    I have bpd and cptsd and grew up with a narcissistic mother who was emotionally and physically abusive. I feel that everyone has narcissistic traits to some degree, more so in my kids 2k generation and ironically the post ww2 parent's have almost no boundaries.
    I still struggle with drinking it's not something I'm proud of and it is definitely a trigger for me and doesn't help with impulse control or emotional regulation.
    I'm glad I stumbled upon your videos, it's nice to see fellow bpd peoples personal insights and how they deal with their struggles.

    Narcissists are always straight bad news there’s no other way around those people an since I’m very empathetic an sensitive to emotions they all get attracted to me. The worst trigger is narcissists for me an any negative unsafe environment negative people. I can’t not be around those things because it’s worsens my BPD. I’m already hyper vigilant an self aware all the time I’m constantly on alert all the time I know that’s from my anxiety an it’s a big sign of PTSD an I know I have that also. 6:07 to 6:09 yes girl putting up the middle finger to those toxic manipulative life suckers.

    I do see a connection with alcohol and BPD with my experiences of friends/ex-friends/acquaintances who've had it. So, its great to have it on the list of things to work on. Good job and thank you for being so honest and open.

      If someone you loved turned out to be a narcissist, there's often the compulsion to want to show grace... though they sadly would not do the same. If they guilted you and said you're a terrible person, you may try to forgive and wish them well just to prove you're not.

    • @Prash1c
      @Prash1c Рік тому

      @@Em_Elizabeth It really does boil down to the person, and as you say, sometimes that person is a full blown narcisist--saveable or unsaveable. And, you don't need to date that person to save them. Best, keep your relatively happy life not toxic, not worth it imo.

    When you say "Episodes" , do you mean a flare up in your BPD symptoms or something else? from what I know BPD isn't an episodic illness but a stable disorder.
    Personally when I smoke Cannabis, my symptoms flare up to an extent, depends on my overall mental health at the time, so for example if I am during a really bad time and I smoke, I could experience panic attacks and have a lot of "fun" with my anxiety, mood swings, intrusive thoughts and dissociation, but when my mental health is good, the flare ups will not be as bad and I will just have to deal with intrusive thoughts, and I might have a bit hard time to stay present in the moment.
    Overall you are right though it's better to stay clear from alcohol and drugs, and I agree with all of the other points, managed to reach the same conclusions by doing a lot of self reflection :)
    By the way, NPD people are problematic for us (My father is a narcissist so I can identify such behavior easily) but what do you say about someone with BPD dating someone else with BPD, do you think it's a bad idea overall or it could work?

    • @SammyGrimm
      @SammyGrimm  Рік тому +1

      How long are BPD episodes?
      They can last anywhere from a few hours to a few months. In some cases, the person with BPD may split on a person, situation, or item forever and never back away from their extreme view. When a person is more symptomatic, they could experience splitting that occurs quickly and without much warning.
      theres a few conflicting things about bpd and episodes but this is what ive learned!
      omg i relate sooooo hard with smoking as well. i started smoking when i was 12 and did it the rest of my life until about 3 ish years ago! idk how i would react if i smoked now- i probly would have a panic attack and want to die lmaooooo
      also, im sure its possible to date another with bpd as long as everyone is in recovery and working towards remission. my only worry would be triggering eachother in a cycle like behavior but i believe its possible! ive dated someone with bpd (very recently- yes brian and i are still together but we dated another girl for little while- just to clarify) and it was beautiful! were still friends to this day and talk frequently and i care about her very much! so its possible, as long as all parties are working towards healing

    Hey, do you have recommendations on how to behave if your partner with bdp is constantly ignoring his boundaries without me even really asking for it. It often gets us in trouble and we both feel like we can't manage to get things better.
    Like i ask: "are you done eating?" Or "do you need more of that?" (Just so i can know if i leave something for him or store it in the fridge) and he usually interprets plenty of things into it like me pushing him to eat more, so then he starts explaining what he'd eaten already to assure me hes doing fine (but in a very stressed tone).
    Doesn't seem that stressfull for a single situation but these situations keep happening all over our days and my intentions almost never seem to be understood in the situations, no matter how much i think about my wording before saying anything. No matter how many therapy sessions i used to solve it by changing my own behaviour. My therapist basically saying i have to practice not taking his accusations to my heart (pretty hard for me as im super sensitive and have a historymakinh it difficult but I'm working on it) and care for myself as explaining those situations to him doesn't seem to work.
    I'm still confused though and somehow refuse to believe there might be no way to help us go through issues. 😢
    Im so glad you keep making videoa s they help me so much to understand whats really going on in our relationship. ❤
