bottle. If number 2 calls you'll have to drive to a gas station or Walmart if you're stealth camping. For showering when I camp I have a shower/bathroom tent and water jug/electric shower. I did a video on it here: ua-cam.com/video/C6TtPabMALA/v-deo.html When I'm stealth camping for a few days I'll usually go to an Anytime Fitness in the area to shower as they're all across the country including smaller towns. I also break up my camping into usually less than 5 straight days. I'll then go to a hotel for a night or two to do laundry, edit, relax.
Can't find it, know I saw it just a frame or so. Btw, with gas prices up so much, I fear more envy and keying our cars. Mine has old hardware and original computer, so can't record to usb. It does show a fake recording screen, and drains the battery anyway. We have free supercharging for life, so was a bit amazed at the "gas" price you paid. charge at home at 15 cents/kwh, so have only visited a supercharger less than 6 or 7 times.
@@jimhatch14 The free Supercharging for life is great if you do travel, but doesn't really matter if you don't. My usual Supercharging cost is around $13. Obviously that depends on the city. It's more in a city center than in rural Wyoming, but still relatively cheap especially compared to gas. I now charge for free at home here in Vegas. We have solar panels that bring in plenty of the house and charging a Model Y and 3. I feel pretty lucky every day when I pass the gas station 😀
@@bryanhauer I tried camp mode in my garage when it first came down the pipe. A year or so earlier, I was frustrated, when A long power failure happened. I just wanted to run a small inverter off yje cigarette jack, then for laptops and such but it would turn off in a half hour or so. When campmode was installed, it seemed to fo the same thing, I will look into it for more details.
I’m a very late sleeper so do you think those evenex window covers would be good for keeping the interior very dark in the morning if I get a roof one as well?
No buffet’s in Vegas at the time of filming (post pandemic). Although I did think about trying to order room service to the rooftop of the parking garage 😀
You have some resemblance to Bobby Flay! His restaurants are always overpriced but not much different than the other “celebrity chefs.” Great vid, missing Vegas!

Love how the song title is, "You should probably leave now." Hahaha
When is that?
Another new subscriber here. Got a Y last month so I’m going to do the camping thing soon. Nice video!

I really cant wait to have my model 3 peformance this month been a short but felt like forever wait
Nice! Congrats! You're gonna love it. 👍🏻
Thanks for giving me lots of ideas on how to camp out in my Tesla. Although I won’t be coming yo Nevada anytime soon, the tips are valuable anywhere.
You're welcome, Diane! Thanks for watching!
I keep looking at the Evannex shields. They work really well! Hope your trip to the mountains is/was fun!
It was. Excited about Yellowstone,!Grand Teton etc coming up 😀

How do you get in/out of the car and not be noticed?

I haven't, but could for sure. In fact, I'm probably Stealth Camping tomorrow night 😁 Good idea for a future video 👍🏻

What kind of bed, Tesla made?
It’s a combination TESMAT and a couple other things. I did a review on it a while back. You can watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/_a5jX24PI0s/v-deo.html
