My Mauritania (sp?) Has very reddish growth too, though likely thicker than Burchelli me thinks.

Yes, R. baccifera ssp. mauritiana has much thicker growth. Many Rhipsalis species can turn reddish when grown in higher light. This is meant to be specific to being able to get a better shot at collecting R. burchellii over continuously ending up collecting R. campos-portoana mislabeled as R. burchellii because they are so similar.
