I was diagnosed with Lupus and about 20 different other things before the age of 25. This summer I fasted, quit taking ALL meds, did a parasite cleanse, changed my diet, excercised more often, and that seemed to be the most effective method to help everything. Also, changed ALL beauty products to organic. I've noticed a huge difference.

Love and respect yourself - I have NEVER heard that from a doctor. And FORGIVE yourself when you aren't perfect. What a concept. I am a self worth coach. I "KNOW" my autoimmune was caused by a lack of self worth, killing myself over taking care of everyone else except me, stress, stress, stress and a lifetime of poor coping mechanisms. I now take care of myself. I have hashimoto's - I cut out gluten (made a HUGE difference, cut out dairy - HUGE difference) - learned how to love myself, listen to my body. Am I perfect? NO. Do I try hard to honor my body. Yes. Sugar is what I currently battle (dark chocolate raisins and bark thins!) Thanks for all of this information..... I feel overwhelmed by so much info but listening to my body and learning what I can matters.

As a child, she coughed. Her second grade teacher nagged about what I put in her lunchox so I found an amazing allergy doctor who changed her life in one year. She is now gorgeous and healthy and strong, an amazing wife and mother to three boys, one in college and another graduating high school soon.

I’ve had dry eye since 1987. Later, in 2014 I had many eye tests and a lower lip salivary biopsy and was diagnosed with Sjogrens Syndrome- an autoimmune disorder. But back in 1988, I felt that I couldn’t cry for a reason. That reason was because I had no support system. I wasn’t getting what i needed. Never a hug. No empathy. Constantly attacked by hateful, jealous women who envied my natural blonde hair and tall, 5 foot nine stature. I was left alone, with no family, no siblings, a toxic mother who would not tell the cousins where i lived or my phone number. I was left entirely alone to do my business and fight all my battles with no witnesses or real friends to share it with. I know that this is what caused my body to attack itself. This created my auto immune disease.
I now have osteoporosis, Sjogrens, foot neuropathy, just had a reverse shoulder replacement, have blurry vision, and increasing spider veins in my upper and lower legs. I was in my thirties. I’m now in my seventies. And I’m feisty.

I've had hypothyroidism for years and been on thyroid medication for decades. Last year my sciatic nerve acted up and I was as barely able to walk for 6 months. It was very debilitating. The pain doctor literally wanted a review prior to me getting a cortisone shot. He met me for 10 minutes. I kept asking all the doctors what's the root cause?! They recommend surgery since the cortisone shot didn't work. Not ONE doctor told me to stay away from gluten or all grains, sugar, nightshades, dairy, or alcohol. I've gone carnivore and just did an allergy test for myself. I'm working with a functional doctor now. Screw the doctors who continue to go with big pharmaceutical companies and push pills or push surgery rather than get to the root cause. It's THE DAMN FOOD! The FUEL we consume daily. It's shit and yet we collectively believe our doctors have our back. They don't, they like us weak and sick, they make more money. I promised myself I'd figure this out for myself. We all deserve to feel great.

I was “diagnosed” with rheumatoid arthritis at 32. Since that time I discovered fasting (along with dietary changes)…but I am now 52 years old, symptom free and I take no medications. Why? Because my first fast, was a 7 day water fast, it was very easy contrary to cultural brainwashing, AND I felt better than I had in YEARS! Brain fog completely disappeared during that first 7 day fast, I woke up wide awake, I fell asleep and slept great, and nothing stressed me out. NOTHING. I felt amazing during that 7 days. Any joint discomfort and swelling DISAPPEARED. I still fast intermittently.
Fasting provides incredible health benefits that I’m still discovering. I would say I wonder why this type of information isn’t all over the news, but by this time in all the years I’ve been researching, I know that the news isn’t the best place to find the truth about things.
Do your own research and listen to your intuition. That’s the absolute best advice I would give anyone when it comes to what types of lifestyle choices benefit your health. Also…I’d say fast regularly.

I was told the same word for word around the 5 minute mark by multiple disciplinary medical professionals regarding my autoimmunity. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, sero- negative rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, osteoarthritis and tested positive for the anti- scl 70 antibodies. I do take medication only because I could not handle the withdrawal side effects. I recently had a conversation with my doctor regarding the benefits of nutrition and functional medicine in general and the atmosphere of my visit completely changed. The first words out of my dermatologists mouth after opening the door to greet me was, "you know there is nothing I can do for you, right." Mabe not you, but God sure can. I've been on disability for almost 10 years now and I feel like I'm a prisoner of the system. I'm grateful indeed. Hard pill to swallow at 43 years old when others judge you because nothing looks wrong with you on the outside and they don't understand internal pain because they can't see it. Some years ago I took a hard look at nutrition and started to pay attention to my body's reaction to foods. I know pretty well now what I react to, but still it's hard for others to understand. I live in fear, we live in fear. Change can be very intimidating. God bless every person who struggles with pain, illness and fear. Thank you.

I fasted for 6 days, and my autoimmune dysfunctions were reduced by 85%, I did further fasting later on (10 days with 1 enema per day) and was 100%. And running was helpful too. My problems came back 4 months later after eating a bowl of apple crisp cheerios. Fasted again and got rid of my problems, then months later, my family (not I) deep fried in the house, and just being in the house, it came back. Fasted and was gone, but using a gas stove over the winter and leaving the door open to heat the house a little caused it again. Make all your food from scratch, no restaurants, and only buy one ingredient foods For example, gring and blend your own seasoning for chicken and stay away from pree blended spices as they contain processed oils. I believe that grains are a problem due to the chemicals, and the body will still attack it even if you find an organic source because the body remembers the grain with the chemicals.

Salt is not the main culprit when it comes to increased BP... Sugar is. (MD David Unwin, and Dr. James DiNicolantonio explains this well... See 'The Salt Fix').
Salt-intake is in fact highly beneficial towards maintaining BP, and with it good health; for example to absorb Vit C; not only in the gut, but also in the brain. The elderly especially need to take in more salt, since their kidneys do not work as well anymore to hold on to minerals. A low salt diet - in combination with high intake of water and other beverages - leaves us depleted of minerals, leads to incontinence, and even death, after for example developing hyponatremia.

That’s what this doctor is telling us. Too much evidence showing us all what to do. Fasting, changing your diet, exercise etc. It’s really up to us. We are also responsible for our children. They don’t know, we do. We know what we shouldn’t let them have. Bottom line, it’s up to us. Doctors don’t get to tell me anything unless they are teaching me what this doctor is teaching us. This is so true! I am an Army Veteran who went to the VA because I was having neurological problems and the neurologist said my symptoms were related to migraines because I have a history of migraines. The funny thing is that I had been having these symptoms for almost a year and only had a migraine once or twice. The doctor refused to listen to me and wanted to put me on medication and refer me to a pain specialist to put me on more medication. When I told her I didn’t want you to be on medication but, wanted you to figure out why I was having these symptoms she got upset. I told her I was going to get a second opinion and she got offended. She then wrote a doctor’s note in my chart stating that I said the neurology team was stupid and that I was of no help to her! The VA is a joke and only wants to medicate you instead of helping you.

Overtime we will get worst and they will treat us with meds for life that is their purpose. I argued with my dr too cuz he wanted to up my meds. I was told T2D we are to be on meds for life to control our disease. I did my own research and i was told a lie by my dr. Im off all the meds cuz i changed my diets, exercise and fasting. These simple free methods helped me to get off all my meds and reverse my conditions.

My Diabetic test score of A1C is 6.1, passed my EKG, and my BP is great after being on Ozempic for over a year, my weight is 140 for several months as a almost 70 year old Woman...but, they said to me "Are you a Dr now?" Not wanting me to have a stroke since still Diabetic so they gave me 4 RXs including low dose Aspirin, 2 BP meds and a Cholestrol drug!
And, made me an appointment 3 months later...that should give me time to find another Dr if need? I already have a main Family Physician and an Endocrinologist, both Women. I was feeling pretty good until psychological berating from Dr's and Family who think I'm too skinny! Look at my numbers! My Father is also skinny at 91 so I asked what's your problem then if it's not good for me to be thin.I will always be ready to learn more... I want off the drugs, all of them. I’ve got to disagree. It depends which doctor you get. I’ve had very good, conservatively treating doctors who prioritize my actual health and well being, explain everything to me in detail and have very good bedside manner. It is very dependent on the facility and doctor. Please don’t let an anecdotal story ruin your perspective of the VA. While I completely believe you and validate the terrible experience you went through, not everyone has that experience. 😊

At age 4, I was diagnosed with salicylic acid allergies -- aspirin which my parents were treating my upper respiratory, sore throat, fever, hives, and pain everywhere with Aspirin. Elementary school was rather uneventful, but we had moved around from one rural area to another where I was exposed to pesticides and herbicides. High school, lots of symptoms which I just tolerated. Finally, I was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis followed by CRPS, Optic Neuritis and on from there. I was sent to a pain doctor following a series,of car accidents and surgeries. My first Pain Management doctor did several panels with lab results identifying high levels of arsenic! Turns out, the medical community in the US doesn't know what to do about the chronic arsenic toxicity. The dance continues where I have lots of all kinds of medications addressing one named disease after another -- I take a rather wide list of supplements based on research that maps to the symptoms that I ant shake! We'll see what happens after processing this info!

I had sooooo many different hormone medications prescribed to me. Nothing worked. Had my thyroid checked, etc. etc. etc. I got tired of being on the receiving end of “that look”. It’s not in my head. Our health system is NOT broken… it’s a fine-tuned, well-oiled, meticulously operating DEATH MACHINE! It doesn’t exist to help or heal… it merely exists to make money… and Big Pharma aren’t doing a single thing to help or heal either … their main objective is to create toxic chemicals that will help you in one way… (by masking symptoms … NOT HEALING) but devastate you in another. They intention is purely to create and push MORE drugs so that they can make more money from desperate people. Their ONLY goal is to keep you alive long enough to make as much money as they possibly can from your misfortune… before you die. Donating money to these researchers who claim to be searching for a cure for cancer, etc … THERE IS NO BIGGER LIE!!!!! in the history of mankind… these people are NOT looking for cures … they are merely working for the pharmaceutical companies to create toxic chemicals that merely mask symptoms … not heal them or cure them. Disease is nothing more than an opportunity for the medical profession to get richer and richer. I’ve never met a doctor Who actually cared about his/her patients…

I’m not a medical person but since I learned about the existence of chimerism in humans, I’ve always wondered if people with autoimmune problems are actually chimeras who started out as two separate embryos that fused before implanting. It would explain why ones immune system would seemingly attack the host. That makes no sense. Perhaps doing genetic testing on various tissues in the body might provide an answer?

My mother, after years of thyroid problems and most of it taken out she was diagnosed with celiac disease. Fast forward many years of research and dietary restrictions she was diagnosed with Scladerma (can’t remember how it is spelled!) she thinks she has psoriatic arthritis. In this whole process I found out I don’t have celiac but gluten intolerance. My sensitivity is worse than hers. But was also possibility diagnosed with lupus as a young adult. I have been on and off steroids for years and also developed some lung issues that landed me in the hospital in a coma. They don’t have any idea what is wrong and just treat my symptoms. It is so frustrating and getting old. My whole family apparently has majority of the same symptoms but all have something different?! I am a female nurse of over 30yrs.
However...Dr Semmelweis actually noted first that nurses who delivered babies always washed their hands and the mothers 100% didn't die of puerperal fever.
Nurses always knew there was correlation between dirty things and disease!
But never given any credit. This has also been my experience. 😢😢.

Love this. I listen to other people with autoimmune diseases and most of them sound like unempowered victims. A person with cfs, which I would go to her house and make her dinner sometimes and listen to her constantly talk about her disease as if it was her only identity, told me recently that she had no energy to waste on me when I call her to ask about her knowledge when I learned I was going through the same thing. It's nuts! I currently have three autoimmune diseases right now, and I learned gradually why I have them. It's not an instant cure, it's a process, but I know that I will heal and I still make it a priority to be there for people. I don't see myself as a sick person. I'm a person who's learning about her body, her emotional state, her bad habits that do not etc. the hard way, maybe, but I'm learning.

My dose was increased for the first time recently, no explanation from my doctor, I'm now 100% certain it's due to my leaky gut, which I can address through improving my diet. Annoyed and bemused that my doctor didn't inquire or inform there could be a reason my condition worsening.
