You both are fantastic. So open to culture and I always think that food is a great way to learn about different cultures and experiences. Keep safe there in Miami!
The peanut sauce is actually used only on spring rolls in Vietnamese food, it's a bit of an anomaly. It's must more used in Thai cuisine. The main characteristics of Vietnamese food is that it's a light and healthy cuisine, not heavy and it uses a lot of herbs and greens.
It’s so nice to see that you know what Culantro is. Just moved to Fort Myers I had to find a Asian market yesterday to go pick some up because I love putting it in my food and making my Sofrito with it
All the food looked amazing. Just loving the series with your Dad & Ana. Miami must be a melting pot of cultures as it seems to have a wonderful choice of ethnic foods
The summer rolls and the chicken wings looked so mouthwatering. I love Vietnamese food, everything must have been so fantastic to eat. You’re both so lucky ☺️
Hanoi is the capital city of Vietnam, not Saigon. The vinaigrette dipping sauce which accompanies many Vietnamese dishes including spring rolls (cha gio), cold rice noodles, bbq meats, banh xeo (crepe), etc. is called nuoc mam. It is made of fish sauce, lime juice, garlic, chili, sugar and water. It is not a honey sauce.
Without having the mint, basil and or green onions in every bite, the experience is only a fraction of what it is when you eat it with the fresh herbs.
That is Chinese cooking style of Vietnamese dishes. BTW, the food you eat is not sold on the street actually it people daily dishes, more or less extravanganza. Vietnamese don’t have street food but household’s food. The dishes are coated with oil excessively which Vietnamese avoid. Use the frying pan (wok) mainly for every dishes are distinctive Chinese’s style. Vietnamese dishes required more time to prepare and cook in different stages. Lots of Chinese hijacked Vietnamese food then soup them up with Chinese ingredients and cooking styles. I can tell the owner (cook) is Chinese-Vietnamese. The dishes aren’t Vietnamese’s anyway.
Agree. Vietnamese food is never greasy like this... a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in the US are owned by Chinese Vietnamese anyway. As well as Vietnamese groceries stores. But these dishes look yummy nevertheless.
You should try to have the restaurant to bring you 2 to 3 dishes at a time so you at least have them hot when you start eating them. Maybe it’s just me I like my food hot, it taste better. Thanks for sharing.😊
Hi David, What I like to do with the meat balls is to dip it in chili flakes and eat it and then take some noodles with it. Try it, you might like it :-)
I have always been someone who hasn't given food and eating properly much importance all my life. But, now with so much travelling happening all over the world, the world having been reduced to a global village, I realise how important it is to be able to eat diverse cuisines and be comfortable with it, in today's world! David's been here and everywhere! Cheers!😊👍
I don't know what I enjoy more... the food, or the father/son bonding.

Pho is pronounced "fuh". Most people pronounce it "foh" the wrong way. The real way is "fuh".
Foh means a hooker in Vietnamese =)))

Perhaps fusion then ! I agree it seemed more Chinese style cooking. But the food looks delicious still.
Agree. Vietnamese food is never greasy like this... a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in the US are owned by Chinese Vietnamese anyway. As well as Vietnamese groceries stores. But these dishes look yummy nevertheless.

Your dad really did not like the all beef dish. Very polite by taking broth and later some noodles followed by half a pint of beer.
"Gỏi Cuốn " not Summer roll pl~

Beef balls? Lol interesting
The dessert looks like falooda
Vietnamese People won`t slice cucumber like that
#OP. ...
Would’ve been perfect video if you pronounced pho correctly 😂 c’mon foodie
This is not really authentic vietnamese , try Pho 79 for authentic Pho or viet restaurants in homestead
Your father seem to know how to properly eat Vietnamese food more than you. Must be that age wisdom thing.
Why wear a mask if it won’t cover your nose?
Scallion ông Mỹ nói đúng rồi, bà kia chỉnh lại thành scallious, tiếng anh đã đeo rành rồi còn bày đặt dạy phát âm cho người Mỹ
David , also if you can mention non restaurant is allow to let people eat inside , in this time is ilegal ! What you doing is only for exhibition
Different places had different rules
"FOW"
eek! It's fuh, not Pho :-)
mask issues again - not for me
