The one thing that really helped me was Forwago because it made me change the way I think and look at everything.

For me growing up, my Mother reserved Sunday for church and rest. I thought it was rather provincial. About two months ago ( and thirty years later), I decided that I would reinstate Sunday as self-care day because I now see what my mother was trying to teach me: we must continually and intentionally rest and take care of our body, mind, and soul. Your reminder of this today is greatly appreciated.💚
Couldn't agree more :) I'm so happy I reinstated it recently. Thanks so much for your kind comment as always 🤗🍃🍵 Enjoy your weekend AND your sunday tomorrow!
I would surely not go to church every Sunday. In fact am not a church goer. Find it too much indoctrination. However, I lead a good and joyful life, showing gratitude, not living up to the expectations of what other people think what I should /must do. Unless of course if it is legal requirements.
Yeah sunday should be dedicated to rest and self care of ur body... But giving 1-2hrs in a week to god by going to church wouldn't cause harm... In fact it may help u to take care of ur soul...
@@Nikita-nt4qk I more than take care of my soul. By being a good person, having gratitude, being honest and other good traits. One does not have to go to church on a Sunday to do things to be a good person and things for ones soul. One can go into a chuch, temple, mosque or..... any day to worship. Besides not everyone is Christian are they?
I see no personal benefits of church, so I don’t do that on Sunday and won’t ever again. My soul needs a different type of communion with God Universe, so I incorporate that in my self-care.
I love the no screens before bed rule! I have no screen Sunday’s about twice a month. It really helps me detox and get back into a mindful state. Thanks for a great video! 🤗❤️
Props to this woman. If you are trying to lose weight, NEVER stare yourself. It might seem "okay" to you; but it is not the answer. If you stare yourself because you are insecure about your weight, try exercising. I tried staring myself and it was not good. I starved myself for about 4 hours. Yes, I'm a 10 year old girl who is telling you that you should have faith in yourself. Have a good day/night everyone!
So many normal routines have been interrupted. So trying to get come normal routines is very helpful I think. And having a job, supportive freinds family and leaning on them supporting each other. Excersize makes you feel better and improves health. Trauma dogs work and nature especially being in the forest.
I've recently started a new habit around shopping that I would like to share. *I often think of ideas when I'm at home of things I would like to buy, from a plant to maybe an essential oil, then when I'm out & about I forget all these ideas. (This is not for food items, but anything else) . So now i have a tiny pretty note book, which I write all these purchase ideas into. Then take this whenever I go for a day out or into town. Then I have a quick look through whilst out & it really triggers my memory as to the items I would like or need. It works well as often I get home & think oh I was in a certain store today & totally forgot to look for a certain thing which may have been cheaper there than anywhere else. It also clears my mind from trying to remember what I need.
Thanks for sharing Katherine! Yes I also keep a wish list :) It also helps with minimalism because it makes me really think if I need the item before buying it
Taking some time for myself, a self-care and self-love day ♡ doing only whatever feels right. It's so necessary, more like a reset to start the week with the best energy and being so much more productive
I do agree about exercise! You have to take into account that a decade of life will alter how much exercise your body can take. You might face illness or osteoarthritis and be unable to keep the exercise routine you once had. It should be no big deal, as you have said Vera, to even completely abandon the routine and replace it with ‘intuitive’ exercise. That is brilliant. As long as you are doing something, you can check that off as a ‘personal care’ task completed. Great topic!
Heart of Kentucky. Hello Vera. I am watching your videos, and I can see, it would have been good to have looked at them, before now! With the woes of the world, you remind me that there is a better way. I still pray for you and your mother. Love you, Katie.
I've started intuitive exercise this year and finding I'm doing more as there's no pressure on days i dont do much & i feel no guilt & am happier when I do somthing encouraging me to do it more often 🙂 great life tips x
Yes, series please!!! Lovely tips!! Sunday is, funny enough, quite a busy day for me. During this quarantine + Eid Mubarak holiday, I tried no-gadget-Saturday for the first time, and I really appreciate what I did to my self, it feels like a total self-care to me.. I am intending to do it as a habit, intuitively decide how many time should I do no-gadget-Saturday monthly. And yes I agree with intuitive exercise. I am a part-time gym class instructor myself, so it’s expected for me to always look fit, do fit. But sometimes, I just don’t feel like doing any exercise; and just do some stretching before/after sleep.
Thank you, Vera for the lovely videos and helpful tips. Watching your videos helps me in time of need for self care, and reminds me to slow down and take care of myself. I wish you well 🌿
I absolutely love 💕 self-care Sundays… I get up early and go to the market… It’s nice and peaceful before all the craziness starts and I can take my time and make good 🍎healthy choices. I use Sundays to meal prep my lunches 🥗for all week while I am at work… So that I am eating healthy 🥬 sustainable foods. Sunday is a day of meditation and peace and quiet… It’s like a little mini vacation for your heart and your soul… ✨🙏🏻✨✨❤️✨✨☺️✨
I’m the same way.. I’m an introvert and I love my solitude.. I read, listen to my favorite music and walk in nature.. and Sundays are perfect for just that :)
Yes, healthy habits is an awesome subject to continue. You can never go wrong with healthy living. My traditional Zen Buddhist practice revolves around good mindful habits. Living healthy, mindfulness, minimalism, meditation, and Zen Buddhism go well together. For me, one cannot exist without the others.
They all compliment each other well :) BTW have you read Jongey Mingyur Rinpoche's latest book, called In love with the world yet? I found it really great
@@SimpleHappyZen Yes I have and it is really a good book. It frames death, dying, and living in a most intriguing light. I myself am not afraid of death or dying. We all die but very few of us actually ever take the time to live. I would recommend "In Love With The World" to anyone who is in it for a really good reading experience.
I wish I had been as wise as you are when I was your age. Unfortunately I kept up the workaholic behavior pattern until I burned out at 55 years of age. It has taken me 6 years to recover my health and now I am looking for ways to change my behavior-better late than never right? Thank you for sharing your insights. I am implementing as many as I can and hope to lead a happier and more zen life going forward.
Thanks for sharing Brenda, so sorry to hear about your burnout but I'm glad you've recovered :) For me it took me a long time to recover from my burnout as well, so I know what that's like. I've learned we have the key to take good care of ourselves and we owe it to ourselves to do just that :) Makes life a lot more fun too haha
Thanks Becka :) I always try to include things that are not already seen in lots of other videos, so people will hopefully always learn something new :)
I will definitely be adding the self care Sunday, it easily fits into our schedule. Minimalism is new to me, but my husband is basically a minimalist and I appreciate the life style. I do think it's great for my stress, and before I got sick with PTSD I lived my life as chill as possible.
A healthy habits series would be great. I appreciate your perspective, and your willingness to embrace your intuition. It is such an amazing gift we all have yet ignore. Thank you for such a positive video.
Wonderful. Love all your vids, but yes please, more of this, and never worry about repeating yourself - we need to hear it many times. Thank you for being you and sharing that with us. ❤
I love the idea of self care Sunday’s. I usually take one day on the weekend for R and R. I too work long hours during the week and need time alone. I do get enough sleep.... I would love more tips. I find them very helpful. I also do yoga but very inconsistently.... thank you, I love your channel.
Such a useful video! I love the idea of intuitive excise. I've been trying to do it- more walking in the nature and less gym, which I hated- and it feels much more balancing. I'll try to incorporate the timed pauses as well because like you Vera I tend to forget my physical needs once I get into work, but by the end of the day I don't feel so good. Thank you, and please keep making health related videos. Love them!
Thanks so much Margit and good luck with the intuitive exercise! I'm exactly the same way with working and taking breaks, it's easy for me to work like a maniac all day and then get a massive headache when I decide to call it quits. The scheduled breaks work wonderfully :)
I like the no screens before bedtime! I found reading an actual book at night is much better! I think a series would be amazing! Please and thank you! 😊
Thank you so much for this video. I've paid therapists hundreds of dollars just to teach me half of everything i learned in this video for free! God bless you!
Another video that I like. Congrats. The format is good, the messages are clear and direct. I like it and even if some advices are common known, your video is kind of refreshing. Thank you.
You just changed a lot of perspective. This is a great short video I gave my time to. Nice. Video is full of things we know. But narrated in the best comprehensive way.
i love murakami! i find what you said about being your own worst critic and completing your to-do list at the expense of your feelings very relatable. same goes for taking breaks to sip tea in the sunshine -- it's one of my favorite things. thank you for your videos -- i'm glad i found your channel. :)
Thank you Vera for this video. I am the type of person who just doesn't stop. I have been trying to sleep in on my days off and I am going to start a Self Care Sunday too! This video give so much self encouragement.😘
Thanks so much! It doesn't have to be a whole day, I can't take a whole Sunday every week either. So even if it's just an hour of you-time here and there, could be wonderful 🍵🌷😊
I’m absolutely in love with your ideas! ...probably because I have always made Sundays “my day” and Mondays have always been my “reflection day” based on my prior week. It’s so great...the workout mindset?! I LOVE IT and I’ll definitely incorporate that :) thank you
Neglected to say you’ve got a subscriber in me! Thanks for taking time to respond as well :D why do I feel star-struck? Lol I’ll be looking into more of your content for sure :)
Hi i am an introvert too. So i love to spend time alone but as you said feelings surface. How to go through that all alone instead of going out and being drained. Pls do a video on this.

I loved the idea of self care Sundays! I think I'm gonna implement it on my weekly schedule, by at least having all Sunday mornings for myself. Also, I'm glad to find another introvert person, because that means your habits could work really well for me. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
I love your self care suggestions. They are so much more doable than others suggestions from other youtubers. I had never heard of intuitive exercise before. After learning about it through you I am a whole lot more motivated to exercise. Exercise has always been very difficult for me due to my busy schedule and family life so this is a great way to adapt it. Thank you for all your tips. I would love to see a series on more healthy habits.
Thank you so much Juliette, so glad you enjoyed the video and found the suggestions doable :) I think it's so important to find ways to make things easier for ourselves instead of talking about habits that are so hard to adapt and maintain. So I'm glad it was helpful for you :)
Lovely video Vera, yes as many Healthy Habits as you can think of !!!!! all your ideas are so interesting & meaningful, my life has greatly improved with your help xx
Hahaha thanks Perihan. I like to change up my background every now and then, but I think you just happened to watch a few with the same background in a row :)
I recently discovered your channel and i am obsessed. I love also this video so much because of how you plan everything. It's so calming and reduces the pressure to push yourself to do things. Great video as always, Yes would love to see more healthy habits video. I love no screen before going to bed, and self care Sunday. Very aspiring tips , I work 10 hrs 4 days a week. This was genuinely interesting and original. We are all well acquainted with the tips many youtubers give -drink more water, exercise... but yours were really innovative and interesting. I’ll try and implement some of your ideas in my routine. :)
Aw thanks so much, that was exactly what I had in mind when I created this video. I'm always thinking of sharing original tips and suggestions :) So that people can learn new things instead of what they can already find all over youtube :)
How did you explain to the people around you that you need alone time? I have trouble making people understand it without them feeling like I don't care for them. I love your entire video! I will surely incorporate many of your advice in my life :)
Hey there! Actually the people around me know me so well, they immediately understood my need for alone time. Ever since I was a little girl, I would often be in my room with a cup of tea and a book. So it wasn't a surprise for them. But with these things, I think it's important to communicate and talk about it from your own perspective. Try to explain that you need this alone time to unwind, relax and recharge. That is has nothing to do with not wanting to be around them, it only has to do with your innate need to be alone every once in a while. Introverts need that, and there's nothing wrong with that :)
I already have two more healthy habits videos! :) Right here ua-cam.com/video/XxIdBt-fUdE/v-deo.html and right here ua-cam.com/video/WWG4AnEOtYs/v-deo.html

Vera...I am a recovering perfectionist and it is so helpful to see that there is hope for me. thank you.
I like the no screens before bedtime! I found reading an actual book at night is much better! I think a series would be amazing! Please and thank you! 😊
Thanks so much Tasia 😀💫
Love relaxing/self care Sunday! Great viedo 👍
Thanks Lisa! Happy self care day! :)
Thank you so much for this video. I've paid therapists hundreds of dollars just to teach me half of everything i learned in this video for free! God bless you!
Aw thank you :) I'm glad it was helpful for you. Take care and have a nice day!
As a highly sensitive person, I really find these tips and habits useful. Thank you for sharing.
Another video that I like. Congrats. The format is good, the messages are clear and direct. I like it and even if some advices are common known, your video is kind of refreshing. Thank you.
Thank you so much, happy to hear you appreciated the video! :)
You just changed a lot of perspective. This is a great short video I gave my time to. Nice. Video is full of things we know. But narrated in the best comprehensive way.
Thanks so much :)
i love murakami! i find what you said about being your own worst critic and completing your to-do list at the expense of your feelings very relatable. same goes for taking breaks to sip tea in the sunshine -- it's one of my favorite things. thank you for your videos -- i'm glad i found your channel. :)
Thank you so much! :) That's so nice.
Thank you Vera for this video. I am the type of person who just doesn't stop. I have been trying to sleep in on my days off and I am going to start a Self Care Sunday too! This video give so much self encouragement.😘
I'm so glad the video was helpful for you Lucy! Please enjoy a self care sunday soon and be extra friendly towards yourself :)
I love your "Self Care Sunday" I do hope I can spare my sundays same as you do, like "me time" since I'm a mom of three😊 such an inspiration Ms.Vera
Thanks so much! It doesn't have to be a whole day, I can't take a whole Sunday every week either. So even if it's just an hour of you-time here and there, could be wonderful 🍵🌷😊
Wow! I love the idea of journaling in the future sense...I must try that.
Yes would be very interested other tips you have. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks! I made a series so there's more tips to watch :) ua-cam.com/video/WWG4AnEOtYs/v-deo.html
I’m absolutely in love with your ideas! ...probably because I have always made Sundays “my day” and Mondays have always been my “reflection day” based on my prior week. It’s so great...the workout mindset?! I LOVE IT and I’ll definitely incorporate that :) thank you
So glad you liked the video and the ideas :D Thank you!
Hi there Piasi! :) Maybe this video could be helpful for you. I talk about how to deal with stress, but the same principle applies to other negative emotions like sadness. I hope it's helpful for you: ua-cam.com/video/-XszLDmKyyA/v-deo.html

Yin pillow yoga looks SO cozy and comforting :)
Yes it is!!! Makes your body feel like jell-o haha. in a good way
I loved the idea of self care Sundays! I think I'm gonna implement it on my weekly schedule, by at least having all Sunday mornings for myself. Also, I'm glad to find another introvert person, because that means your habits could work really well for me. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
You're very welcome Sergio, have fun with selfcare Sunday!!
Thank you for the tips! Please do a part two
There's actually an entire playlist now :) ua-cam.com/play/PLpDAC25h6PC9yUZzZDyiOsdxClX6e6107.html
Excellent tips! I love that you always give achieveable, practical ideas. Thank you :)
Thanks so much Sel Jay, that's always one of the things I strive towards when I create videos :)
Great tips. You are so inspiring and your voice is so inspiring.
Thanks so much Julie :) Have a great week!
Love to see series of this type of video please. Thanks for your wonderful videos.
Thank you Suzanne! 😄🌷🌱
Thank you for your reminders. I really like the one of describing how you felt about getting things done in the future. That’s motivating to me!

You're very welcome Irene, glad it was helpful for you. :) Take care my friend!

I just looked up the organic cotton company I love it thank you for mentioning it.....lucky you to get free stuff
You're welcome! Yes I'm really happy with the products I got, wear them all the time :)
I recently discovered your channel and i am obsessed. I love also this video so much because of how you plan everything. It's so calming and reduces the pressure to push yourself to do things. I find that when i push myself everytime to do something i don't feel like i get in a bad mood and i find it difficult to put my mood back to positivity
So thank you soo much ❤️
From 🇿🇼
Thank you so much Trish and welcome to the channel! 🤗🌷
Thank you for this! Yes I'd love to hear more on this topic!

Thanks so much Vladimir :) Have a wonderful day! And feel free to check out my Healthy Habits & Self Care playlist for more
@@SimpleHappyZen I'm sure you're saturated with messages... but a comment... it's interesting how peace of mind and wisdom have so little to do with one's age. I feel I learn a lot from your channel, even though I'm quite a bit older than you. That's wonderful.
If you like Murakami you must like cats... I do... and also have Murakami on my shelves.
I love you and your channel.
Recently discovered your channel

You're very welcome :D
Hey....Couldn't connect more with uh!!Like I m also very hardworking that I always forget to cherish myself for my accomplishments even on my bad days and constantly focusing on checking things off my to do lists. I probably never allow myself to feel that day I truly want for myself.U have given me a feeling of being OKAY to have more fun!! to sometimes work less!!Thanks a ton...And talking about the video...I really love the idea of INTUITIVE EXERCISE and now I m very excited to take that into practice. Even the rest of all the habits I can surely connect...And will try best to put them in my life slowly and steadily. All these habits I can also consider as self care habits for myself:)
A new subscriber😁😊
Thank you so much! I'm so happy the video was helpful for you :) Have a lovely day!
Yes I liked this video because I need to do more self care. So make more. You also mentioned a journaling thing you do but I don't see the link. The little bubble came up on the screen but I wanted to keep watching but then it was gone. Thank you.
Thanks so much Aleta! :) The bubbles only come up a short time. But they stay in the video for the entire length. If you click on the little 'i' icon in a circle in the corner of the video, you can find all the videos I've linked. In this case, it was my video for having a mindset for success. You can watch it here if you like :) ua-cam.com/video/zrzGqWGffkk/v-deo.html
Great video as always, Yes would love to see more healthy habits video. I love no screen before going to bed, and self care Sunday. Very aspiring tips , I work 10 hrs 4 days a week. I like that 10 minutes break tips, like you I forgot sometimes to take a break, like walk or go to the bathroom. From now on I will set a time for a break at least 10 mins from the screen. I worked as a Accounts Payable Specialists for a big company that have so many hospitals here in North Texas. Thanks for this great video. Have a great week.... ♥️♥️♥️ Jennifer
Thank you so much Jennifer and I'm glad the scheduled breaks tip was helpful for you! I just posted a new healthy habits video yesterday: ua-cam.com/video/WWG4AnEOtYs/v-deo.html
@@SimpleHappyZen thanks ,I will check it out ♥️♥️♥️ Jennifer
This was genuinely interesting and original. We are all well acquainted with the tips many youtubers give -drink more water, exercise... but yours were really innovative and interesting. I’ll try and implement some of your ideas in my routine. :)
Aw thanks so much, that was exactly what I had in mind when I created this video. I'm always thinking of sharing original tips and suggestions :) So that people can learn new things instead of what they can already find all over youtube :)
You have a great sense of peace about you. Love it!
Thank you so much! :)
I am in my 10 min off watching this video! .) LOVE your canal! greetings from Colombia! doei!
Thank you so much! :)
@@SimpleHappyZen Thank you so much for your reply! I guess communication really is key... I will take your advice and explain it this way next time :)
I didn't pass the advertisement as a form of thanks for Vera. Keep inspiring us with your preety soul 😊😘
