- Halo, kami orang Korea. Kami bepergian di Indonesia sekarang. Saya akhirnya tiba di Surabaya dan saya mencoba makanan enak di sini. Di antara mereka, ada banyak komentar yang mengatakan untuk mencoba Rawon, tapi kami sudah pernah ke sana! Saya pergi ke Rawon Setan yang terkenal di Surabaya dan memakannya. Itu sangat lezat! The weather in Surabaya is dominant in hot and dry temperature around 30-40 degree celcius, but if rain pour down, then you can expect more cool temperature.
I hope you enjoy your stay in Surabaya, and be extra careful around you, as Surabaya crime rate is on the rise recently, and that also true in other region in Java.

It was definitely not easy I know, as many locals don't speak english let alone korean, but never mind as google translate was there at your service. One rule of thumb that I always adhere to is "follow the locals". As of rawon, locals would usually have salted egg and shrimp crackers as condiment. Oh one more thing...the waitress who served you said "ayu" when you paid your bill, he actually admired / complimented you. "Ayu" = beatiful. Have a good time Yoo sisters and stay healthy.

complete rawon consisting of soup, salted egg, chili sauce, short bean sprouts, prawn crackers.

Rawon pisah: the rawon and the rice are on the different plate/bowl. It makes us able to enjoy the rice and the rawon in their own texture (?) and flavor.
It is usually offered at soup/soto/rawon/gulai (food with broth/water (?) ) to accommodate people with these preferences.
The portion of the mixed ("campur") is sometimes cheaper "pisah" because when we order the "pisah" one, each of the rice and the rawon will be more to fill the plate/bowl.
And I think, the pedestrian in Indonesia isn't proper in many places so we have to walk on the street edge carefully, cross the street by relying on our sights and "skill" (to calculate and estimate if the drivers are gonna pull the brake to give us a chance to cross the street or not). I hope you can try more taste in Indonesia.

Hi noona.. I'll try to explain things as far as i know.. Rawon Pisah means it separated the rawon and nasi.. Rawon Campur means it mixed.. So literally its same thing, but just different how to eat, because some people dont like mix it.. but i prefer to mix it directly.
and then, the price, when you see it 8000, it means addition ( + )
Its like calculator, but you just happen to see the final price.. example 79.000 ( you missed it ) + 8000 ( you see it 8000 ) = 87.000 ( you see it last )
