Some economists have projected that both the U.S. and parts of Europe could slip into a recession for a portion of 2024. A global recession, defined as a contraction in annual global per capita income, is more rare because China and emerging markets often grow faster than more developed economies. Essentially the world economy is considered to be in recession if economic growth falls behind population growth.

It is sad to note that the voters in US have been blindly let by their TV stations when they have thinkers like Prof. Wolff and so many others to guide the nation; instead of fearing the loss of bullying other nations. This just results in the nation digging deeper into all kinds of economic problems.

Professor, don't you think that the EU countries have always been the dinner on the American table? The same dinner as Ukraine in terms of human resources. Do you think analysts who order European governors-general to impose sanctions against Russia, which is essentially an autonomous country-civilization, do not understand that Russia has been called Phoenix for centuries, because it has always had natural resources and human potential with great fortitude and knowledge that will always revive Russia, despite any difficulties? Unlike Europe, emasculated in all plans, which will not resist the power of the Anglo-Saxon gang of "gardeners" and will always be ready to sacrifice itself for the sake of the interests of the United States?

Given the persisting global economic crisis, it's essential for individuals to focus on diversifying their income streams independent of governmental reliance. This involves exploring options such as stocks, gold, silver, and digital currencies. Despite the adversity in the economy, now is an opportune moment to contemplate these investment avenues.

The pathway to substantial returns doesn't solely rely on stocks with significant movements. Instead, it revolves around effectively managing risk relative to reward. By appropriately sizing your positions and capitalizing on your advantage repeatedly, you can progressively work towards achieving your financial goals. This principle applies across various investment approaches, whether it be long-term investing or day trading.

The source of the growth in Russia is the decentralization of power that was the norm during the Soviet era. They voted in a new constitution that adopted many principles of the US Constitution. In addition, Russia has a flat income tax rate of 12%. Russia is the largest country in the world, covering 11 time zones. A centralized government is just not practical. Putin was smart in transferring power to the various regions of the country, with a central government that coordinates policy, not dictating it.
Also, unlike the USA, Russia did not mothball its military manufacturing capacity. Russia has been very smart in structuring its manufacturing for dual use. The new defense minister is an economist, not a military man. His mission is to continue this policy of dual use and ensuring that military production is as efficient as possible. Once the war is over, the manufacturing base will be converted back to production that supports economic growth.

Hopefully you in Ukraine pay attention to NATO, that they announced on different occasions and through various leaders that "Ukraine will not be a member of NATO". then you may understand that Zelensky is taking money from the west for his prosperity. Zelensky doesn't care about the Ukrainian people who fight on warzone fields, or who are captives in Russia now. Zelensky provoked Putin in a war that you will never win, Because the world understands that Ukraine was One entity with Russia before the Soviet Union collapsed, And the NATO who are not following the international agreements which prohibit NATO from expanding to East. Regardless of Latvia or other countries who joined the Euro. Ukraine is very known to be the Gate to invading Russia. Thus the world will understand the consequences for Zelensky's actions. He is not even willing to hold elections as long as he is still staying in Ukraine. After the war as any defeated president he will fly to get protection of one of his allies, when he already signed on the selling of Ukraine land to Poland benefit for example. Poland should not push you to fight and push you back to don't export your goods through them to make you unable to pay for the war unless by deserted lands.
Pay attention that Putin threatens and threatens,.. Then when Putin moves, NATO is not ready to sacrifice their prosperity to protect Ukraine. They are only ready to sell weapons to Ukraine and get very wealthy because of that. Remember what Biden said, that the money he uses to fund the Ukraine war is spent in the American defense complex not in Ukraine. And remember how many generals in the army buy goods for the army that are priced 3 times higher than the market price (1/3 for the producer + 1/3 for Zelensky + 1/3 for army generals “army generals who use Soldiers Wifes”). Then Normal people in Ukraine (not the war benefiters) will understand why poor who must die and rich shall get richer.

That's true but an economy controlled by SANE people can still expand without war,, look at China... I don't like the Chinese Communist Party but I don't live there and raising a BILLION people out of poverty in 30 years is pretty impressive and they did it WITHOUT war... that's the main problem with cutthroat capitalist systems, they ALWAYS wring the most production out of the least workers and maintain a significant unemployed population to play wages and benefits against.. Prof Wolff is talking about the great depression, perfect example because I would call it a contraction since Americans could still get products if they could afford them but Wall Street was changing the agricultural paradigm from men with horses and mules to fuel-powered tractors... The fact that the financial class in America couldn't care less about average Americans was exemplified perfectly in the movie The grapes of wrath,, where Farmers unneeded back in Oklahoma or Illinois because their farms were being plowed by tractors instead of them, but there was always jobs in California picking fruit for 10 cents an hour... ALSO the Wall Street plan was for all those unemployed men to be sucked into the military to go and defeat the Soviet Union,, but the way it turned out Wall Street depended on their stooges in Germany and Japan,, with industrial Capital flowing to those militaristic regimes on each side of the Soviet Union who BOTH eventually ended up turning on Wall Street... And Wall Street has not changed their game plan even after those two phenomenal blunders, they're using proxies again with the Ukrainians in Europe and the Taiwanese against the Chinese ... my POINT IS that the Russian economy is picking up because of the military struggle but that growth will be sustained by their solid partnership with the BRICS,, there are activists in the United States also who have the same goal as the Russians and the Chinese which is the destruction of Wall Street and the destruction of Wall Street's brand of cutthroat capitalism...

Yes there may be some differences for some extremely wealthy people because in capitalist country you can do anything if you have money, even it's not allowed by the law. But for people in or under middle class, China is more free. My friends and I have experinces in both China and capitalist countries, and we all agree with that. Wherever socialism has been implemented it always ends in failure, because it simply doesn't make money!!! Here in the United States, our problem isn't capitalism, its corruption versus the having government actually pass policies to optimize quality of life and well being for its citizens!!! Instead here in the United States policies are very, very self destructive and if not changed for the better will lead a Great Depression 2.0!!!!

Prof Wolff has suggested a very interesting PhD project for a political scientist. Analyzing western narratives through media manipulation and then relating the media Zeitgeist or mood to factual economical trends of these targeted countries.
I get a feeling that the better China and Russia were doing, the worse the media mood on these countries becomes.
For more granularity, the PhD student can look at narratives trends and match it against China's or Russia's government policies and the results of those policies, especially when they are dealing with internal and external economic problems. I also have a feeling that the more successful these policies were at dealing with economic problems, the worse the misrepresentations were in western media.

Thank You Danny..love your podcasts and we love Richard Wolff..been following him since the old Occupy Wall St days. If the US insists on having an Elder President..get someone like Richard! He is 82 years old and is as sharp as he was 12 years ago...Thank you for the best interviews..we never miss one. Peace out
