Yesterday, March 17, TIME magazine included Medellin among the best 50 destinations in the world in 2023 and in January THE NEW YORK TIMES also included Medellin among the best 50 destinations in the world in 2023. Medellin is in fashion.
Its a great place!!
Wow, I'm so proud of my beautiful city Medellin, Colombia 🇨🇴 greetings from USA 🇺🇸
Paragliding was awesome!
It was incredible!
Really cool video! Colombia is definitely on my travel list. Safe Travels!
Thank you! Yesss it's an amazing country definitely worth visiting! :)
Bienvenida siempre a Colombia, este es un país muy hermoso con muchos lugares increíbles por conocer. Como colombiano me siento muy orgulloso de ver este tipo de videos ❤️
Muchas gracias! 😍 Colombia es un país mágico. Espero volver a Colombia algún día!
Thanks for uploading, visiting Colombia soon
I hope you have the best time! It's a wonderful country
@@maddy_rocco.. thanks! Planning on Bogota, Medellin, Santa Marta, and Cartagena. Do you recommend any other areas you enjoyed?
@@matteojosue8041 sounds good! I really loved the coastal areas around Santa Marta - tayrona National park, Buritaca (mainly for Rio Buritaca hostel if you're into partying) and palomino is a pretty cool/hippy surf town but not the prettiest beach. In other locations - I loved Salento and the area around this town and Guatape as a 1 or 2 day trip from medellin. There are also places I didn't visit that I wish I had time to that I heard were great such as la guajira region further north from Santa Marta, Jardin (near medellin) and rincon del mar (further south to cartagena) and of course the pacific coast and cali but I heard they are a bit more difficult to get to logistically! Sorry for the long reply but hope that helps!
Beautiful and professional presentation my friend, you filmed this beautifully! Gorgeous narration too 🔥🔥
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed! :)
Nice vlog, looking forward to your travels.
Thank you!!
Great video, Im landing there next week I cant wait.
Thank you!! Damn I'm jealous!! Have the best time on your trip!
@@maddy_rocco Thank you, Ill have a great time,
I have a weird question, LOL. why are people saying no shorts? TIA
I heard the locals just don’t wear shorts. They wear pants mostly. You probably only wear shorts during the short-lived summers where you are from or during vacation. As a tourist, of course, you want to wear shorts because you are on vacation, but as for the locals, I would imagine that at some point they would prefer to cover their skin from the elements (dirt, sun, pollution, dirt) for every-day living. Similar to why one would not wear flip-flops or open shoes all the time.
Also, it is a big city and not a small, coastal beach town.
@@ourwilliam2405 yeah you will! I think as the reply says above most of the locals are in jeans/long trousers and so to not stand out as a tourist it would be advised not to wear shorts. However the weather is usually really nice in Medellin so tourists do wear shorts etc around to enjoy the weather!
Nice video of Medellin, I went there twice and want to go back cause I love it there 🙌🏼
Thanks!! I loveeeed this city it's so cool! Definitely want to go back 😍
I'm traveling to Medellin on April 6 for 5 weeks and the majority of UA-cam videos I've seen are scare tactic videos about crime robbery getting drugged even getting unlived! 😮
Thankfully UA-cam suggested your channel😊 I'm a little apprehensive because I've only been to Cancun Mexico and I don't speak Spanish. But I'm meeting a girlfriend who lives there. Anyway thanks for the nice video. Hope you had a wonderful time there and I hope I do to 😊
It's one of my favorite cities in the world and I go three times a year. It is generally safe. Just practice common sense and watch your drink around strangers. Have fun!
Wow 5 weeks! I'm jealous it's a great city! Don't get me wrong I did hear a few horror stories too but I guess bad things can happen anywhere in the world. Having said that my experience there was great. The people are lovely there, the weather is usually perfect and the city has so much on offer! Hope you manage to get by with the Spanish with the girlfriend you are meeting and thank you so much for the comment! Have a great time! 😊
Stay in safe areas, avoid illegal activities, and don’t be flashy. All you really need to do in Medellin.
Hey, great stuff! Btw you should never speak apologetically about where you are staying, those who stay at a hotel don't apologize either and those who stay at home are the last ones to please cause they didn't even bother to go and see the world
Thanks for the comment! 😊
Great comment

Great content!! I loved the murals in the city and the views overlooking the mountains. Where was the murals located? Is this from the Free walking tours by Real City Tours?
Thank you so much! Towards the first part of the video I did a free city walking tour with Real City tours (would highly recommend) and then later on in the video I did a walking tour of Comuna 13 (where all the murals are) and I think I booked that through guru walks online! But I also heard zippy tours is good
I’ll be going solo in May for 10 days!
Hope you have the best time! It's an awesome city!!
Hello pretty good video nice to see really appreciate you you done a great job
Thank you so much!
@@maddy_rocco it's my pleasure 🙏 dear
How did you get to San Felix? I'm going paragliding on Thursday. Company says there's a shuttle for 160,000 mil COP, but I'm not sure how to do that. Did you just Uber?
We used a shuttle provided by the company too! I had a friend staying at the viajero hostel and she booked it for us through there. I think we paid a total of 330,000 COP for the shuttle (which was just a taxi there and back) and the actual paragliding with photos and videos included. But I'm sure you could get an Uber probably for cheaper! They were really reliable when I used them in medellin. Better than the normal taxis for sure
I went on the same tour with those guys
Hope you had a great time!
Love this vid Maddy! You really showcased Medellin properly. Not a fan of this music choice for a Colombian video though lol
Thank you!! Lol yeah sorry about the music choice! 😅 I just used what I already had downloaded from audio library at the time to avoid copyright 😣 will try find better suited music for future vlogs 😅
@@maddy_rocco lol trust me I’ve had the same issue before. Now I just download a bunch so I can have in the arsenal when needed
following from Texas - safe travels
Thank you!!
I’ll be there in July for a month. Any other tips !?
Definitely check out the nightlife if you are into that! They for sure know how to party there. And there's lots of places you can do day trips from Medellin such as guatape or Jardin. Also the rooftop bars of los patios and viajero hostel are fun and sociable if that's your vibe too. Have fun!
How to find that walking tour yiu did pls? Nice video 👍
Thanks! I have now added links to both tours in the description box 😊
What hostel did you stay at?
Los patios!
@@maddy_rocco Was there a good party scene there? I've been looking into Masaya and Los Patios as well as Viajero. I'm torn!
WHen are you going back?
Hopefully in the next few years !!
I just finished Narcos on Netflix....I'm not going there. 😆 🤣 😂
Hahaha! It's honestly changed so much nothing like narcos !!
Do you know how to speak spanish ? was it easy to get around if you dont know much spanish?
I can speak beginner - intermediate Spanish so was able to communicate my needs and have basic conversations. I found a lot of people didn't know how to speak much English so would definitely say it would be best to learn or write down a few basic phrases and words or download Spanish on google translate offline. I would've definitely struggled at times if I didn't know any Spanish - even in places like the airports and taxi drivers they didn't speak English!
did you feel safe?
Generally speaking yes! Depended on the area as to how safe I felt but I didn't run into any trouble thankfully so felt pretty safe! Also just took normal precautions like not walking alone at night etc
You have to use your comun sense, and be aware that in every country there are insecurity problems. But if you are wise and careful, you can e joy all beautiful things in Colombia and every were. Be wise, careful, respectful and enjoy and have fun.
Stay safe from the drugging
No encounters with any of this!
Tengo mas pinta de gringo yo que soy peruano 😅😅
🤣
