I love Rhipsalis, they are just such a cool plant, I have two at the moment and hope to gather a few more, I especially like the one that looks like hair and would put it in a head pot. I am loving that the weather is getting a little warmer and our snow is melting a bunch, but I'm sure we will get more it is after all only March, lol! I love your hair up, I use to wear mine like this when it was long, it was easy and stress free. I love the name you picked for your sweet bird, and they are so much fun. Happened upon your video and would like to comment. I have rhipsalis "dancing bones" and "capilliformis". For about two years I kept them on the dry side and they did nothing. Once I started watering them more, keeping them slightly moist, they started growing like crazy and haven't stopped. They only receive bright light, no direct sunlight.
I have the capiliformis and never knew what it was called until your video because nobody ever talks about it!! Thank you for this😃
Glad you said that, I have been giving mine water when soil fully dry, and mine get a little bit if sun.

I love rhipsalis because of its unusual shape and characteristic.
I am not an expert but I grow mine in the window because they grow faster. They will grow in shade too but it takes forever. Forever is no good if you want a big plant 🙂
Very nice rhipsalis collection👍🏻 I really think this group of plants are very interesting . I’m glad I looked here because I found two of my plants here that I didn’t know the names to: Rhipsalis capilliformis and the Rhipsalis Quellebambensis. I really didn’t need any more plants , but that capilliformis was just too nice to pass up. lol

I have a dancing bones plant. It's a two foot in diameter and two and a half feet long. Has been in the family a long time. It blooms yellow between Thanksgiving and Christmas. You have a nice collection. Will they get enough light way up there above the window? 🙂
I am not a big fan of Rhipsalis but you have a nice collection. I wish I had known we were supposed to choose a feminine name or at least a unisexual name. I would have come up with something better. Oh well, congratulations to the winner!
Everyone who posted a name was entered to win. It didn’t make a difference if they were the name we chose. We had no idea of whether they were male and female until after we made the video. I’m glad you entered!

Hi Stef I have a rhipsalis capiliformis as well and my leaves are turning yellow on one side, do you think it’s a lighting issue ?
I don't think so. My guess would be too much water or that the soil is too compacted.

Hey Stef. I am new to your channel. I just received a dancing bones as a freebie with an order. I had never seen one before and was so thrilled when you showed the exact same plant. You didn't talk about soil. Or I missed it. Just a standard fast draining soil?? Also what type of pot do you recommend? Thanks for sharing.
I have mine in soil and perlite only. I recommend a ceramic pot. I find it too hard to keep mine wet enough in a clay pot.
Oh my goodness if I had to get up on something to get a plant down I would most likely fall.

When they turn red they're sun stressed - at a certain point of sun stress they lose the ability to process chlorophyll and those areas die off. So technically, they can tolerate high light but the trade off is eventual death :/
