One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I started making them with team logos on the left, and a game snapshot on the right, and I’ve gotten almost all of my video views with that style.

Mexico short stop is legit 💪🏽
What I’ve noticed this series is that the short stops are great. Nicaragua’s is amazing. Compared to other series, the pitching seems to not be as dominate as in years past. That could be due to stricter age checks. The catchers seem rough this year. Lot of passed balls when they shouldn’t have been.
@@colbypitt8895 It’s little league and they are 12 you have to remember these aren’t top talent 12 year olds.. top talent 12 year olds are at AAU nationals or in North Carolina at the USA camp. These are a group of kids that formed a good team in your neighborhood and just didn’t lose all summer.. so with that being said if you know little league you know passed balls are common that happens often that isn’t surprising. In regards to the pitching thing it’s early in the tournament. Most teams are saving their best pitchers for championship rounds when they need them. I am sure we will see better pitching in the following games to come now that teams are in a win or go home situation.
But yes I agree there has been a lot of good short stops this year not just Mexico, Hawaii, Nicaragua ext have good short stops too. Infield play kn general has been great this year. As a former catcher and former short stop I love to see it
@@colbypitt8895 I agree Garcia was the smoothest in this entire llws kid moved like a professional
Short stop is usually the best one on the field. Grew up playing SS and was always the best if not one of the best on all my teams.
Hi is a good baseball player
Taiwan was clearly the better team but these umps really made the game harder for Mexico. I could see Mexico winning this game about 40% of the time
Disagree. The kids took themselves out of the game and the Asian pitchers owned the outside of the plate.
I think the ump only missed that hit by pitch call, the others were confirmed by replay. And the ump gave every team the same strike zone the whole tournament imo. It's just about which pitcher can more consistently hit those spots. And Taiwan's pitchers are no joke, dropping only 1 run in 6 games.
@@chihchang1139 they also could have easily challenged the hit by pitch, but chose not to.
@@jh0720 bad call ? They literally went under review lmfao . Like 8 professional umpires in a room replaying it over and over . Wym bad calls lol .
Harder how?...calls that were reviewed were made correct as video shows you.
How are these kids supposed to hit a ball 3 inches off the plate? I understand having a bigger zone to keep the game moving, but the level these kids play at, it does have to be THAT big. Give the hitters a chance.
It's a bigger zone so the pitchers have a chance. It's already a smaller field, bases are closer, and the bats are lighter. The offense has a lot of handicap and these kids are amazing offensive players. If you don't expand the zone, there's no way the defense can survive. You will see more 50+ points games like in the old days. And if your pitcher can pitch exactly 1 baseball away from the strike zone, that pitcher deserves that strike. Pitching is difficult enough as it is, and these kids are pitching curveballs and knuckleballs too.
But but it's alright in the end according the announcers lmao
@@chihchang1139 Maybe consider restricting the bats more then. No drop 8 or drop 10 or whatever they are allowed to swing :). I understand your point though.
That strike zone was bullshit!!
The ump had a reasonable strike zone for the first two innings with respect to painting the edges, and his zone was evenly applied to both teams.
Then his strike zone became wider and wider as the game progressed, with Taipei getting most of the calls.
A really wide strike call was when the Chinese pitcher lined up on the left side of the rubber with the catcher holding his mitt directly in line with the edge of the batter's box. The pitcher threw a straight fast ball which traveled right over the edge of the batter's box for its entire length.
I can go along with a sharp slider catching the edge of the plate caught by the catcher over the batter's box, being called a strike. After all, it's where the ball crosses the plate, not where it's caught. But too many pitches that are way off the plate are called strikes.
Most of the Little League World Series umps have wide strike zones. The best one that I've seen so far was the one that called Hawaii's opening game.
My son played Little League for 7 years. A few umps were horrible, most were OK, and a few were excellent. The best one ever met with the head coaches of both teams before the game to explain his strike zone: An outside pitch a ball width off the plate will be called a strike, but an inside pitch will not be. No one disputed his calls for the entire game, which was a game between West Oahu and Makakilo. (West Oahu won the LLWS the following year.)
Mexico's shortstop is going places.
The umpires really have a BIG strike zone.......
Another terrible strike zone but this game was hyped up and it delivered on the hype. Great game by both teams.
I mean at least he was consistently calling it. Taiwan definitely abused that more but fair play to them, they were smart and skilled enough to throw outside. Each ump is different and if you’ve played the game you know the strike zone is “somewhere” out there lol.
4:10 that’s a big league play there boys
Kid is gifted for sure.
2 things I took from this: Strike zone wasn’t the same for both teams and the refs seemed to favor Taipei.
Absolutely
They are umpires not refs
Blatant robbery
Shortstop for Mexico is crazy skilled
The home plate umpire in this game was such garbage Taiwan's catcher was literally setting up in the opposite batters box because he knew the umpire couldn't see the strike zone.
That was a brutal game for mexico. I know they're kids, but damn
Watch the hawaii game. Tennessee got whooped.
@@clarkwey7618 yup , Hawaii is just a different beast . I don’t think any international team has a chance
Such a good game besides the b.s calls..Mexico needed to challenge but besides that they did awesome! I appreciate that they didn't give up despite the bad calls..hold your heads up high boys..Good job Mexico!
Lots of errors to
The Strike 3 call at 8:55 is just absolutley brutal!!!!
As well as 9:44
@@noaheggert9352 @ 9:44 the pitch looked way outside of the plate. I remember watching the video live and I thought that was a bad call.
What a great game. Mexican team is scary good, but Taiwan managed to stay more steady and consistent to grind that win. good win Taiwan. I would expect these two teams to meet again in the finals
Can they meet again this year? Finals this weekend and will be international against us. I think it will be Hawaii vs Taiwan
@@fredalzner6502 Yes, Mexico goes into the lower bracket and if they win their next game, they will meet Taiwan again for the international finals, whoever wins that goes to the world series finals against the US team.
Mexico’s catcher had some bad throws that seemed to ruin their morale
And he dropped a few easy pitches too, I agree with you. Kinda killed the momentum
I don’t think he’s really a catcher thou, they might be playing him there because of his hitting
Not a good catcher at all
He didn't block the plate on that one play, throw took him there
@@thebutcher7036 nop, he positioned is body in front of the base runners path at the same time the SS releases the ball, yes the throw made I’m lean even more but he was already obstructing, if you review every other play where he positions himself to receive a throw he is always obstructing, he might not do it on purpose, but he is obstructing
Nice double play by Mexico! Way to recover from the over throw.
homeplate umpire was awful but the umpires in general shafted Mexico as many times as they could.
It was pretty obvious
Everybody knows it's Taiwan which is not part of China. Stop calling it Chinese Taipei.
Can't anger the overlords.
Taiwan wants to be the real china tho
@@chunchunmaru4428 nobody wants to be chinese. Taiwan functions like an independent country, will never be part of china.Wake up.
It’s called Chinese Taipei because Taiwan wants to be called Taiwan but China who still has power over Taiwan wants them to be called the Republic of China, so to make them even, Taiwan in sports is Chinese Taipei
China did not send a baseball team to the LLWS. Taiwan did.🤷🏽
Knew that Taiwan would win this game and everyone was saying that Mexico had it under control. Kudos to Mexico for scoring the first run against Taiwan in 6 games though!
why are they called "Chinese Taipei" instead of Taiwan?
@@thirstypilgrim97 So the CCP doesn't throw a fit
@@thirstypilgrim97 Politics. Even though the team is from Taiwan, many organizations do not want to offend China. It’s sad that Taiwan can’t fully represent themselves
@@neilwu468 why shouldn't they?
@@ruc1922 why shouldn’t Taiwan play as Taiwan? The little league organization probably wouldn’t allow it so they do not upset the Chinese government.
Thanks for share. Congratulations to Taiwan.
Broo i heard the commentator said these are the best umpires in the league 😐 am i missing something🤦🏽♂️🤣
I had to laugh at that one too
They think everything is perfect here lmao
They are just lying to make the Series seem like it has a gold standard or something. These guys are volunteers and not very good at their jobs.
10:32. Damn ump, the catcher is set up in the outside batters box and catchers middle of his body… not a strike bro.
He's lined up so far outside that if the pitcher actually did throw it over the plate it would hit that moron umpire right in the nuts. He's throwing up his hand to call strike the instant the ball hits the glove. He's the worst of the bunch and they've all been really bad.
How would you feel.. doing so well in the LLWS 2-0 then get to this game with an ump with a ridiculously wide strike zone is fucked up....
He's been bad the entire LLWS but at least he's consistently horrible behind the plate. The outside called strikes are unhittable. I wish the commentators would be more verbal about it.
@@darklordojeda yeah true
What’s with ESPN and this “Chinese Taipei?” Look at the parents they all have Taiwan flags and signs. It gets harder and harder to watch ESPN.
Follow the money
Not to pile but the home plate ump has been inconsistent in all games.
That makes it ok?
Thanks Wheels!!! Nice job CT!!!
Why are they calling them Chinese taipei instead of Taiwan. Talk about disrespectful
Mexico Shortshop has a hell of an arm
Really excited for Taiwan, man some of these kids I hope keep playing and see them in the show!

None of the plate umpires have been good that i've seen but this guy is by far the worst of the bunch. He's got the "I've been doing this for years, I can't be wrong" kind of mentality.
Congratulations to Taipei, Taiwan! Boo to ESPN for no such place as China Taipei
what?
@@tyleravery4732 Chinese Taipei doesn't exist, there is no country called Chinese Taipei. What people call Chinese Taipei, is really called Taiwan. Taiwan was formed after a civil war in what we now call China. ESPN is owned by Disney who is in bed with the Chinese (PRC) government.
@@tyleravery4732 Taiwan is an island which claims to be an independent country. Mainland China (People's Republic of China) claims that Taiwan is part of Mainland China. 1---player not hit by pitch 2----runner going back to third was in fair territory; two bad calls
3--- throw took the catcher to the tag, did not block the plate

Disgraceful umpires for such wonderful hardworking kids.
Great performance by young players from Taiwan!!
How do you call strikes in the other box
Jeez this umpires zone is wider than the Grand Canyon
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Little League World Series is such a great sporting event. 👍
It would be better with pro umpires
@@rsn2012 I've watched LLWS for many, many years. Always great, hard fought games, but with polite sportmanship. No ump is ever perfect. But the series itself is always a good investment of time ... for the teams, and the spectators.
@@ge_mail I know they do their best, but they aren't used to the speed in which these games happen. Pitch speed and plays at the bases happen so fast at this level. A 72 MPH pitch 5 inches off the plate is impossible to hit. It can't be called a strike in a legitimate game.
FILLED WITH GARBAGE UMPIRES 🗑️
That ump is badddddddd. Strikes called almost one foot out of the strike zone, common.
The umpires took the game away from Mexico.
el catcher de mexico ayudo mucho...pero a China Taipei ja
un mal dia, a echarle ganas
4:49 wow, this ends up in the opposite batters box.
They’ve done this too many times in this llws. I understand giving them a little bit bigger of a strike zone, but that pitch was in the other batters box
And some people would claim it's the camera angle but that is a terrible argument. Look where he catches the ball, the glove is aligned with his right knee, his right knee is easily 12", if not more, into the opposing batters box. These plate umpires are absolute garbage.
Mexico's catcher and 1st baseman took them out of the game. I've never seen a catcher more afraid of the ball.
I’ve noticed that multiple catchers have not been the caliber as in previous LLWS. I wonder if there is something that has changed across the board to lower the skills of catchers in general?
Also the 3rd baseman too. The lack of hustle when the catcher threw the ball to 3rd and It hit the runner he gave up on the play .
MÉXICO 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
Home plate ump was trash! He basically took over the game by calling those pitches strikes that were four inches of the plate.
That outside plate zone is brutal
México bendiciones 🇩🇴🇮🇹
The plate umpire is horrible. He has no idea of the difference between a strike and a ball.
Mexico arrived after that 10-0 win over Canada and failed to reset for this game.
Ese Jiménez tiene un brazalete 👀💪
This an emotional game don't let it get in your head. Mental breakdown for Mexico after the fake-hitbypitch call.
Whos the umpire Angel Hernandez? 🙄
This umpire killed Mexico
A couple of things I noticed at this year's LLWS. Quite a few passed balls , especially on third strikes. Some dubious umpiring. The strike zone seems extra large and a lot of overturned calls at first. Mainly though I've witnessed some very good sportsmanship from all teams. A great bunch of kids this year.
That’s the biggest difference I’ve noticed is the catchers’ performance in general seems different than previous years. Interestingly, the pitchers seem to be throwing slower than in the past also.
@@colbypitt8895 I agree totally. There used to always seem to be at least one or two guys throwing around 78 mph. And catchers don't seem to be as mobile behind the plate. They don't shift to block pitches outside or in the dirt and are reaching for ball that get by them to easily.
International so much better to watch this year
What is a "Chinese Taipei"?? it's Taiwan. Don't get it twisted
Is volunteer field bigger then the other one?
Thx, Wheels.
why are they called "Chinese Taipei" instead of Taiwan?

Is angel hernandez behind the plate? What’s up with the strike zone Mexico got screwed lol
Gotta congratulate Taipei, they played a great game and deserved the win against the team I thought would play Hawaii at the end.
This isn't real baseball; no blocking the plate or stealing until it gets to the plate. We laughed at these rules as kids
a foot of the plate for strikes?
inconsistent calls, obscure rule changes...I bet most of Little League kids HATE baseball.... I would.
Watching all these game highlights and I can come to the conclusion that these umps suck. Strike Zones are way too big. A bat is only so long.
I know the US probably has more little league teams than other countries, but the Championship game should involve the 2 best teams, not the US VS the winner of everyone else.
The US doesn't have a "US team" to represent the country, it only has independent state teams. So michigan doesn't give a fuck about texas or hawaii, to them it's the same as mexico taking that place.
@@johnlee7377 The winner of the US tournament would represent the country which is how it works in other countries. For example, the team from Japan or Canada is from a specific little league that won their countries tournament. The team is not made up of the their countries best players.
@@rbalara31 yea i understand that and i also understand where you're coming from. But no other country has 50 independent state teams that already won against their local competitions to represent their state in the LLWS.
you're essentially asking these kids to spend even more time away from school/family to play a international tournament, after a long drawn out national tournament, which would be after they won their state tournaments (each state has ALOT of LL teams. california alone has 70 Little league team districts separated into northern and southern sectional tournaments with the regionals champions)
the best/only alternative would be to mix the international teams in with the state teams instead of what it is now, because the US has way too many LL teams and asking them to play like 3 tourneys and a natty before international is too long
Bro these fucken strikes are on the other side of the batter box
Am I crazy or did the Mexico kid in the bottom of the first with the double have a forearm tat🤣
I know that I believe that the Taiwan team can beat the Mexico team because in fact, there is not much difference between the Taiwan team and the Mexican team. It is mainly due to their ability to withstand pressure and psychological quality.
I think the Taiwan team should be able to win the international championship and then play the championship game with Hawaii, but Hawaii is still too strong
Get rid off the Home Ump. His been calling bad calls all tournament 2nd 3rd now home.. Dude sucks!!!
What call did he get wrong at home?
@@ronburgurdy5226 Are you serious?
why does little league call it chinese taipei rather than taiwan?
China bullies international organizations into using Chinese Taipei when referring to Taiwan. it's really quite pathetic
@@d3wbaka Exactly, China has been trying to tell people who don't understand the relationship between China and Taiwan that Taiwan is part of the PRC. It is very likely to affect all Taiwanese athletes if Taiwan wants to do something like using "Taiwan" as our team name. We have no choice since nobody wants to sacrifice the effort of our athletes
