From what I've seen, most people actually hate the combat (myself included). But regardless of my own taste, it's still refreshing to hear from someone who's enjoying it.
I think people hate it because, as he said earlier, it can be clunky. Especially by the mid-point of the game where the enemies take the kid's gloves off and really force you to understand the mechanics of the game. If you don't get it by then you're gonna have a bad time. It's an interesting combat mechanic... when it works right. But I think to get to that part requires more effort than it realistically _should_ need. People tend to be turned away when you spend a majority of the game fighting _against_ the combat system as opposed to fighting _with_ it. I've seen far, far worse combat systems and this one isn't nearly as bad as any of them. But I can also understand why people would get frustrated with this; it's not a system you can just jump into and gradually get better with over time. It's one that really requires you to slow down and take your time to get just right.
Appreciate the review very much. I had no idea what Reynatis was about but I saw the collab and the poster and I was just mesmerized by the vibrant colours. The models reeeeeeeally don't do them justice from what I saw in the video though. That being said, the concept sounds very intriguing. An offense-defense mode for combat that also plays into the actual setting by having your Restricted form be a cover from the magic police? Great creativity I am interested to see where it might go, particularly with the Wizarts (since you get them from grafitti i wonder if it matters which character is in the lead and if you are locked to that character once that art is acquired) and the passive effects they may bring. One last thing, I figure that the sudden cut-in for the circle parry might take away from the combat's flow, though it might be great to give you a 2-3 second break from all the action and particle effects that likely take place when your Wizard teams gets to fight another Wizard team
It's an alright game, 3.5/5 score should be the right scoring. Background graphics and characters r like ps4, facial characters are like ps3. Music is good. Control is pretty easy. Gameplay/side quests can be very repetitive. It's very easy to lvl up. This game is for casual player, not for hardcores. All story bosses are easy to beat with the exception of 1 of the 2 lvl 99 chapter after you beat the game. Really hard at first, but once you find the trick, it's actually very easy. I just finished this game 2 days ago including all extra chapters from the church. I like this game, not bad, not great.
I thought the combat would be like the tales series but it seems pretty interesting switching between an attack mode and dodging mode. Do you know if the game will have a physical release or will this be digital only ?
I normally never do that i would buy it at 10 dollars or 14 not higher. I love the company but man the budget is abysmal... And surely they didn't had enough time to deliver a well done product, they have been cut on time and budget heavely... I do want to support but, there is other point where i'm not fan. Then yeah 14 dollars max for me.
Is Reynatis a game you would give a chance?
It's on my wishlist... will wait for a discount. Playing Final Fantasy 16 on PC now 😊
I currently have it on my wishlist and plan on trying the demo. If I don't mind it, I'll probably pick it up on sale.
Already on the Wishlist tried the steam demo the dodge mechanic was a bit difficult but the aesthetics hyped the game for me
maybe just the demo

Dope video as always my guy!
I'm going to take your advice and pick this up later in the year 🎃
thanks so much for the great review.
Can you imagine crossover between KH with Sora and Riku meeting Reynatis and The World Ends with You party
Great review! I'll probably pass on this game for now - maybe if it's on sale down the road I'll check it out!
