Non-fighting stuff like Windjammers, NG Turf Masters, Metal Slug 6/7 would be great as well.
As myself and many others mentioned on Evercades teaser video. Please let it be a set of cartridges. If they do Neo Geo Pocket, i would love to see them add more buttons, kind of like they did with some C64 games. For example, in metal Slug, you had to press a button to switch between your primary and secondary weapons. It would be cool to map another button for the secondary weapon, to be more like the arcade versions. Or in the fighting games, you'd tap a button for a light hit, and hold it longer for a hard hit. it would be nice to give people the option if they want to use 4 face buttons, or use the old method.
SNK collaborates with Evercade, not with Super Hyper Mega Tech. And of course I know those things are disguised evercade devices with a different name. But when Blaze uses the Evercade name and states that SNK is going to work with Evercade, they cannot bring such a Hyper pocket thing to the market with King of Fighter and Metal Slug. I hope for carts. If necessary, with 2 games per cart to make more profit. But I expect Evercade to release SNK Alphas. That would be a shame as Blaze is making itself less and less popular with the people who have already invested a lot of money in Evercade hardware. I bought an original handheld, a VS, an EXP limited edition and, after much consideration, an Alpha. I really don't need another device to play Evercade content on.
While I think this good news. As much as I love KOF or Metal Slug, I hope they'll try to find some of the more obscure titles that haven't already been released on other platforms. Same for other publishers. For Konami I'd like to see Pandora's Palace and other earlier games.

Good news, isn’t it? Regarding carts, it could be a good opportunity to utilise those “Gigacarts”. Or you could stick one memory demanding game like Garou: Mark of the Wolves with a bunch of lighter games like Neo Turf Masters, Ninja Commando and Shock Troopers. I’m pretty confident there will be carts. It would be such an unpopular move to make a teaser just to break people’s dreams with hardware exclusive games. It can’t be just Super Pockets since it’s “not Evercade”. And this must have been planned for some time, before they knew if the Alphas would fly. So yeah, some carts, possibly Alphas too. I hope for a good blend of classics like Metal Slug, Last Blade and KoF mixed with good deep cuts like Waku Waku 7, Ninja Masters and Neo Drift Out. Hopefully SNK & Blaze won’t go the chronology rout with the weaker early games (World Heroes 1, Burning Fight) before the good stuff gets released.
Finally, it's happening (and one American 'cader I talk to will be stoked). I'll be buying SNK carts because in my extensive and ancient gaming past I have no history of playing SNK games, I'm excited about this as long as the carts aren't just full of fighting games. BTW, Sega today delisted a load of their PC Megadrive games from Steam and other launchers. My wildcard prediction is Sega carts to follow SNK carts.
Delisting the sega mega drive games from steam probably means they're working on a new collection on those platforms of mega drive games. All publishers do this prior to releasing a new product on the platform that will be a competitor to their new product. They've also removed all their Dreamcast stuff. And they've confirmed they're producing new games in the near future using those dreams at IPs
@ the clicky stick would be perfect on a neo geo pocket colour mega tech or something similar like they made before or vs themed neo geo vs with full sized neo geo arcade sticks
Crazy Burger if we now are getting the likes of Neo-Geo now. Then does that mean they already have something waiting in the pipeline that tops this?!… 🤔. Seems like they might. Due to their projected timeline ahead, for both 25 & 26!! They seem VERY confident to take this approach. Also why do you think they have announced it now? 🤔. At least we now can add something to the Roadmap to be excited about! 😊. Unless they take a NEW approach to that too!… 🤔
I’m not massively familiar with the NeoGeo stable, but it does look made for the Alpha doesn’t it? It seems like the Alpha has been a success, at least in terms of critical reception, so that must give Blaze confidence to make some unit volume assurances to get the deal they want. It
Limiting the SNK titles to hardware only, especially Alpha type bartop, would be seen as a betrayal by the most loyal Evercade fans, who have just bought their Alphas.
I suspect it’s going this way. Just look at the super pockets. I’ve now got four but not sure I’d buy any more unless something really special/nostalgic. They have been slowly moving away from a cart only library. I guess there is a lot of money in selling these larger products.
@@Stephen-2097 Legit old games on ready-made carts within a flexible ecosystem are what makes Evercade special. Without this, it would become just another generic "mini-retro" system like the dozens of others out there.
@@CZpersi I agree.. the cart system is great and I hope the focus remains on it. But the quality of the VS and EXP are a concern. I think they need to up the quality of those systems. The market is there
@Stephen-2097 There is no doubt about that. Quality control is a key ailment of Blaze's products (cartridge failures, EXP build quality etc.) and the most dedicated fans would also likely appreciate premium version of the handheld, preferrably with a larger and better screen (OLED?). The current EXP and EXP-R screens are too dim to be played outdoors.
@@CZpersi It really is a pity about the quality. A concern I’ve always had about the carts is the type of flash memory they use. Ive not taken one apart yet but I’ve heard that they use flash memory similar (in quality and controller design) to a micro SD card. If that’s true, then the lifespan of that memory will not ve anywhere near the lifespan of a Nintendo switch cart, and not anywhere near at all a mask ROM like NES, SNES and Mega Drive carts. Plus, I suspect the carts memory is written to during game saves and updates, which could further shorten its lifespan depending on how often it’s written to. It really depends on the quality of flash memory they use as there is a huge difference between the worst and best micro Sd cards on the market, but I suspect they are not using the best
Can't wait to see what we get on these cartridges, it's gonna be epic also think i've found a fix for the sound issues on the EXP , insert the cart , go to settings, sound, mute it then turn it up to max slowly , i've been doing it and the sound goes very loud .
It would be great if we get all the SNK available as carts but I seriously doubt that will be the case. They will be wanting to push the gifting priced Super Pockets and there's probably a decent margin on the Alphas. If we get more Capcom/Namco type publishers that are precious about their 25 year old content and make their best games hardware only it won't be good for Evercade. People will just switch to alternative options and stay there. VS Consoles will gather dust and end up on Ebay. If you can pick up, game by game, the SNK content on PlayStation cheap in sales, why would you buy an Alpha and why struggle on a tiny super pocket.
I'm not sure if the Evercade will be able to emulate NeoGeo well enough because they opted for the PS1 version of Galaxy Fight: Universal Warriors on the Sunsoft 2 Collection? Although I'm pretty sure the early arcade games from the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection would be fine. Not really a problem because there's loads of NeoGeo ports on the PS1. I think a lot of the NeoGeo games on the PS2 were emulated but Blaze indicated that the capabilities of the platform have topped out at PS1/N64. Just a thought? Keep up the awesome work :-)
Actually, that's a huge red flag about this. Knowing this, the only way they can deliver is either by digital downloads for the EXP and VS or more Alphas with capable hardware that maybe not even the EXP or VS have.
@@NoSpamForYou PS1 is easy to emulate, NeoGeo is too taxing. They would have to come up with a very compromised emulator for them to run on carts. This will be trapped on hardware.
It won't be cartridges. No mention of it in the Press release. I expect these to be an Alpha Bartop or even a bigger Arcade machine maybe. But I can't see this being carts. Big publishers like to lock in their games into hardware, as SNK had their own hardware with games on it & let's not forget the Neo Geo X. I myself am hoping for Nam 75, Magician Lord, Riding Hero & Samurai Shodown which is possibly the best of the one on one fighters. Note the wording is "products" which tells me that it won't be carts. I would love a Neo Geo Pocket Colour collection cart but I don't think it'll happen. That will be more like a new Super Pocket or even an upgraded EXP-R as we both know this isn't the greatest handheld & it'll need built in games so like the EXP Capcom games, I see SNK being a similar style of release. I just can't see this being carts
@CrazyBurger the wording of products was what made me think..if they were bringing out carts (like the Tomb Raider one) then Blaze often explicitly say carts. That they haven't...tells me it won't be. I would love to be wrong!
They announced collab with Capcom... locked behind hardware. They announced collab with Taito... locked behind hardware. They announced collab with SNK...let me guess🤔
the only way this would interest me is if they included metal slug 6 , I already can play the 1 to 5 and 7 (or XX) legally either on steam , gog or the Neo Geo mini MVS.
Let’s hope Blaze really ups the quality of the VS and EXP. The majority of people will be playing huge cart libraries on these machines mostly but the quality has been very questionable lately. The reviews already up on Amazon etc are brutal. Considering these devices are iterations of already released hardware, this is bad. The EXP-R getting a lot of criticism in particular. What are they doing?
It better be carts and if it is then this is great news! 👍 Blaze needs to short it's self out tho, no continuous hardware stock for 9 months now... And has Full Void been made Legacy on the sly? At Funstock Duke has been completely out of stock for long periods of time twice since it first released yet Full Void is forever out of stock. Umm.
The scarcity thing is a tried and tested retro collector business strategy. Limited edition, limited release, legacy cart after a couple years. It’s FOMO. You just have to be aware of it and only buy what you really need. And many games can be bought on other platforms.
2025 huge!?!? Based on an announcement we are yet to see if it’s for more hardware, which is the most likely thing to happen!!!!???? Huge would be getting more carts from developers you don’t see often like it used to be. Or getting SNK games that are not NEOGEO. Even if it’s carts, what could that mean? Knowing SNK and Blaze, it would mean 4 of the 6, 7 tops, carts for 2025, will be SNK games. And the problem with SNK is that this is not Toaplan, this is not Atari, this is not Ocean, this is not Jaleco we’re talking about, this is the same games that we’ve bought over and over again for the past 24 years; the same fighting games (and Metal Slug). I’m pretty sure what we will be getting is a Fatal Fury & KOF Alpha, a Samurai Shodown & Last Blade Alpha and a Metal Slug & Shock Troopers Alpha with 5 games each. Having these on carts won’t be much better. If Blaze would remain with the original Evercade, with what made it shine on it first 3 years, they would try to mix in the usual SNK games, hidden gems and forgotten games from all platforms like the Baseball Star series, the Athena games and Crystalis, the other shooters which are not that R-Type rip-off and the other that just won’t stop saying “bonas”. The other run and gun games and their belt scrollers which are not Sengoku 3. But no, SNK will give them the same old worn out games. Prepare for disappointment.
@@CrazyBurger 2024 was just Embracer and Piko. I doubt this would be different... Well, maybe Piko is out, they've been releasing their own consoles recently. Probably SNK is replacing Piko.
You can buy the Doom trilogy on multiple platforms and at a decent price running on far better hardware. I think Evercade is best when it focuses on niche arcade and independent developer games.
First, you need to understand there’s no such thing as universal human rights. In Saudi Arabia, as well as many other countries, even those close to the US and the Commonwealth, journalists are not well regarded by the people, not just their leaders. Did you know Mexico has a whole group in exile in the US and people despise them? Anyway, if you’ve bought Blaze’s products this year, you’ve already gave your money to the prince; the licensing is not pro bono, Blaze already paid him so they can collect the earnings from selling whatever they do with it *cough- Alphas -cough*.
@@CrazyBurgerI’m pretty sure they are disappointed and maybe embarrassed. I really want to buy the EXP R but the quality and battery life is just not there. It’s a huge missed opportunity. Cheapening pn it was a big mistake.
@@Stephen-2097 Absolutely. The sound really is dreadful. Battery life is better but hardly amazing. I've had a few other odd things going on. Red charge light never goes out even though its fully charged. Occasionally has crashed on me and turned off.
... there's no logic on releasing SNK on hardware. It has already been done. I'm expecting arcade collection carts. Metal Slug, Kof, Samurai Showdown, FatalFury...
Yes, it’s available on every other platform and I think SNK does very well out of those games on major platforms such as Nintendo eShop. Most likely this will be locked to a device.
@@OM19_MO79 ...but why buy the hardware from Evercade? ...there is already portables by SNK. That even have HDMI out...if it's hardware, I won't buy it. 🤦🏼♂️

I hope the overpriced "homebrew" NeoGeo games get some releases. A new NeoGeo game is not worth $300-$500. The opportunity cost came from arcade revenue and high rom chip prices back in the 90s and that is pretty much a non-factor these days. Does anyone sell their NeoGeo homebrew roms besides Bitmap Bureau?
Would prefer Carts than more Hardware.

And they've confirmed they're producing new games in the near future using those dreams at IPs
if they offer those on cartridges then i will buy...it would affect the second hand market of Neo Geo carts at least a little bit
I could see a King of Fighters Alpha but I really want them all on carts
I just want a metal slug cart.
I wonder if they will bring back something like the neo geo gold x that blaze and snk released back in 2012
I'm still rocking my Neogeo X. I got it at launch.
@ the clicky stick would be perfect on a neo geo pocket colour mega tech or something similar like they made before or vs themed neo geo vs with full sized neo geo arcade sticks
i think it will be another alpha neo geo or some mini console with pre installed games like capcom
Snk e' tra i miei preferiti e fortunatamente ho il neo geo mini. Speriamo facciano super poket, cassette, gadget a tema ma mai e poi mai un alpha.
😊. Unless they take a NEW approach to that too!… 🤔
It better be a 6 button Evercade for SNK games.
It really depends on the quality of flash memory they use as there is a huge difference between the worst and best micro Sd cards on the market, but I suspect they are not using the best
i want to see some mortla kombat games and more technos games - more kunio-kun games basketball, soccer, arena fighting
Can't wait to see what we get on these cartridges, it's gonna be epic also think i've found a fix for the sound issues on the EXP , insert the cart , go to settings, sound, mute it then turn it up to max slowly , i've been doing it and the sound goes very loud .
@@jasonshiers5771 Interesting I'll check that out. Cheers.
I wouldn't assume there are going to be cartridges. Blaze carefully used the word "products".
@MrDaveP75 I wouldn't assume there won't be either. I think by not saying carts... we know hardware related is going to happen for sure
@@CrazyBurger , I'm pretty certain we will get cartridges.
@@jasonshiers5771 That tip didn't help me I'm afraid.
Would love a neo geo alpha but I doubt they would put on 40 games like the mini or arcade pro joystick then just milk it with loads of carts
irem collection 2 :(
where is dragon breed??
It’s been a long time. Might never come :(
It would be great if we get all the SNK available as carts but I seriously doubt that will be the case.
Keep up the awesome work :-)
If they can run Tomb Raider they can run NeoGeo. They probably just didn't have an emulator ready so they used PS1 Galaxy Fight.
@@simonpophale1250 It does make me concerned that it won't be carts.. but until we know for sure, we can but hope.
@CrazyBurger the wording of products was what made me think..if they were bringing out carts (like the Tomb Raider one) then Blaze often explicitly say carts. That they haven't...tells me it won't be.
I would love to be wrong!
SNK put out two NeoGeo Pocket collections for Switch. I can see those released as carts.
Banpresto would be good...
@@Stephen-2097 I'll need to have a read on Amazon..
This is good news. However, I’d love to see Evercade getting some Konami licences in 2025
That would be great too! Even some of their later PSX games, like Ridge Racer would play nicely on Evercade.
Hopefully people like fighting games lol
@@1invag lol I'll have to get practising..
It better be carts and if it is then this is great news! 👍
Blaze needs to short it's self out tho, no continuous hardware stock for 9 months now... And has Full Void been made Legacy on the sly? At Funstock Duke has been completely out of stock for long periods of time twice since it first released yet Full Void is forever out of stock. Umm.
@@MIKandJEAN Not sure what's going on.. Amazon have stock though..
@CrazyBurger Very strange! 😯
Prepare to be surprised. There's more than just SNK coming.
@@CrazyBurger 2024 was just Embracer and Piko. I doubt this would be different... Well, maybe Piko is out, they've been releasing their own consoles recently. Probably SNK is replacing Piko.
Here's to hoping for SNK cartridges! I don't want a stack of Super handhelds. I don't like the D-Pad on them!
Exactly.☝️
@@labnine3362 Absolutely. Don't want more Alphas either.. but think this one is almost inevitable.
This really is the LEAST surprising collab ever.
I just want either an SNK Super Pocket, or a GiGA cart that includes Mark of the Wolves.
No more hardware.. software only for the next two years would be nice
@@Bears9McMahon Agree but I'll guarantee there will be hardware of sorts next year..
If we don’t get carts then I’m not interested
DOOM TRILOGY PLEASE
You can buy the Doom trilogy on multiple platforms and at a decent price running on far better hardware.
I think Evercade is best when it focuses on niche arcade and independent developer games.
Apparently I'm the only one that wants them to make a new neo geo console instead of carts
@@bambinazo123 I think some sort of console or Alpha seems a certainty.
@CrazyBurger if it's just a neo geo skinned evercade I'm OUT
I want a different console (could be part of the evercade family)
SNK is currently owned by the Saudi prince that had the journalist killed in an embassy. There are ways to play these games without giving him money.
@@OM19_MO79 Ok buddy
I wish that they'd given us more info, I hate these dumb teasers with no real details where you just have to wait-and-see...
@@JohnnyProctor9 I don't get why they need to announce now at all? Seems like odd timing. I'm sure there's reasons. Diverting from a crap EXPR launch.
This shit better be on cartridges......NO LOCKED ON portable GARBAGE !!!😡👎
... there's no logic on releasing SNK on hardware.
Didn't we all say the same thing about Capcom, Atari and Taito though?
@@MrDaveP75 ...if it's hardware, I won't buy them.
The logic is: impulse buy tat sells. Cartridges made for a console with a limited userbase, not so much.
This will be on new Alphas.
@@OM19_MO79 ...but why buy the hardware from Evercade? ...there is already portables by SNK. That even have HDMI out...if it's hardware, I won't buy it. 🤦🏼♂️
yeah, I'm not getting too excited until we see some actual carts announced. This could easily be a Capcom situation where we get two more Alphas (one based on one on one fighters and the other a Metal Slug collection) and two more Superpockets. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that's not the case.
I have all these games on my Steam Deck. This is nothing massive. This is Aliexpress trash
