Every time i got mipha's grace I would somehow die in a stupid way.Maybe link and I miss her so much that we can't resist not seeing her every second we can.
I noticed you edited your comment after I replied. In case this means you took it offensively or literally, I was trying to make a joke. I'm bad at those...
Mipha is the only one that really makes you realize “shit they’re actually dead” cause with the others, their villages baisically forgot about them. But Mipha wasnt forgotten at all
The other villages didn’t forget their respective champions, they just never met them but still held them in high, even legendary regard. But of course with Mipha it’s different because the Zora live so long, so you feel how tragic it was. With Daruk and Urbosa, you could tell they died as proud warriors, so the game doesn’t portray their deaths as sad
For the people who did not read Zora's Domain's history. It adds to the story. So apparently when they found out about the divine beasts, Mipha really wanted to control it, so her father let her. He regrets that decision and after learning that she does not come back, they wanted to float her trident down the river as a sign of respect, however, they heard her voice through the trident. I think they gave the trident to Link so she can be close to him.
I think Lady Miphas story has the most emotion behind it, mainly because her family is still alive and mourning. She seems like such a lovely girl who truly cared about all the Zora.
Yup, without a doubt the Mipha/Zora part of the game was the most complex out of the rest. All of the characters have some sort of “character relationship” with Link, but it’s definitely clear that Link’s closest tie was with Mipha, and the game shows that she clearly had feelings for Link. It affects the audience because we know she never got the chance to let him know before dying to Calamity Ganon
*"Mipha ... Dear sister ... Are you still trapped inside the Divine Beast? I wish you were here to guide me ... I miss you terribly.."* Sidon said that while looking up at his sisters statue.. it seriously made my tear up ;-;
If you visit Zoras domain again, follow him and listen/speak if he is in front of the statue. He only has this dialogue if you have defeated the divine beast
Van Ruta was my first divine beast. I heard Mipha's story and thought, "No way Nintendo would just kill of such a sweet person, probably when I beat the divine beast Mipha comes back because she was just trapped in the divine beast." Nope. I was wrong. I felt so sad and guilty I couldn't save her. Why Nintendo?
I had the exact same experience and feel the same way. I thought her healing magic would somehow play a role in her resurrection. Maybe there would be some kind of escort mission to her body. Then they could live a happy life together.
This was the only character I was wishing for who would stay alive during the great calamity. It's coz I like the sweetness of her voice and her music theme. I'd say kill off zelda and bring back mipha.
Bruh same, every time I hear Mipha's theme I think about how much she didn't deserve this and I thought she would get more of a happy ending, but no and that broke me
if you ever go back and talk to the Zora King after completing the dungeon he will talk about his memories of Mipha and then just stop and say "You know...she really did love you." That fucking destroys me. The first character in the entire series to straight up confess her love for Link and she fucking dies. WHY NINTENDO
ShadowRaptor1O1 Well, I guess first if you discount Ruto from the equation... Mipha... Even if they got together in the first place she'd just end up outliving Link by decades because she's a Zora... They age and live much longer than Hylians. He probably would have passed by the time she'd reach adulthood. It's just so hearwrenching. (I mean, the guard at the front of the domain is 130 for pete's sake!)
Well, the girl in Link's Awakening (forgot her name) was canonly in love with Link and they actually had a relationship, but at the end she was a dream so...
I don't see why so many people insist Ruto was to be taken seriously. Ever since I was little I interpreted it more as her and Link making a promise as a child, and then as an adult, it was more for somewhat of a comedic or "oh, right" moment because Link had probably not expected her to follow through. I was surprised when I first came to the internet and saw so many people unironically shipped Link and Ruto.
When I wore the Zora armor and Sidon told me that Mipha made it for the man she would like to marry... the fact it was a perfect fit... the fact.. she loved Link. That moment brought me into tears. Defeating Waterblight with the hope that Mipha was still alive. Learning that that thing was her demise. Was the most heartbroken I've ever felt in a game. Mipha, like many other characters in the game, hold a special place in my heart
Made even more sad by the newest DLC, which adds a diary for each Champion that can be found in each of the cities. Mipha was literally going to propose in a few days... then the Calamity struck.
I think she gonna say that she links about someone she deeply cares about or loves aka link that would make more sense for her to say in actual cutscene
a theory i saw said that ganon cut her off for a reason, as what she was going to say (something along the lines of focusing on link or people she love) would've given Zelda what she needed to get her powers. It works, as Zelda gets her powers while protecting link
Miphas tale is quite sad when you think about it, she and Link grew real close during childhood, and then one day he just left for several years only to come back a completely changed man due to new found responsibilities, and before she can confess how she feels, she dies only to be saved by the person she loves 100 years later, which is made all the worst by the fact that he has no memory of anything.
If it's any consolation, there's a little quirk with the German translation of BotW - Dorephan says that Link and Mipha were already engaged at the time of the calamity, which suggests that the Zora armor doesn't function like an engagement ring, but it's still special enough that Mipha decided to put off giving it to him until after the calamity, just in case. At that point only Dorephan would have known of their engagement. At least in the German canon lol Mipha was aware of and had accepted her nontrivial odds of dying, since she made sure to tie things off with Sidon before she left. Once she was gone, I don't know how much awareness of events she had as a spirit, but she probably felt no hope of ever seeing Link again. He was supposed to seal the darkness with Zelda, and the lingering calamity suggested he failed. Even if he somehow wasn't dead, he probably would have died of old age in the 100 years that passed. Imagine how she felt when Link just up and showed up one day. She was probably tense about him having to face Waterblight, but once that was over, it was probably one of the happiest days of her existence, being freed, being able to finish the job she had left unfulfilled in life (which was incredibly important to her), and by some weird twist of fate being able to see the love of her life again just as an added gift. Still, Link's lost memories were sad. In the DLC Mipha tries pretty desperately to get him to remember more about his time with her, but she gives up and leaves him to his new life without saying more. If they were in fact engaged, it would be tragic if Link remembered one day and realized he still needed to say some things to Mipha, but by then her spirit had long since moved on with the other champions. Her lingering spirit and Link's ability to use Mipha's Grace were like a last hurrah for her, and both seem to be completely gone by TotK. I'm not exactly sure how the afterlife works in The Legend of Zelda - a lot of references to that sort of thing in the games I've played in the series are heavily metaphorical, but spirits can still clearly retain their independence in some cases. Rauru in TotK seems to disappear for good a couple of times, but he still comes back at important moments, so it might not be impossible that Mipha's spirit could appear again. Mipha told adult Sidon in Age of Calamity though that she was certain they would see each other again, which seems difficult to interpret metaphorically, so maybe she knew something we as the player aren't privy to but which is common knowledge in Hyrule. In any case, I think there's a next thing for Mipha, and she probably sees Link again eventually, even in the timeline where she dies.
Is it just me who feels very sad when Miphas theme plays? It’s just... She’s been waiting for him for 100 years and, still loves him even though she knows that it’s impossible for them to be in a relationship so she helps him the only way she can; putting some of her soul into links because even though they probably will never meet again she will always be with him, and with her healing gift she will always be there to protect him... Too deep? Ok. It’s still sad tho
I wonder if once Mipha disintegrated at the end of the game does that mean that the last little bit of her soul lives in Link or do we lose her power along with all the other Champions powers?
*Once this whole thing is over, maybe things can go back to how they used to be when we were young.* *You know...* *Perhaps we could spend some time together.*
Even more sad with the newest DLC, which adds a diary for each Champion in the major cities. She literally was going to propose to him in a few days... and then the Calamity struck.
Never have I ever been emotionally invested in a character and relationship before. That shows you how well written a character such as Mipha is, and most of it comes from implications the game doesn't directly tell you. It is truly indescribable beauty.
I think in terms of backstory she's fine (hence the implications statement). In fact she probably has the most story out of all the champions. Agree with you on the VA though.
There was some build up to Mipha's character before you meet her in present time. There were the walls written by the Zora king which talked about events of the past. I remember reading one that said how proud he was that his daughter was the Zora champion, and then reading another one of him grieving that his daughter was trapped inside the beast and how he regrets letting her go. Made me really sad and it was a good detail the developers added to the game to make me feel more connected to the characters. Also the fact that every old Zora hating your guts for what you did to Mipha didn't help.
im so sorry, ive lost my grandma to cancer and i miss her, but i cannot imagine losing the one person you care for so dearly to cancer. i send my deepest condolences.
I was all excited to meet the champions only to find out they all died...Poor Mipha, can you imagine she had to fight that thing while being trapped and all alone?
Mipha is by far my favorite characters (waifu) of the game (and in the entire series) maybe she's a monster fighter with a spear, but REALLY did you see the spear of that thing?? obviously, she ad no chance against the blight.. even daruk can't take a blight
i absolutely love mipha's theme. it has that "soft and delicate" feel like mipha does. makes me really wish she and the other champions were still alive. :(
As much as I wish they weren't dead, I love the feelings I get from each one knowing their dead. For some reason I feel if they were "revived" or something that would ruin all the sadness I feel with mipha, urbosa(or however you spell it lol), and duruk. Then the bird guy kinda bugs me.
I felt so bad, especially at the very end when you defeat Ganon. You can see the king and all the champion's spirits disappear, gone forever and it's just sad
It's all them Champions for me. Especially Urbosa. If she was still alive I'd be begging. On my knees. Please let me be her best friend. Just one day of me being her best friend would give me all the power I need to succeed in life.
I would never break her trident. Yes, you can fix it but it will never be the same. The new one would just be like a remodeled Zora spear. It won't be Mipha's anymore.
@@skibbledebabble1853 in case you're still struggling with it, you need to climb up the water fall, glide down to the pedestal and press y right before you land on it
Playing tears of the kingdom now and parts of this theme kicked in at the top of Ploymus mountain. Was not expecting it, so when I heard it and all the memories for 5-6 years ago flooded in I started tearing up.
It's genuinely one of my favorite places in TOTK. I have a picture of the statue in my house It's weird seeing one of botw's champion when totk goes out of its way to avoid mentioning them
@@nailisee I understand that people should let the dead rest but the fact everyone stopped caring/talking about the champions (mostly) between the jump of BOTW to TOTK is a little odd.
I got really pumped up during the Waterblight Ganon fight, because I thought killing him would make Mipha revive. It was my first dungeon, so I didn't know. Made me so sad.
When I was fighting silver Bokoblins in Akkala, there was a moment where I got killed, and she revived me. Seconds after, I executed a perfect dodge. Seeing Mipha standing right behind Link in the slow motion made me choke up a little.
Hey wanna learn another sad fact: Mipha had a statement saying: I'll finally meet my fate same with Ruta, she could be referring to Vah Ruta but let's not forget Ruto also fell inlove with the hero of time
I always get teary eyed whenever I hear that little melody (0:08). I love this game but damn it just hits home that she loved Link and the final time he sees her is right after he frees her. Link is said to not show emotion for reasons but we all know the sadness he felt when remembering Mipha.
Hello, Link. Because of your courage, my spirit is now free. And Ruta, as well. Thank you. For I am now allowed by this freedom... to be with you once again. Since I am now a spirit, my healing power would be wasted on me. I have no need of it. So therefore... I would like you to have it. Please accept... Mipha's Grace. Yesterday, I was awash in a pool of tears. I had nearly given up hope and resigned myself to being trapped here, as a spirit, for the rest of eternity. But now you're here. All this time, my hope... was to see you once more. Promise me that you will not hesitate to call upon my power if you ever find yourself in need. Knowing that... will let my spirit rest in peace. I must go. Ruta and I have our roles to fulfill. We are both honored to be able to play the role of support. We'll annihilate Ganon together. Farewell. Save her, Link. Save the princess... Save Princess Zelda.
we can't blame link , overwhelmed by his pain , he did his duty . he had to save the princess of hyrule no matter what was happening . none can blame him . just it's really sad . it's also really sad that , 100 years later , he forgot everything about her :(
i know severals tloz were dark , but this dark and epic , i don't think :o . i mean , the only time we saw the ruins of a hyrule who was part of the past was the wind waker :o
Templar Blonic sez: DEUS VULT! Lmao, *walks outside in the middle of a thunderstorm* I mean bruh how does Mipha never speak up abt Link being an absolute dumbass? Lmaoo- like, come on.. Mipha please just tell him walking into freezing water wasn’t a good decision smh.
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Lady Mipha the kind? I thought not, it's not a story the Hylians would tell you. It's a zora legend. Lady Mipha was a princess of the zora so wise and so kind, she could manipulate the power of he goddess to....preserve life. She had such a knowledge of healing powers she could keep the champions she cared about from dying. She became so powerful, that the only thing she cared about was losing the ones she loved...which eventually of course she did. Unfortunately, she put all of her power into the divine beast, which would then go on and kill her. Ironic. She could save others from death. But not herself.
I never cried that much for a character from The Legend of Zelda. Mipha's death almost brought me to depression. I mean - she is the sweetest Champion, so shy, but still so strong.
Don't care if you wrote this 2 years ago but as for revenge I made sure I beat the hell out of waterblight ganon, that was the only time I was at peak of my anger limit.
The romance between Link and Mipha felt more natural than anything Zelda felt for Link. I feel like Zelda loved Link in a more family sense, where Mipha loved Link as one would love a partner.
Kenzie Alexander I just don't understand in the games befor BotW Link and Zelda was "together" so every link exept the first is the brother of Zelda so why isn't he together with an other girl which loves him too? I'm sorry if the text is kind of strange because I'm German.
ST Zelda felt something too. But I believe Link didn't always ends up being in love with Zelda. There's a theory who imply TP Link is OOT Link and Malon's son.
uhm yeah , but i really love also Revali's story and the rivalty he had with Link . also Zelda and the king Roham is also great , as shown in link's memory .
sometimes I just Stare at her statue and think about how she died, how horrible it might've been, she might've called for link and no one came. Ruta became possessed and she was trapped in there for 100 years not able to be free and trapped within a somewhat carcus of her divine beast, something that she clearly did care for. when I tried to save her it was 100 years too late. I honour her memories by placing a silent princess every time I pass by her statue and often teleport to Ruta to try and catch a glimpse of her to no avail. she was the first divine beast I ever completed and I am seriously angry that I had no power to save her, she was technically just a child. she fought for hyrule but was defeated and killed.
Mipha was over 100 years old during the Great Calamity and if she survived and none of it happened she would have married link and become a widow at 180 years I think it was best as awful as it sounds for Mipha to have died during the Great Calamity to spare her all those hundreds of years of sadness over Link's death. Mipha would have lived way longer than Link so when Link's time comes to pass on it will leave a bigger emotional scar to know that the love of her life is gone. Mipha, the King of Hyrule and all the other Champions disintegrate at the end if the game like the Monks do. This way she knows that she helped the love of her life complete his task and know she died fulfilling her purpose and loved by all who knew her.
Oh god that hurts my feelings, thinking about how painful her death and everyone's death probably was but hers especially, because she was so mipha, (and what painful thing are spears meant to do?) I don't know, I just hate thinking about other peoples pain, it's like imagining your own pain, its just unpleasant yet I can't get the thought out of my head
Miphas gotta be my favorite character. She's so gentle and will do anything she can to help link. It's so heart warming to see that she loves him so much.
I'm going to share my story with you all for a moment. Keep in mind this contains major spoilers. Honestly, before I even got to Zora's domain, I saw a picture of Mipha, alive, on the internet. When I had finally reached Zora's Domain and learned of the events, I was sure that MIpha was somehow trapped within Vah Ruta, and was still alive. I believed I could save her. All throughout my time of listening to the Zora's requests and Sidon's and the King's pleas, I was so sure I would bring Mipha back alive. Each time one of the elder Zora's mentioned the love between Link and Mipha I couldn't help the smile that grew onto my face. As I fought my way through Vah Ruta, I was so excited to meet Mipha once more. With her encouraging comments and sweet cheers keeping me going each time I took back a terminal. Then WaterBlight Gannon showed up, and Mipha explained how that was the cause of her death, 100 years ago. I didn't exactly take the time to let this information sink in, and I fought and defeated WaterBlight Gannon easily with the Master sword. Then Mipha's spirit showed up, and I began to tear up. She explained all that had happened, and with every word, I couldn't stop my tears. Then, before I knew it, the cutscene had changed, Mipha had given her power to Link as he disappeared. As Mipha whispered out how she wished she could see her father once more and Ruta sent out it's power, I bursted out sobbing. I honestly felt like I had failed her; I missed my chance to save her and give everyone a happy ending, and I realized that must've been how Link felt. TL;DR Mipha's story, despite being thrown in and short, gripped me hard and made me suffer.
Dude I felt the same way, even though I already felt like she had passed because of the memorial statue. The cut scene messed me up since Ruta was the first Divine Beast I went to. It felt like all the others were less sentimental. Although Revali made me feel a little sad too.
I think the DLC pack 2 will take place before calamity ganon dies. Wouldn't make much sense if it took place after it since they'd then have to remove all the mobs (since they are Ganon's minions).
I also thought, because of the trailers, that you could have them as some sort of companion, at least for the boss fights. Before release i watched a lot of discussions, one of em was about a screenshot of the final control panel in the dungeons, but they didn't know what it was and speculated it was some kind of cryo chamber, like the shrine of resurrection and the champions and zelda hat to be waken up just like link. Back to topic, Mipha's was the first dungeon i completed, right before you could go in, i talk to her father and he said something like "we can just hope on that small chance that she might still be alive", so i ran straight to the dungeon in hope i could save her and wake her up... Got disappointed af and it ruined the rest of the game for me to some extend. All that thrill of anticipation just vanished and i wanted to finish off ganon and rushed the rest of the game. Pretty sad and it's a shame, 'cause overall it's great. Maybe it would have been better if it were my last dungeon and i knew what would happen before going in.
LordTeleman Literally 1 for 1 how I felt the game would be, and the Mipha situation would play out. It's a shame it didn't play out that way we wanted, but I'm gonna keep my head up in anticipation for the DLC pack 2. I need a proper ending with Mipha, or at the least a less tragic end for her. Oh, and for the rest of the Champions too I guess.
because of the trailers, i was 100% convinced that you would awaken them in the dungeons, and then have them as companions! i was devastated when i realized the truth.. Q.Q still am
Getting the flashback first kinda sealed my assumption of how it turned out after talking to all the Zora characters. I too thought from the trailer that "yay we can visit these characters..." T_T

LordTeleman it was my first dungeon as well. Considering that Mipha loved Link, they put a lot of effort into her part of the story, which makes the loss even harder.. I had hopes just like you, that maaayybe she had survived somehow, but when I saw those green spirit flames after defeating the boss.. 😢😢
@@Spaniard_Queen19 The Rito, Hylians, Geurudo, and Gorons all have them! So why not the Zoras too?! Is it the thing where their clothes just mirror their natural appearance? (Probably not) why is it inconsistent their Humanoi-Hylianoids too!

Mipha was the first champion I went to save, and with all the talk of how long the Zora could live, I was heartbroken when I beat the dungeon and finally learned that the Champions were gone. I was honestly so looking forward to saving them.
The sad thing is that even if they got together, Mipha would outlive Link by decades because she's a Zora. They age slower and live much longer than Hylians. He probably would've passed by the time she reached adulthood. I mean, Sidon is considered to be quite young and he's more than 100 years old! This is just heartwrenching.
Zora's can live in between 200 to 250 years, represented by the Zora guarding Zoras Domain he turn 100 not to long before link came back and is considered to be a seaner. as us non hylian humans turn seaner at 55 that leaves a 2x growth between us and the Zora's but thankfully hylians live up to 120 some year following Legend of Zelda lore. so we can gladly have some hope that Mipha and Zelda will live a desert good 80 years before link gets old. but by that time the research lady who made the anti aging rune, could just zap link for like 5 seconds. instead of a deadly 20 seconds that changed her to a child. so they can probably live happily forever for 10s of thousands of years until Ganon resurrection again. or someone gets tired of link and Mipha and assasonate them... but no one's that cruel right?
Three years late but regardless Mipha is easily my favorite Breath of the Wild character. While she obviously had feelings for Link, she didn't let it deter her from completing her job. She probably fought Waterblight thinking only of being able to help Link win. It hurts to imagine Sidon and her dad not knowing for 100 years if Mipha was alive, hoping that she survived and was the reason Vah Ruta was kept at bay. I can't imagine how sad she feels that she won't be able to ever see Link again. And with the new game coming out, we're gonna have to see her die again. Or if we don't, then we'll still know how things turn out. She's really the best character, at least in my opinion, and I'm so sad we can't talk with her or see her again. I'd give a lot to be able to see her alive in something other than flashbacks (and yes I know that's not possible.) Regardless, I'm glad we still have her theme and her healing.
@@justpeachpeachy you are welcome. And I have a bit of information for you as well... I think you will be pleased to know that there is another timeline where the other Champions and I survived the blights. Thank you for being a kind friend💙
When I first heard Mipha's voice, it was...odd. I didn't imagine a Zora sounding like she does. But as I played the game, I had a change of heart. She's pretty adorable in a strange aquatic-human hybrid thing kind of way.
Y'know even if there was some way to resurrect the champions, or if they did defeat Ganon back then, Mipha would still outlive Link which is awfully sad but really endearing seeing that she wants to spend time with him.
I started with Vah'Ruta, and i truly thought that we were gonna ressurect the champion at the end of the boss fight but, Mipha's spirit appeared, and i was like "Ok so we're just going to venge the champions and take their powers"
Didn't feel right though. I mean, if Link could be healed within a special chamber. Who's to say the divine beasts don't have that power as well? They're ancient as fuck and they don't get the restorative powers? But plot demands. And so shall you get what it delivers.
I think I can shed some light on this depressing note. Defeat the bosses frees the spirits of the Champions and, as evidenced by Daruk, they can still be seen by others. If I'm not mistaken, the bosses trap them inside the divine beasts so it makes sense by defeating them, it allows their spirit to leave. They just don't because they need to protect the divine beasts. Examples of this can even be seen when Link uses the Champion's powers. So it's not all bad news. (Makes Mipha's questions about her father seem rather pointless though)
Elithralith i thought that too, Ruta was my first. honestly wondered into the zoras by mistake. After listening about Mipha, and seeing the memory, I really wanted to see this character. I was not happy about her just being a spirit after all she's done for Link
Crazyshark101 yeah I was sorta confused by that, they were even seen at Hyrule Castle. I'm thinking this, the blights kept the champions inside the divine beasts as prisoners, calamity ganon knew how powerful they could be possessing the Divine beasts so even when they are spirits they are still a threat. it would make sense and seeing after the defeat of calamity ganon, the champion spirits were finally free plus no need for them to take control of the beasts now that ganon was sealed.
when I played this part and everytime that Link was interacting with Mipha I teared up. that last time they were together in the devine beast literally killed me that I sat their after that cutscene for 10 minutes as an emotional wreck. Well done Nintendo you made a grown man cry.
Same bro. They always explained it as "the Champions are trapped inside the divine beasts" so I thought we could rescue them. I did Mipha first, and when she says "now that I am a spirit" I was like BRO WHAT
totk has come out and the new sages has made me think of the champions. in my opinion, miphas story was genuinely the saddest death & story out of all of the champions. she had a family to come home to and she seemed like such a kind person who would do anything for her home and people she loves. i kinda wish the champions were more relevant in the new game but they’re gone now so 😢
“I hope you know, that I will always protect you” AHHH, that line is just so cuteee. Miphas definitely my favorite character in botw she’s just so passionate and sweet. Honestly seeing Link and Mipha together would be awesome.
Mipha was actually the first Zelda character that got me ALMOST crying I've played lots of Zelda games and lots of them had sad moments, but this one really hit me. And to be honest I think it's because of the voice acting, I sometimes think it's cringey but it does sorta make me know the characters personally more
She was the first videogame character that I got a kind of respect and appreciation she also was the first champion I met when I was doing the divne Beasts when I got the dlc I went straight to her she just has a special place in my heart :,)
I know that she's at peace with finally helping Link defeat Ganon. I know how the story ends with the best ending possible for everyone involved. But I just can't stop thinking about it. _Why am I still crying?_
Nintendodsi1000 I'm still sad about her story too. This game made me felt guilty about her loss. It's the time ever I felt something like this in a game. Mipha's story is devastating and depressing. I wish there would be a way to save her..
What is this unexplainable feeling when I listen to this song? I feel like I’m deep in sadness but happy at the end when I know this song belongs to someone who did the best for the one she cared about since the very beginning :(
Mipha's theme is probably one of the saddest Zelda songs. I think it's connected to a character who loved Link and who unfortunately never was able to be with him. That's a them in many Zelda games, the more I think about it: lovers who can't be together.
It’s weird that when you listen to a video game sound track all the memories of you playing the game come flooding back and it’s so overwhelming that when you remember the good times it makes you want to cry
I'm so not ready to face Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. She was so young, she didn't ask to be involved in this and we're gonna see her dying without knowing what's happening...
Technically she wasn't really young because Zoras have a long lifespan so even a child-looking Dora ismmcan basically be an adult but yeah, I don't really know how I'm gonna be able to watch her downfall
This song gets me to tear up every time. She was probably my favourite champion in the game, and the first one I freed back on Wii U in my first playthrough. I think her story out of all the champions was the saddest. Mipha is so kind, she brings joy to everyone’s hearts, yet the one that she loves she can never be with. Link, was the one she wanted to be with most, but due to the calamity, she can never see him ever again. I think one of the saddest parts of her story is that she was still pretty young, at least for a Zora, yet she gave her life, fighting to the very end just to get a fleeting chance of seeing Link the next day. And in the end, she did see Link, she did complete her mission, and she got to help everyone one last time... Mipha is the kindest, sweetest, most loving princess, sister, and friend. She will be remembered for years to come.
I usually stay for a while at her statue, with her trident and armor she maked for Link. There is a wall at the Zora's area, where it is stated that these armors are usually made by the females, with her scales, as an amulet to their husbands. I found that so sad. T_T. Link was Mipha's husbando, and she died for him.
girls cried during the titanic guys cried during endgame gods cried during miphas cutscenes note that i cried during endgame and miphas cutscene but not titanic this was made for memes
Another Zora with a heartbreaking back story, the others being Laruto and especially Queen Rutela (I know Lulu lost her voice and her eggs, but you were able to rescue them). Laruto killed by Jalhalla when he invaded the temple , Rutela executed in front of her people because Zant needed to demonstrate his power, and she was unable to help her son in his time of need, and now Mipha. Wanting to be the the man she loves (Link) but killed in battle again the Waterblight Ganon and her spirit trapped there for 100 years, all alone, but once she is freed, she wishes she could see her father again, but is unable too. Why do all the zora's always seem to have the saddest stories.
SPOILER! Mipha: "Once this whole thing is over, maybe things can go back to how they used to be when we were young. You know maybe we can spend some time together." Me after the game: "The whole thing is over now, and i'm here to spend some more time with you Mipha. But you... youre not longer here, and it was my fault that i couldnt save you 100years ago. In the past you always protected me, you always healed me. Even at the day we met for the first time, i was complete stranger to you... You were always motivating me and gave me support... But on that one day, i should have protect you from that demon...... Then 100 years of solitude as a soul, most of your minds were about me and i just lost all my memories about you... And even after your souls release you were still protecting me... I dont know how I should make up for this." And everytime i see the statue of you Mipha i could cry again... It reminds me of my failure 100 years ago...
Everyday, when I play BOTW I go to the divine beast and leave those purple flowers near the beast, why? Not only as respect but I’m completing my promise. Spending some time together :’)
Ok, so all of the Zora royals are named for music notes. Dorephan = Do-Re-Fa. Sidon = Si (which is sometimes used in place of Ti)-Do. Mipha = Mi-Fa. But something else I learned recently. The first bit of the song goes Mi-Fa-Mi-Fa-Mi-Fa-Mi.

Only cutscene in the game which didn’t make me cry, worst champion in my opinion, but hey, you do you.
Mipha is the only one that really makes you realize “shit they’re actually dead” cause with the others, their villages baisically forgot about them. But Mipha wasnt forgotten at all
Pretty sure most of the village was alive when she died
I think that had more to do with the long lifespans of the Zora than anything else.
@@TheInfinitySagaEnjoyerall of the village but the children really
The other villages didn’t forget their respective champions, they just never met them but still held them in high, even legendary regard. But of course with Mipha it’s different because the Zora live so long, so you feel how tragic it was. With Daruk and Urbosa, you could tell they died as proud warriors, so the game doesn’t portray their deaths as sad
daruk had a giant sculpture of his face carved into death mountain

When the Zoras believed she was trapped I did too. When it turns out that she’s dead. It just broke me
This was the only character I was wishing for who would stay alive during the great calamity. It's coz I like the sweetness of her voice and her music theme. I'd say kill off zelda and bring back mipha.

That fucking destroys me. The first character in the entire series to straight up confess her love for Link and she fucking dies. WHY NINTENDO
ShadowRaptor1O1 midna was so extremely close...
midna and mipha are my favs
sidonxlink is after them
ShadowRaptor1O1 Well, I guess first if you discount Ruto from the equation...
Drew Haynes i completely agree with the sidon one lmao

Why u make me cry so much 😣😣😢😢😭😭😭😭😭😭
If it's any consolation, there's a little quirk with the German translation of BotW - Dorephan says that Link and Mipha were already engaged at the time of the calamity, which suggests that the Zora armor doesn't function like an engagement ring, but it's still special enough that Mipha decided to put off giving it to him until after the calamity, just in case. At that point only Dorephan would have known of their engagement.
At least in the German canon lol
Mipha was aware of and had accepted her nontrivial odds of dying, since she made sure to tie things off with Sidon before she left.
Fi the eevee honestly, I cry every time.. weird kinda admitting it..
I wonder if once Mipha disintegrated at the end of the game does that mean that the last little bit of her soul lives in Link or do we lose her power along with all the other Champions powers?

Leighton Petty I was devastated.
Me: Cries soooo hard
Never have I ever been emotionally invested in a character and relationship before. That shows you how well written a character such as Mipha is, and most of it comes from implications the game doesn't directly tell you. It is truly indescribable beauty.
DiddySean64 only wish her voice actor wasnt horrible and she had more backstory
What's wrong with her voice? I liked it

This is actually what i’ve been thinking about ever sense the trailer released ._.
:(
My only question is, WHY
Is it possible to learn this power?

Kenzie Alexander hmmm i think SS zelda really felt somwthing too.
ST Zelda felt something too. But I believe Link didn't always ends up being in love with Zelda. There's a theory who imply TP Link is OOT Link and Malon's son.

youngdefiant I AGREE WITH YA
Zora ya there kool and red and fish and yea.
You fucker!!,
uhm yeah , but i really love also Revali's story and the rivalty he had with Link . also Zelda and the king Roham is also great , as shown in link's memory .
Agreed. The long lifespan of the Zora just made it so much more meaningful, because you actually had people alive who knew the champion.
sometimes I just Stare at her statue and think about how she died, how horrible it might've been, she might've called for link and no one came.
This way she knows that she helped the love of her life complete his task and know she died fulfilling her purpose and loved by all who knew her.
yeah, its even more sad considering how mipha and the other champions were sending morse code like S.O.S signals.

Miphas gotta be my favorite character. She's so gentle and will do anything she can to help link. It's so heart warming to see that she loves him so much.
Mipha will be the last character that you can release because centaleón in Spanish is hard with low hearts and don't using the z Target
Aida I feel you friend. Let's hope that DLC Pack 2 gives us a happy ending. Where all the Champions survive, or more importantly- Mipha.
Mipha is, without a doubt, my favorite Champion.

LordTeleman it was my first dungeon as well. Considering that Mipha loved Link, they put a lot of effort into her part of the story, which makes the loss even harder.. Mipha was the first champion I went to save, and with all the talk of how long the Zora could live, I was heartbroken when I beat the dungeon and finally learned that the Champions were gone. I was honestly so looking forward to saving them.
They weren't dead
The sad thing is that even if they got together, Mipha would outlive Link by decades because she's a Zora. They age slower and live much longer than Hylians. He probably would've passed by the time she reached adulthood. I mean, Sidon is considered to be quite young and he's more than 100 years old! This is just heartwrenching.
Yes, this would be like Aragorn and Arwen in The Lord Of The Rings
Elithralith Oh wow, I never thought about it that way!
that's exactly what I said when I saw that part ;'(
Zora's can live in between 200 to 250 years, represented by the Zora guarding Zoras Domain he turn 100 not to long before link came back and is considered to be a seaner. as us non hylian humans turn seaner at 55 that leaves a 2x growth between us and the Zora's but thankfully hylians live up to 120 some year following Legend of Zelda lore. so we can gladly have some hope that Mipha and Zelda will live a desert good 80 years before link gets old. but by that time the research lady who made the anti aging rune, could just zap link for like 5 seconds. instead of a deadly 20 seconds that changed her to a child. so they can probably live happily forever for 10s of thousands of years until Ganon resurrection again. or someone gets tired of link and Mipha and assasonate them... but no one's that cruel right?
hey I mean, link is over 100 years old too.

"Are ya winning son?"
*turns around* ;-;
"No"

Well she did say yes to piloting vah ruta

But still tho, rip best girl
Technically she wasn't really young because Zoras have a long lifespan so even a child-looking Dora ismmcan basically be an adult but yeah, I don't really know how I'm gonna be able to watch her downfall
Well any Zoras does have the longest life spam than Hylians.
Anybody else think that Mipha's love for Link is a reference to Ruto?
Crazyshark101 Of course! There are a handful of references from Ocarina of Time.
Crazyshark101 There is certainly something fishy about it...
aunque el templo no resultó como un dolor de cabeza
Just see every Lake/Mountain/Valley of the game... They've got names from other Zelda characters!
Mipha's love for Link is a reference to Zelda's developing affection for Link through the memories... just look at the memory from Mt. Lanayru
I hope I'm not the only one who still cries over this song...
