Glad she gave them pointers on what to do in how to revise their application instead of flat out denying the family without having all of the details/facts.
I was biting my fingernails during this time Joe and Chloe were going through this adoption interview. I was relieved when they said the paperwork was going through for Javi's adoption.
This scene was heartwrenching. Leon made one bad choice and they wanted to penalize Joe and Chloe for it. I understand the whole "gang affiliation" thing but she literally brought up old problems from 8 years ago. 😒😒😒 Do more research first
While that's true, I don't think any of us want to live in a world where the people whose entire job is to look out for the well-being of children to take gang affiliations lightly, even if it was 8 years ago. They should be thorough, especially given how much abuse of foster/adopted children still happens.
This was just absolutely unnecessary drama. It had me stressed out and everything. I was gonna be pissed at this lady and at Leon if the adoption didn't go through.
As much as Joe wanted to appear perfect to adopt Javi, hiding info about Leon’s past was only ever going to make things worse. As hard as it is sometimes - telling the truth will help you, more often than acting like you have something to hide - especially in this scenario.
I get where she was coming from. Her first priority is to make sure the child is safe. But she should’ve already known that Joe & Chloe would never put their child in danger
@@ClonetrooperCaptainocial workers harassed and threatened my family since I was six years old They tried to intimidate and threaten me into signing papers One time I was reading a form that a social worker asked me to sign and they snatched it out of my hands So i refused to sign the form until I was allowed to read the form when I was visiting my parents my dad made sure that I got to read the form it turns out that they were threatening my entire family with jail time if I didn't sign it and it was a form to have my mum and dad's parental rights taken away So i asked my dad to keep the form well hidden in the house and during court he showed the form to a judge Luckily enough the form was scrapped and the social workers were told by the judge to not ask any of my family to sign any more forms when I turned 18 they would not allow me to go back to live with my parents so I began to act like a juvenile delinquent I got myself out of that situation ME I DID
You know before we found out that you know who came back, mentioning Leon made me believe that he might come back even though he was supposed to stay out of Chicago after working with the police to arrest a gang member

I was about to lose my cool if she would've said that they weren't to let Joe and Chloe adopt Javi! 🤨

So sad we did not see Cruz brother in this episode.

Calm down. It was justified.

She was just doing what any real life social worker woulda done. Making sure the child was safe

sadly that's not how the world works. The Social Workers responsibility is first to keep the child safe.
