Shine On You Crazy Diamond!
Fantastic stuff. Thanks for the post
Really appreciate this, great work!
The Floyd are generally perceived as being rather faceless but the photo at 3.44 shows them all to be strikingly handsome young guys.
These pictures are simply beautiful & incredible. They really capture the essence of Pink Floyd in their pure, original form. The still at 2:01 is quite striking and foreboding
Nice Thanks for saying that and appreciating them, that's very kind. That's what I'm trying to do, strip away all of the cliches and commercialism to see what was really there. :) Thanks Eridu
In my mind. Syd was like Icarus. He (and many like him) flew too close to the light taking loads of LSD. His wings got torched and he plummeted back down to earth. People were so naive back then about the power of psychedelics.
@@georgemartin4354 ...or any drug for that matter.
Brilliant work again Johnny 👍
Just want to say that I love your work and your channel
Thanks Merijn, extremely kind :)!
2:02 that picture tells it all.
Yes the power had shifted to Roger and Norman Smith, the producer, liked and got along with Roger and the others, not with Syd, so the writing was on the wall. Set the Controls is a good song and I think that changed everything. Thanks Crispr!
Sad but true, but David was meant to be. He IS Floyd.
@@sharonrichards1627 Eh, I disagree but everyone has their opinion. They peaked at Piper for me
Very well done, fine soundtrack. By?
Thanks, this is Unicorn Heads asleep with the sun, I've gotten some negative comments on them by I like their music. I mean it obviously isn't Black Sabbath but they've waived their rights on them and it is free to use (or UA-cam compensated them for their songs) so kudos to them! Anyone who puts that down is severely retrograde :) thanks again!
Unfortunately, Syd Barett had the wrong friends. He hung out with junkies too much. His bad times didn't start with Pink Floyd, as his sister Rosmarie told him. His bad times started with the shared flat he lived in!!! When Syd was thrown out in 1968 because he was no longer able to play the right scale, Syd could have had therapy... But unfortunately he didn't. In 1970, when he released his two solo albums, Syd continued to take drugs... A catastrophe!!! Drug addiction is an illness. Syd Barett could have become something. He failed as a painter and musician. In 1972 he tried again with the group Stars... But it didn't work out. Here, too, Syd had his blackouts during live performances!!! I think his brain had already suffered irreparable damage from the many years of drug use!!! Syd Barett was a talented, gifted young man. Drugs ruined his life. Unfortunately, Syd didn't get out of the car when they took him to the psychiatrist. I don't know if he ever had therapy???
London Polytechnic circa 1965.....
" Jeez, Architecture is boring . I haven't done a tap for the next crit on Thursday. Shall we quit this lark and form a band guys "?
Floyd ain't Floyd without David. Sorry.
It’s Floyd with and without Gilmour, like how it’s Floyd with and without Syd. Your idea sounds like how Roger Waters thought of himself in the eighties, Sorry.
I like large chunks of all of it myself, from all eras
