  • Welcome back to Shift Into Gear
    In this segment we have one of the icon vehicles that everyone knows and has loved for so many years, a vehicle that is know all around the world the Mitsubishi Pajero.
    In this review you will get an honest review towards the Mitsubishi Pajero GLX and the quality's it has to offer. As you all know the Mitsubishi Pajero is a popular vehicle in its class of 4x4 vehicles as the 3.2 turbo diesel is a work horse that does everything the owner needs it to do from towing a boat to tackling the harsh conditions when 4WD.
    This vehicle is truly made to please its owners as it can also be used for a everyday family SUV and yes it still has that similar shape over the years that define it as a Pajero.

      @@ShiftIntoGear. Last year they sold the Montero here in the U.S was 2006. They pulled the Montero because of poor sales and the combination of other financial issues Mitsubishi North America was going through at the time. We never saw any other generations of the Montero Sport either after 2005.

    • @ShiftIntoGear.
      @ShiftIntoGear.  8 місяців тому +2

      @itsaboutfam wow, that's actually interesting. It's a shame that the U.S. would have loved these cars. They are practical but also affordable, and the quality is amazing. But I've noticed the U.S. has a lot of Toyota 4WD models.

    • @itsaboutfam
      @itsaboutfam 8 місяців тому +1

      @@ShiftIntoGear. The U.S market is kinda weird TBH. They didn't market the Montero for its strength as a off-road capable vehicle and honestly Mitsubishi doesn't have the brand presence like Toyota here in the States.
      Funny thing is the Montero popularity has grown a lot since the whole "overlanding" lifestyle has become popular. Their prices have risen for the past couple years but they are also hard to find.

    • @ShiftIntoGear.
      @ShiftIntoGear.  8 місяців тому +1

      @itsaboutfam very similar thing is happening here, Mitsubishi does well here, but of course, it is more popular. But as soon as they discontinued this model, more people started purchasing them second hand now. It's weird how the market works, lol. Maybe Mitsubishi will start making some in the U.S. again 🤔 we will have to wait and see if that will ever happen, lol.

    Great review! How reliable and dependable is this? Especially when it comes to electronics and engine? And there are some petrol variants in the market for about 25% less. Are they good as the diesels? Also, I am intending to use this as a daily driver and a weekender. How good is this as a Daily driver? Thanks

      Hi there ,
      Thanks for commenting. It means a lot to us. Electronic wises are overall good. Being a Japanese car, it comes with quality items. the only thing that I find is that the original head unit isn't the best and the original speakers. But of course, this being the base model, you don't get the upgraded sounds system as you would in the exceed model. I find the petrol pajeros are a lot more thirsty than the diesel. Being a daily car for myself, I stayed with a diesel variant as the fuel consumption is fantastic, and the power is still decent. You will love this car.

      Hey Blake,
      Thanks for reaching out, so the 2010 models didn’t actually come with apple car play and android auto, but in saying that maybe it is an aftermarket head unit, or perhaps they have installed a genuine unit from a later model and integrated it, sometimes that works as well. But in saying that,usually the connection to the head unit is usually located in the glove box or even the centre console. Let me know how you go Blake.

      Hmm, good question, I would preferably go to Penrite Pro Gear Oil - 75W-85, 2.5 Litre, but of course I'm not a mechanic lol so I always recommend two things. First, call your local spare parts and give them your vehicle details, and they will make sure to give you the correct oil or even ask your local mechanic and ask him, which oil he recommends for your vehicle. @ShiftIntoGear.  2 місяці тому +1

      Hey champ,
      Good question, I’d first have a look at the body for a 2015 with 150 000km it should be in a pretty decent shape, I’d check for any cabin noises while driving , usually it will be the wheel bearing, they intend to be wore out at times around that time. Check the speakers if they’re crackling or making a popping sound, they usually go around that time as well. But rather than that, it should be a sweet ride, aw and maybe ask them about the DPF filter.
      Let us know how you go champ.
