  • Boeing 777-200 Preflight Part 3 | Windshield Clean | System Checks
    After having parked in the desert for a couple of weeks the cockpit windows were very dirty and needed to be cleaned. I open the number two position window on both the left and right sides then climb out to clean the number 1 and number 3 position windows.
    I run some system tests on the MAT (maintenance access terminal) in preparation to turning on the air conditioning system.

    Seems like F/O's have more work load than the captain😂😂
    Edited: Thank You for your time Sir, I've looked for nice tour videos on an airplane. Your passion for this work is a good motivation. I understand this video was posted 7years ago, I hope you're a great Captain now!!!

      This isn't usually the job of a pilot (Neither a Captain or a First officer). I'm an FO at an airline and honestly I have absolutely no idea what he's doing here. I've seen them do it but I don't even know how to access those BIT pages or where to start with the MAT. This is usually the job of an airplane mechanic/maintenance engineer which is a job that requires certification and rating. I don't know where a pilot job would require the pilot himself to conduct this kind of ramp tests. So kudos to this guy. He knows a lot more about the airplane than the majority of pilots out here.

    Yo! Call the ground crew to clean windows. You’re an important pilot.
    You could fall out and die in winter if it’s slippery. Not to Mention rain and sleet falling in instruments.

      It's a private Boeing 777, so there's not really a "ground crew," other than tugs, fuel, water, etc. He's a flight mechanic, not a pilot - still really cool though, knowing all the in's and out's of a whole jet airliner.

    Can any tell me is it legal to clean windshield from inside cockpit using this method at 1:15 ??
    Flight safety does not permit this technique

      +Flint and Steel Survival Some places we have the ground handling company clean them for us. It is expensive to hire someone to come clean them. They have to bring a ladder truck to do it.

    Thanx, finally some PMAT and maintenance pages video. Damn, PMDG, i really miss this. I know IFLY 744 has ECAM maintenance pages and also some BITE functions, but its FPS hog...
    4:10 You can always hire me with my airgun, there will be pigeons, but they will be on the ground with a holes in their heads ;-)

      +BigIronTV Need help? lol Does the aircraft aircon system keep up with operating in regions with extremely hot external air temperatures on the ground?

    • @BigIronTV
      @BigIronTV  8 років тому +1

      Boeing T7 Yes it will. Sometimes if it is very humid and hot and we are waiting a long time for the passengers. Like 10-12 hours I will need to turn off the recirculation fans. When the air goes through the pack it has moisture removed. But then at the mix manifold the recirculation fans dump moist air taken from the cabin directly into the mix manifold. This can cause enough icing in the cockpit supply duct that it will ice shut and stop flow to the flight deck.

      +BigIronTV I though the cabin air and the cockpit air supply were separated.
