It seems like Syd actually partially recovered in his from the late 70s and onward. It's sad that Pink Floyd never got to see him in this state.
My guardian angel🍀 My sunshine☀ No matter how difficult the day is, his face makes me smile, gives me peace and so much warmth and makes everything better, his beautiful soul gives me so much strength.. Love you so much Syd💙 Thank you for the lovely video🙏
Yes he was very authentic, throughout his life, and he struggled to stay that way I think. Thanks Ray!
The crazy diamond. Rip Syd ❤
He changed throughout 1967 especially in July and then it got significantly worse in September/October. Reminds me of a school friend that I knew. I remember he was so charismatic, witty and was into art, music, photography but when we came back in September he also changed sometimes he would just stare at the wall and be so isolated and withdrawn like at times with groups of people during lunch; he would just randomly read a book or just write something. Also would be hard to understand or just was anxious and fidgety. I feel Syd might've been in a similar spot where the life of that person is just gone and the spark you once had before isn't there. He did have his problem with Anti-Depressants.
Yes everyone that knew him mentioned the same thing, he was once charismatic and personable and after the summer of 67 he became very withdrawn and he began to reside in his own world, on his own plane. It is in the pictures, I believe, but it's subtle.
I read he was already disturbed from drug use as early as 1965
Great photos mate
Thanks James, much appreciated, as always Best wishes to you there!
The changes throughout 1967 are crazy, but you can tell immediately once they're signed he starts looking more unhappy. I don't think he ever exactly wanted that, I think he was happy enough to be involved with the underground scene.
I mean they day they were signed at 3:13, look at him. It's the first time you see that angry looking face that was so common in late 1967. A few of these are wrong btw, 6:51 is at the 14-hour-technicolor dream, April 30th 1967. The one dated October 1967 at 7:44 is actually around 1970. Also around 8:02, this one is somewhere around games for May, note his hair style is exactly the same.
It's a good video otherwise despite missing a couple photos of him in late 1967, some of which he actually looked pretty happy.
It looks like he started the spiral in mid July but something serious happened between October and November. So sad. Especially the stories of people dosing him unknowingly with huge amounts of LSD. I’ve had taken more than I should of through my years and if you have an underlying mental illness it could trigger something in the brain and you never quite come back.
Yes true, the manager Andrew King said that as well, that in July when he did the Top of the Pop shows, he really came undone and yes, I think he was taking acid all along the way, like many people did at that time, and then he might have taken STP or something stronger that really knocked him for a loop. Thanks Youcan!
Absolutely wonderful stuff man 👍
Thanks Intrepid!
Outstanding work JG 🙏
Thanks Georgie, very much appreciated :)
Thanks for posting this!
You're Welcome TruthRe, thanks for watching!
You can really see trouble brewing in early 1967. I know his lost weekend was in the summer, but I think the seeds were already being planted
Yes true he seems to fade in and out, looking very clear-eyed on some days and very dark and inward on others.
Don't we all
@@bongofury333 to extremes? we don't all
I guess it's true that some people are more set up for this world as it is. Then ADD something...retreat is the order of the day
February 1st, day of signing, you can tell he was having mixed feelings about it. "Lost weekend" was before their final top of the pops show, the one where he's pictured sitting on an eiderdown pillow due to the fact that his feet were cut up too badly
It looks like the later part of 67' Syds eyes changed. He had a very hard look .
Yes some people say that he looks normal but to me he looks dazed and hard yes, his eyes, do, and vacant. It's a subtle thing I think, and the people that knew him sensed he wasn't present, like he had been before. Thanks Lee!
Will you post those trespass era genesis pictures you said you’d post?
Why such somber music
It has depth and mystery , like Syd; I like it and everyone has liked it so far (until now ) :)
I guess what I really am saying is I know the appeal of him is as a tragic figure, but there's also a lot to celebrate about him in an optimistic way.@@johnnygraham4004
Theres one in 1975 where he has a buzz cut and is fat
