    I loved your videos! I just entered the affinity designer world and I perceive the lack of tutorials or cool art examples in youtube. I saw that there is more of illustrator ones.
    And your videos were those really important and helpful to explain things that others doesn't.
    Thanks a lot for that! Would love to see more tutorials of your work and how to do more complex art!

    Thank you for the great tutorial but there is one thing I cannot figure out. What is the fastest way to finish an open line. I’m creating a line with multiple turning points but I do not want to close the shape. How do I finish the line so I can then draw another line somewhere else and not have the new line connected to the end of the previous line?

    • @EliasSarantopoulos
      @EliasSarantopoulos  2 роки тому

      The easiest way in my opinion is to create your closed path and when you when to continue from a specific point, use the scissors tool to break the path (below the context menu) into two anchor points and continue from there. Hope this helps, thank you! 😀 👋

    Great video. I have one question please (anyone.) When using the pen tool, is there anyway to make the boarders less strong? I've been selecting "smart mode" outlining the area using a lot of small dots, then I hit "Select" and I make my adjustments. It works but the boarder is too hard- too clearly defined.
    Thanks.

    • @MOAB-UT
      @MOAB-UT 2 роки тому +1

      @@EliasSarantopoulos Thanks. I don't know enough to even answer your question. With the pen I make a lot of little dots around the area. I hit select. Then I change the contrast, colors, etc. It looks to sharp around the edges. I want it to be softer or blend in more with the rest of the subject if possible.

    • @EliasSarantopoulos
      @EliasSarantopoulos  2 роки тому

      @@MOAB-UT Then it seems that you are creating a corner point. If so, select the anchor point with the Node Tool and at the bottom of the contextual menu select smooth Point. I hope that helps. 😀👋

      @MOAB-UT 2 роки тому +1

      @@EliasSarantopoulos Thanks. I clicked on NODE and just get an arrow that makes a box that doesn't do anything. Not sure it is making my selection area border any softer. I need to zoom in and fine select certain areas using the dots (Pen Tool.) Otherwise I would just use the selection brush tool. For example, say you wanted to only select a dogs NOSE. You use the pen and dots but after you make it darker, it does not blend in well with the rest of his face. I need a soft border. I've seen this in other tools- just not sure how to find it.

    The Join command doesn’t work for me. I drew two straight lines and tried to join the bottoms. The tops ended up joining instead. I then drew the lines again, but this time bottom to top to see if the direction of creation would make a difference and it did not. Why doesn’t this work?

    • @EliasSarantopoulos
      @EliasSarantopoulos  4 роки тому

      Good question! So I drew one path, duplicate it, select both paths from the Layers Studio, marquee select the top nodes and ran the Join command and join the top two nodes. Use the Reverse action to reverse the top nodes, marquee select the bottom nodes and use the Join action. It works on my end TheNordicHunter. Thank you for watching! 😀

    • @TheNordicHunter
      @TheNordicHunter 4 роки тому +1

      Elias Sarantopoulos Still not working. This is driving me nuts. It shouldn’t be complicated or require the paths to be reversed. It should work with any two nodes selected. After selecting each layer, I use the pen tool in edit mode to select the nodes and then press join. That’s correct isn’t it? I appreciate your help.

    • @TheNordicHunter
      @TheNordicHunter 4 роки тому +1

      Elias Sarantopoulos I may do this, but in the meantime I wanted to share what I have now discovered and hopefully it will help others that are maybe experiencing the same thing. Feel free to try this also so you can see what I’m experiencing. I noticed something with each time that I tried. Distance. If you draw a 90 degree vertical line and then duplicate it and move it to the right horizontally, you can join the blue colored nodes whether they are on top or bottom. But if you draw an angled line and then mirror it to the right with some space in between, it won’t matter which ends are blue, because only the closest ends will join. So when there is equal space, only the blue nodes will join. If there’s an unequal distance, the shorter distance always wins. Not sure why they would make it work this way.

    • @EliasSarantopoulos
      @EliasSarantopoulos  4 роки тому +1

      That is a very correct observation, I have experienced the same and that's why when I have two horizontal lines side by side I would use the Reserve action to join either the bottom or the top nodes. Thing is, at least myself, most of the times if not always I draw smooth points so I don't bump into this issue. Great comment and feedback, thank you TheNordicHunter! 🙏😃
