Ok, I know the BOTW fandom gives Revali a lot of shit, but you gotta face the fact that he is an amazing character. In the game he isn't mentioned to have any family or friends he can call his own. In fact, he seems sort of lonely. He's depicted practicing and always by himself. The only verification that the village even respected him is the scene where they mentioned the flight range was built in his name. Urbosa was a chieftain of her entire town, Daruk was a revered warrior of the Gorons who had a giant statue made of him, Mipha was a Zora princess, Link was a hero who was supposed to seal the darkness, and Zelda was a princess of Hyrule. Revali, however, is mentioned as only being a great warrior and having a platform named after him. In many cutscenes, Revali is shown perfecting his gale and practicing to the point of actually hurting himself In the Tebra mountains. His dedication is particularly stressed more than the other champions signifying that his skills and popularity were gained not through titles or recognition within his race and community, but though hard work. In conclusion, Revali is a seasoned warrior who, going by the voice actor and character, is actually quite young. His personality is one that can actually be backed up by his skills. He worked hard to gain boasting rights and isn't all bark and no bite. His mastery of the winds is something no other Rito has ever done before. He's clearly a misunderstood character who's true qualities lie a little deeper in his story. Honest to God, Revali will forever stay my favorite Champion because of his amazing characterization. Lol rant over. Edit: I also posted a huge explanation for the fall of the Champions on Reddit if anyone is interested? www.reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/jr0fot/found_the_sos_messages_in_the_divine_beasts/?
His theme sounds bright and powerful and then more quiet, sad and kinda lonely Like if the first part was what he show abd the second what he realky feels Haven't played HW AoC either, yet
@@leighsartworks "i regret that we havent dueled. Rito's most skilled archer, against hyrules mightiest warrior, a battle for the ages!" Rito, on one of the dialogue for the windblight rematches in dlc
Revali only lost because he forgot his Great Eagle Bow. Think about it; the Champion's Ballad rematches are supposed to be you taking the place of the champions during the Great Calamity, which is why you get their special weapons. In Ruta, you get the Lightscale Trident, in Naboris you get Urbosa's shield and scimitar, in Rudania you get the Stone Smasher, but in Medoh, you only get a Falcon Bow, a Duplex Bow and a Phrenic Bow. Revali left it at his house because he thought he was just going to meet Zelda at Mt. Lanayru, then he had no time to get it because he needed to rush to Medoh since Ganon reawoke suddenly. Alongside this, Urbosa had all metal weapons against an electric foe, Daruk had no bombs for Fireblight, and Mipha was just underequipped.
Mipha said that she was killed before she could even put up a fight against Waterblight Ganon. I believe the same goes for Urbosa or Daruk with their respective blights; can’t remember who.
I like your headcanon, and that's how it probably was in the original canon, but in age of calamity, Revali will most likely keep his bow for the sake of gameplay.
Mipha didnt have cryonis or bows to stop the blocks, and no shock arrows so she probably didnt get into Vah Ruta or got in but died on the final form of water blight.
I feel this definitely suits Revali after you beat WIndblight Ganon and earn his respect. Yeah he may be a jerk, but he's still got a heart behind all those proud feathers.
He's my favourite Champion for a reason. Out of the four of them, he is the one with the most development over the few connections you get with him(not counting when he is mentioned), at first he feels like he should be the Hero, then when Link enters Vah Medoh he is hopeful that he can surpass him in defeating the Windblight, and after Windblight Ganon is defeated, he gains respect for Link, that he did something that he couldn't, and sees clearly that there's a reason Link is the hero.
Harry Hume I still think that all the Champions are amazing in their own way, I personally like Mipha because the story behind her and Link along with Prince Sidon whom I also love
has anyone noticed that Revali is the SHORTEST Rito out there? Teba, Kass, even the NPCS all tower over Link by a good 2 feet or so, but Revali more or less meets his gaze. kind of interesting to notice that and see how cocky and proud he is. maybe that factored into him striving to be "the best."
Alex Ramírez Hernández yes but he may be the strongest if there is no other Rito able to fly using his bow because it is heavy and hard To use (in french "manoeuvrer") and he is the smallest Rito
Link: "What am I supposed to do for five minutes when you're recharging Revali's Gale?" Revali: "I don't know. What do you normally do when I'm gone?" Link: "Wait for you to get back!"
“After all these years I simply must admit the truth, even without the power of flight, Link made his way to this divine beast and accomplished something even I could not... Guess I was wrong about, how lucky he would be. I hope that luck holds out link... for everyone’s sake.” I love that line and is what makes him my favorite champion
In Latin Spanish it says: A simple child without wings managed to get here, And subdued medoh when I couldn't, I must admit that that child is very lucky, May he never run out.
"never seemed to be able to hate?" , easily the most and only disliked character in that game for me, he never really did redeem himself in my eyes, even with his special ability and chill theme. He got his ass handed to him to the easiest versions of the blight Ganons and still acted like he was a big deal.
Let me explain why I like him: While I understand your dislike towards him, the reason why I love him is because of his character. Yes, he does act arrogantly on many occasions, but such is the nature of the writer portraying him as which, to me, is a good thing. Because he doesn't hate you, really; he only hates how he is not given the spotlight to face ganon head-on like link. Still, he respects the royal order no matter what. That didnt stop him, however, to be an ass to link. Which is part of the reason. The rivalry between the two is not clearly full of depth, but it does give me the notion of revali trying to compete with the protagonist even though he knew he wouldn't be the one to defeat ganon; messing with the protag, however, is a different story. And besides, the skill's cool, and the theme has the vibe of a relaxed but friendly tone which somehow tells me that revali has indeed come to respect link in some way. Of course, such is the opinion of a nobody stranger.
For an arrogant ass, he is really a softie. And that's why he's pretty lovable and his theme is amazingly peaceful. Honestly Rito Village is the best in my opinion because it feels so home-y. If only this theme played at my home everyday.
Personally, I like Zora Domain because Mipha was just, she is just too amazing, sacrificing herself and she was so sweet to heal me even when she was dead.
Revali's theme represents him very well I think. It starts out pretty soft, like a small breeze, which represents his beginning. He started from the bottom and he didn't have much skill. He was simply wavering, flying unsteadily without much confidence as he wished to be greatness, and I feel like the sweet music encaptures his humble struggle. However, he worked extremely. hard for his skills so that he could become a strong and free wind, which sounds like around :48 ..Now he's soaring, strong, free, and confidently. He has achieved greatness and has become the excellent warrior he always wanted to become. Then, the music dies down again and sounds homely to show that he's still the same Revali at heart that we love, even with all his snarkiness. Overall this piece is very beautiful, serene, and elegant, much like the champion it represents :)
While this is somewhat poetic, he was most likely incredibly talented in the first place. Not everyone who strives ends up with amazing skill, and not everyone with amazing skill had to strive for it. Why else do you think he's so proud and arrogant? People who start with nothing are usually more humble.
@@Hitsyfication He may have been talented, but he still did struggle at least a bit, as shown by the Champions Ballad He's still an asshole though lmao
I learned this song on piano while my grandma was in the hospital, she passed not to long after I finished learning it. So now everytime I hear it it brings back sp many memories of playing harvest moon, or pikmin, or wind waker with her. God I would give anything to have her back.
Revali’s my favourite champion and I’m absolutely frustrated at how some people seem to downplay his fight against Windblight Ganon saying “he had no excuses, he had the easiest one!” Or “If Link could beat it, why can’t you?” Implied by the Champion’s DLC, it’s shown that all the champions literally had limited supplies with them adding to the fact that they were unprepared, came with minimal things because 1. Ganon came at a time when they were still by the mountain and had to urgently reach their divine beasts, 2. They thought they’d be safe in their divine beasts. This includes Revali. He also had nothing should all his weapons break because of this while Link had his stasis and bombs should he run out of anything. There is also a barrier preventing any means of escape and this applies to all champions. For a guy like Revali especially who depends on long distance and flies a lot, this is extremely restricting. There wasn’t a barrier when Link fought. Revali’s Gale wouldn’t really do much other than provide the maximum shooting distance with the barrier and he probably can’t conjure it as many times as he can consecutively. He’d have to keep running towards that one gale that is constantly running. Another point is exhaustion. None of the champion’s could possibly have insane infinite stamina. It’s what I believe is one of the major factors to each champions’ eventual downfall, even Link died to it because of the endless amounts of Guardians attacking him and Zelda. Revali has to keep dodging the Blight Ganon’s tornadoes and his floating lasers, and keep flying to reach good range to shoot. He probably isn’t even as experienced as Link or Urbose with the sword which was meant to be a backup weapon. Thirdly, unlike Link, he didn’t have any other champion power. He didn’t have Mipha’s healing abilities, he didn’t have Urbosa’s Fury neither did he have Daruk’s protection. Likewise for the other champions. Not to mention Revali’s Gale is not an innate passive ability. It’s not something that comes out of thin air. It takes up his whole body and wings to try and make it succeed. While sure Revali could have been cocky, it does not absolutely mean he should’ve won the fight since it was the “easiest” blight Ganon. He didn’t have excuses? He sure does! It’s a losing battle from the very beginning for all the Champions. Whether Revali was arrogant or not during his fight didn’t mean anything because they were gonna die anyway because they weren’t prepared. Why insult him saying he had the easiest one?
Yea also, following the Rito age laws, he was still the youngest one in the group, and, as seen in the dlc, he even hurt himself one or multiple times, just to practice his gale, though he was never proud of himself and he'd always push himself harder.
also also, each blight was very obviously designed against each champion - in this case, windblight's tornadoes would make flying hazardous to revali not to mention the makings of a champion book, which confirms that revali flew all the way across hyrule to get to medoh; he must have been exhausted by the time he got there
I even think that none of the champions had their weapons... If they had them in their fights, wouldn’t the weapons be in the divine beast, where no one can take them ? So if they are in the beasts, you cannot have them as a reward AFTER the divine beast because they would be in it so you could get them DURING the dungeon So the champions were unarmed when they fought... Btw I’m sorry if it is not well explained, English is not my first language, I’m French ^^’
Hmm all of these points are very good especially the fact that revali had to fly to Medoh which was in the Hebra region while he at the time was at the Lanyaru gate so yeah that's a huge distance and the path was directly straight across from the castle so he had it bad, The again the very good fact that the champions had the blights specifically designed to ruin there respective champion AND the champions didn't have there weapons since they wouldn't be with the elders if they were in the beasts, Over all revali and for the other matter the other champions stood very little if at all a chance. Hmm well I summed up all of this comments thread. One last thing for right now stands out is that out of the 5 champions and zelda, revali and ok I don't know if links slow down time thing is even remotely close to an ability but I say that it is but, like I was saying revali is the ONLY one of those 6 besides maybe link to have no champion ability, Mipha, healing power, Daruk, protection power, Urbosa, lightning power, Link, time slow power maybe, And Zelda, the sealing power. And what does revali have? Nothing absolutely, nothing. What he has is his very own technique. It wasn't passed down, it wasn't random, Revali injured him self time and time again just to be remembered as something of a legend. Soooo that's just a expansion of my reply I wonder if I'll update this again.
I mean Revali had a bow when windblight had a gun how is it fair? Plus did all the people saying this beat their first ganon without dying &/or breaking weapons, eating up their food resorces?
Never before have I been so emotionally impacted by a piece of music. I know that Revali was a jerk to Link, but his jealousy and spite was just making him bitter towards the person he wanted to be better than. This song sounds as if Revali has finally swallowed his pride, accepted that Link is better than him, and thanked him for saving him even after he’s been so rude to Link.
Revali may have a cocky attitude, but his heart stands above it. he makes it so that the person would think like Revali hates him or something, but really, Revali is just trying to challenge and push them to the limits.
In that final battle when Ganon was about to open his eye, Link jumped off the horse and summoned Revali’s gale. As he descended Zelda shouted “right now!” and Revali’s ghost gave him a big thumbs up. Bow of light drawn, and boom. The fight was over.
i would have liked if in that moment when you summon revalis gale he said something like "dont screw this up!", like he did in age of calamity that would be a cool little easter egg.
Personal headcanon of mine is that Revali is quite young. I mean, he’s very short for a Rito, and he still has the red markings on his cheeks that most of the baby Rito have. Thoughts?
what makes this so effective is how few instruments are playing. It would represent his loner attitude, but the instruments also give away his kind heart.
When I first stepped on board Divine Beast Vah Medoh and heard Revali's voice, and then when I heard that *music...* I felt like he was still alive, and I had to rush to save him. As arrogant as he was, this game really made me care about him. *I love Breath of the Wild.*
I miss the champions, their cutscenes after freeing the divine beasts always seemed so much more emotional and personal while the sages in TOTK are stoic and mysterious
The sages didn’t feel like anything to me, they were just action figures, not characters, there to serve the purpose of telling us the same story 4 times
This theme suggests that he was an aloof/lonely figure. I don't know...that's just what I get from the music. Would really love to see more story to these champions!
I feel like Revali has a lot of personality, like he's an actual real person. He struggled, he fought, he lost, but in the end he got what he wanted and deserved. To help defeat Ganon. I can't blame him for being the sassy, toxic little bird he is. He has every right to be a jerk. We don't know anything about his family, for all we know he could be an orphan. Revali is such a mysterious character, and we shouldn't judge him for being a jerk to Link. Something really bad and depressing could've happened to him in his past, but we don't know that. If something ever really sad happened to you, you'd want other people to feel the same anger you had. Whenever I think of Ravioli, I think that something tragic could've happened to him, but instead of telling people, he just doesn't tell anybody. Revali is a misunderstood character, but I think he's definitely a good character.
Revali's theme always made me feel like there was something more deep and tragic to him, and then seeing him training to no end and constantly failing, his theme made a bit more sense. It has hints of tragedy, pride, hope, despair, triumph, and utter defeat, but it continues to try to sound better. Revali couldn't show his softer side as it would make him seem weak in comparison to the others. Urbosa's divinity and motherly pretense, Daruk's comradery and loyalty, Mipha's tenderness and pleasant nature, Revali just had his archery proficiency and capability of flight over them, most likely dwarfing his own idea of his power in comparison. They were all naturally gifted in their own ways, so if Revali were to grow comfortable in the group and at his current state, he would have fallen behind in his training and ultimately become a detriment to the group. He had to hate Link since he knew he was infinitely more powerful and noble than he could ever be, so by belittling Link's actions he could try to make himself think he was stronger. But I think this song perfectly displays his true feelings. He is proud of his accomplishments, but sees that they aren't much in comparison to the others. He wants to keep going and keep training, but thinks it all pointless at some times and has to quash those ideas and replace them with delusions of grandeur simply only to keep his mind progressing forward and not regressing into his own failures. Revali is an incredibly tragic character in my opinion, and this song not fitting his demeanor is proof of his true depth, and is a wonderful but devastating dichotomy to witness. His will is just as strong as his stubbornness, and behind every prideful smile is the overwhelming fear of being left behind. That's just how it feels to me, at least
Well put. Revali’s demeanor was, understandably, off-putting…to say the least…but there is a sort of wistfulness to his theme that betrays, and confesses to, his posturing. Something that can be difficult to express outwardly.
Actually, he's not XD He only has 3 white fingers/feathers (plus the thumb) and 1 purple; he's merely holding his forefinger up. What you thought to be his forefinger is a piece of his bow, and his "middle finger" is actually his real forefinger. ;)
I paused the screen on Revali's cutscene and counted myself, and I'm actually pretty certain he has five fingers 🤔😂 On another note, though, it seems that his pinky finger is colored gray instead of the rest of his fingers (and I don't see a gray finger anywhere)
fUZZI Lin yes indeed, that's what I said: 5 fingers, the first 4 are white (including his thumb) and his pinky is purple (at least to me XD). We can't see it on this picture, it's hidden behind the bow. We can only see the white fingers, the pointed one being the forefinger IMO ^^
..... Okay I get where everyone's coming from..... Truth be told Falco is actually my long lost brother who fell into another dimension. It is rare that us ritos hatch from the same egg, but we were twins.....
It's because of how much I loved the champions that I wated to defeat ganon in botw. Tbh I could've cared less about Zelda, the way they made each one of their personalities unique and loveable made me want to tear Ganon apart. I honestly wouldn't have cared if they pulled some disney crap in the end and just revived all of them, they really didn't deserve what happened. Or instead of killing them why not make them corrupted by Ganon as well and that way you could've saved them all individually. I miss them ;-;
Same! I wanted to defeat Ganon just to revive them, but when I learned my price after defeating him is just another useless boring Zelda cutscene I went and completely ignored him. Good luck defeating him alone Zelda! I will only enter Hyrule Castle to collect a few things and then leave!
0:20 This part has always appealed to me, it just sounds so peaceful, happy but also in a weird way tragic and sad. It highlights how Revali overdoes himself in the only thing he considers being talented in being "the master of the sky", and he feels if he fails at that one thing he is skilled in, he fails as an individual. Its also shown how much he cares about his tribe in Age of Calamity when he falsely thinks Link wants to attack his home and people, ready to defend it with his whole being. But now he is forever trapped as a spirit in Vah Medoh unable to interact with his tribe, unable to boast and show off his skills to anyone, unable to generate his own selfworth, since he has been always judged by others lenses. That part also just gives me peaceful and content vibes. It makes me think that Revali isnt really an ambitious person, all he truly wishes for is to be respected and accepted by his tribe.
Marthboy Before Falco is born, His Rito ancestor named Revali had quite known Link for quite some time and he wants a fight. #LegendOfSmashMelee #LinkVSRevali
I never thought I'd say this, but Revali somehow became not only my favorite champion, even my favorite overall character considering I already liked the champions so much.
This is peak score composition. It incorporates Revali's leitmotif and distinctive instrument (the accordion) with melodic and instrumental elements from his races's theme (the Rito Village theme, which features strings and mandolin), creating a theme so powerful and emotional it always makes me cry. Mad props to the composer.
jrpludacrous I always feel that Groose reincarnates as someone jealous of Link or who looks down at him, like - Mido from OoT - Gonzo from WW - That STAR host from TP And... that's about it XD
Actually, I believe Purlo is a descendant of Tingle. The green pointed hat, mole on his chin, and big blue watch on his waist are a big clue to that. zelda.gamepedia.com/media/zelda.gamepedia.com/a/a0/Purlo.png
Groose stay at Skyloft with others ... who become the Wind Tribe who become the Oocca tribe who become the Rito ! Also, Grosse's Loftwing have the same color as Revali's Feather plumage.
so this is going to be the dumbest comment I've ever typed. so I've had a sever anxiety problem for nearly all of my life, always having the problem of self confidence and being brave. Zelda has always been a motivator to push myself outside if that comfort zone and believing in myself every now and then because nearly every major character has those traits and sends a message that it takes a little confidence to make great things happen. even though Revali is cocky, he radiates that more than anyone else, being very proud of his accomplishments. seeing him in game and listening to this beautiful theme makes me elated to know I could be that proud of myself someday. I don't expect anyone to understand, but it's my own motivator that I carry away from this game and Revalis character.
Not only was it not dumb in any way, this is the most moving thing that I've ever read in a youtube comment. It really applies to me as well and I'm glad someone else feels determined to get to be a proud, self-loving person when hearing this. Thank you for this comment.
Revali is like that annoying brother who is always teasing you and never gets tired of it. But, despite that, you know you can count on his wings to soar through the sky when needed. One of my favorites
@@colony30sshittyproudbannerIn my opinion Rito must be done first. The Ganon fight is also easy. You should find a guy called Sidon next. He has some tricks to break your heart.
Unpopular opinion, but I feel like this is the most deep and emotional Zelda game yet story wise. Even beating out Majora's Mask IMO... I legitimately felt like I knew the champions and their personalities and individual characteristics make their deaths so much more tragic to me. Even Revali, who is a jerk to you, feels like a good person deep down who laid out his life for Hyrule. It makes you want to protect Zelda and defeat Ganon that much more. Zelda is all Link has anymore and I feel like that's a wonderful compelling reason to move forth the main plot. Breath of the Wild is an absolute masterpiece and anyone who is a fan of Zelda, or gaming in general, owes it to themselves to pick up the game.
I agree. Is it really an unpopular opinion though? It was the first Zelda game for me that actually gave me a emotional connection to the characters, even when the characters only appear in flashbacks. It tells a lot about the game, when you feel a connection to the characters even when they barely appear in the game. Also it's funny that some people say that the story sucks, because how much story did the previous Zelda games have? Even OOT which is probably the favorite game to the majority was kind of cliché and boring story-wise even if the game was awesome itself.
Ventus, logical fallacy to put it like that... Also, even if you say it like that, it's not like you are saying a point in favor that the story is bad. It's just because the princess was portraited as insufficient that the character actually got a little more depth than the previous Zelda games. Also it was more original.
I absolutely agree. People confuse story development with a lot of cutscenes or dialogue. I like to quote Peter Molyneux, who once said that cutscenes are like ads and get boring if they are too long. His development team was allowed to only use 14 minutes of cutscenes in total as a consequence. That being said, the given cutscenes in Botw are handled in a great way. They feel rewarding since you search for them, they enhance the lore but leave you puzzling the pieces together. Puzzling the pieces together is exactly what this story is about - Link has lost his memories and hence is on the same level as the player, he has to learn everything from the start. Now what makes Both's story so good is that you don't advance the main quest until someone reveals you in a 10 minute cutscene what has happened - but you learn from the world itself, through the gameplay. This is a prime example how a story should be involved into gameplay, and how both elements enhances it. For instance, when you arrive to Hateno Fort for the first time, you see all those ancient guardians lying around on what seems to have been a battlefield. People visit the fort's wall to witness it, and you are left with the imagination what fierce battle has took place there. Same thing when you go to Hyrule castle and see what both the city and the Ranch has become. You don't only see the suffering in a cutscene, you feel it in the world. The places tell the story, and it really fits the game's atmosphere well. And yes, I prefer this approach by far to OoT which bored to to death with its super long cutscenes over a generic story. The other Zelda game that shared a similar story-telling to Botw was Majora's Mask, where the gameplay and story enhanced each other. Guess that's why those two games are by far my favourites in the series.
I just watched the finished that divine beast and now Revali is my favorite character. I remember watching the first scene where he comes in (1:57), and I thought that scene was so good I stopped and loaded back up the game to watch it again. There's something about his personality - sarcastic, arrogant, stubborn, funny, but a slight mean (obviously because of perfectly understandable jealousy, I mean, Revali is a CHAMPION and this random guy comes along and now Revali has to assist him??) that shapes in to being the amazing character that we all have recently begun to love. I remember right when I defeated the Windblight Ganon, and the cutscene rolled of Revali (10:17) and at the end I kinda had tears in my eyes because it was really sad that he died even though I knew him for like 20 minutes. Respect to Nintendo. They're creative and I hope they make more characters like him.
Ravioli’s Theme sounds like happy nostalgic memories that lead up to the present, and then getting hit with the feeling of never feeling the feelings you once felt... Then all of a sudden, you realize that you have the rest of your life to make more of those memories
Am I the only one that likes douchey characters? Ya know, because some people are actually douches in real life? Its fitting. I mean what, do you want everyone in the game to be like "Oh Link, you're so cool! I look up to you and hope that you do super duper well on your quest! Thank you brave hero!" A little variety is good, people.
that's the reason i liked takumi in fire emblem fates. He even became my favourite character (mostly because i started with birthright. Those crits...)
I agree, even if I didn't like Revali too much. He was obviously the rival that given time, I feel that he would be real good friends with Llink. Or maybe not? Who knows. I wanted to like him, I really did, but we have very little time to really know him, or any other champion really, except maybe mipha. I hope the DLC has more story about the champions and/or descendants
I saw him more as a Rival figure rather than an outright douche. Ravali worked hard to get the recognition he got. His anger with being relegated to a support position, because some dude he never met pulled a sword out somewhere, makes sense. Plus despite his dislike for Link he was ready to fufill his duty despite his misgivings. Yeah he get's a bit snarky about things but he's still there and trying.
Him and Takumi do douchey characters right. On the other hand, I still hate Sasuke and Bakugo from my hero academia and Naruto.. They are just annoying and make me want to punch them in the face. Takumi and Revali in my opinion had more prevalent dimensions to them even if sometimes subtle. We know that despite the jealousy, Revali actually does show care. He is literally falco.. haha. Fox is Link and Falco is Revali. Anyways.. Back to the subject on hand, he seems proud of his rival Link after beating Windblight. Right when Link gets transported back to Rito Village I'm pretty sure he expresses pride in Link in said cutscene where he is reactivating Divine Beast Medoh. Also the Champions Ballad shows he really is concerned for Zelda and through body language, I could say the same for Mipha too. I'm not saying specifics because they might be spoilers for that DLC. As for Takumi, he has an inferiority complex and has always felt overshadowed by his siblings and Corrin. His prickliness is a result of a drive to improve himself which I respect. Conquest Takumi on the other hand... yeah that version of him was just a dick.. even to Nohrian Loli's(if you get the scene reference).
Revali gets even less recognition in Tears, and yet that just adds to how sad and distinct his character is. All the new sages are descendants of the sages of the past. Tulin is given the title of the Wind Sage from his ancestor. The others were related to the old champions. Revali didn’t have named family, or anyone that was proud of him. He was respected and admired by his peers, but everything he did, he had to struggle to attain. At the very least, I think Revali would be proud of Tulin. Thats the closest he'll have to a successor.
This tune really did make me tear up. Right after you beat Vah Medoh, and you meet Rivali. It’s been one hundred years, yet he feels... you feels like a familiar presence from him. Although he can be quite cocky at times, he has a pure heart. A pure heart, which was slain by the darkness of the Calamity, a long, one hundred years ago. This song, along with the Rito Village theme, right after it, really have an emotional effect. Revalis Theme shows the purity of the boastful champion, and Rito Village theme, hints that the inhabitants still deal with the scars of Rivalis death - but they go on anyway, standing - or flying strong.
Revali's theme represents him perfectly. It sounds so playful like his rivalry with Link. It isn't anything serious, just a competitive rivalry. Revali Neve acknowledges link's power but certainly knows it in his heart.
My favorite bit of music from the game. Lively and vibrant, yet still somewhat sad and melancholic. A great piece to represent the character of Revali, one full of confidence and vigor, yet who met a tragic end.
This is gonna be an unpopular opinion, but I think Revali might just be my favorite of the Champions. I can't quite tell you why.... but something about him is just amazing to me. :)
After viewing the English version of botw, I somehow figured some lines of Revali translation is not quite accurate, so maybe Revali's original characteristic is a little mistaken for most of the westerners. this has easily become my favourite song from botw. it captures the essence of the game and story so perfectly.. it's such a hopeful and peaceful tune, but with such a sad undertone to it?? representing how everyone in hyrule accepts the devastation that's happened to them, but sticks together and does their best to move forward and remain optimistic despite having been through so much. such a simple melody but it seriously makes me tear up. i'm so happy to be a fan of this franchise and to see how far it's come 💛💛 tloz is the best!

Bruh I never thought of that, nice work anyways!
@@innocentpopsicle6797
Imagine if since he forgot his Bow, they have you use a low level one that barely does damage
Actually he thinks Link got lucky
Harry Hume What about Mipha?
Jesse Southwick Mipha never really developed much, she always loved Link so she never really progressed as much as Revali did in terms of character
TheLastHylianTitan
That helps him tho. He is sort of short so he can be faster than any Rito, in theory.
Alex Ramírez Hernández yes but he may be the strongest if there is no other Rito able to fly using his bow because it is heavy and hard To use (in french "manoeuvrer") and he is the smallest Rito

revali's that cocky badass who you never seemed to be able to hate on no matter what. He's just that lovable
"never seemed to be able to hate?" , easily the most and only disliked character in that game for me, he never really did redeem himself in my eyes, even with his special ability and chill theme. He got his ass handed to him to the easiest versions of the blight Ganons and still acted like he was a big deal.
Let me explain why I like him:
While I understand your dislike towards him, the reason why I love him is because of his character.
Well revali said that he only lost because he was winging it, he couldve won if he brought his A game
he only said that to inflate his ego
maybe, maybe not.
For an arrogant ass, he is really a softie. And that's why he's pretty lovable and his theme is amazingly peaceful. Honestly Rito Village is the best in my opinion because it feels so home-y.

I think kass is revali's great grandson or am i weird
I was reading it and when the music changed, the text chabged tl according to the music, in the exact moment.
I am touched....I thank you for those words of kindness. It makes me proud to see that someone gets how hard I worked. Again, I appreciate your words.

Nope i like him to he my fav
Best champion tbh
Micah_ TC he felt like the worst so he acted like the best.
I do, he's my favorite.
Mipha is good but revali is better
Revali’s my favourite champion and I’m absolutely frustrated at how some people seem to downplay his fight against Windblight Ganon saying “he had no excuses, he had the easiest one!” Or “If Link could beat it, why can’t you?”
Implied by the Champion’s DLC, it’s shown that all the champions literally had limited supplies with them adding to the fact that they were unprepared, came with minimal things because 1.
Yea also, following the Rito age laws, he was still the youngest one in the group, and, as seen in the dlc, he even hurt himself one or multiple times, just to practice his gale, though he was never proud of himself and he'd always push himself harder.
also also, each blight was very obviously designed against each champion - in this case, windblight's tornadoes would make flying hazardous to revali
not to mention the makings of a champion book, which confirms that revali flew all the way across hyrule to get to medoh; he must have been exhausted by the time he got there
I even think that none of the champions had their weapons...
If they had them in their fights, wouldn’t the weapons be in the divine beast, where no one can take them ? So if they are in the beasts, you cannot have them as a reward AFTER the divine beast because they would be in it so you could get them DURING the dungeon
So the champions were unarmed when they fought...
Btw I’m sorry if it is not well explained, English is not my first language, I’m French ^^’
Hmm all of these points are very good especially the fact that revali had to fly to Medoh which was in the Hebra region while he at the time was at the Lanyaru gate so yeah that's a huge distance and the path was directly straight across from the castle so he had it bad,
The again the very good fact that the champions had the blights specifically designed to ruin there respective champion AND the champions didn't have there weapons since they wouldn't be with the elders if they were in the beasts,
Over all revali and for the other matter the other champions stood very little if at all a chance.
Hmm well I summed up all of this comments thread.
One last thing for right now stands out is that out of the 5 champions and zelda, revali and ok I don't know if links slow down time thing is even remotely close to an ability but I say that it is but, like I was saying revali is the ONLY one of those 6 besides maybe link to have no champion ability,
Mipha, healing power,
Daruk, protection power,
Urbosa, lightning power,
Link, time slow power maybe,
And Zelda, the sealing power.

I agree, it really reminds me of some of the songs (especially one but I can't remeber where it's from)
Revali's theme always made me feel like there was something more deep and tragic to him, and then seeing him training to no end and constantly failing, his theme made a bit more sense.
This comment explains it perfectly but if only hawkeye could do it as well as revali
Well put. Revali’s demeanor was, understandably, off-putting…to say the least…but there is a sort of wistfulness to his theme that betrays, and confesses to, his posturing. Something that can be difficult to express outwardly.

fUZZI Lin yes indeed, that's what I said: 5 fingers, the first 4 are white (including his thumb) and his pinky is purple (at least to me XD). We can't see it on this picture, it's hidden behind the bow. We can only see the white fingers, the pointed one being the forefinger IMO ^^
fUZZI Lin it does look like that.
fUZZI Lin Do you mean he's flipping you the bird?
"If I was in a room with Link, Astor and Ganon with only two arrows, I would shoot Link twice"
Thanks Michael

..... Okay I get where everyone's coming from..... Truth be told Falco is actually my long lost brother who fell into another dimension. It is rare that us ritos hatch from the same egg, but we were twins.....
Ravioli is the best italian falco in all the world of italy memes
Way to steal my comment from another video.
Hi i didn't knew you made the same joke... sowwy thou~
OML I called him ravioli too
Ravioli LMFAO good job it's so funny !
Emanuel Lopez IM DEAD HAHA RAVIOLI
This and Mipha’s theme are some of the best songs in a Zelda game
It's because of how much I loved the champions that I wated to defeat ganon in botw. Tbh I could've cared less about Zelda, the way they made each one of their personalities unique and loveable made me want to tear Ganon apart. I honestly wouldn't have cared if they pulled some disney crap in the end and just revived all of them, they really didn't deserve what happened. Or instead of killing them why not make them corrupted by Ganon as well and that way you could've saved them all individually.
I miss them ;-;
Yeah. Me too. Camila...... W W What its you?
I just love your works
Same! I wanted to defeat Ganon just to revive them, but when I learned my price after defeating him is just another useless boring Zelda cutscene I went and completely ignored him. Good luck defeating him alone Zelda! I will only enter Hyrule Castle to collect a few things and then leave!
"they really didn't deserve what happened" - proceeds to murder entire glitchtale cast
Cool, you’re a Zelda fan! It’d be cool to see you stream Age of Calamity!
Don't preen yourself just for doing your job.
Revali must be fun from that glass castle revalvi
Revali
Will you return in the DLC as an NPC?
Revali I don't mean to be rude at all, but you really have to stop being so mean to Link...
Mipha Zora Champion
Hello there...
Hello Ravi.. Revali !
Looks like Falco....but let's play the game first....
Nope still Falco...
Triforce Metroid
Falco's Ancestor before Smash 4.
XxxJim the ReaperxxX you mean Melee
Marthboy
Before Falco is born, His Rito ancestor named Revali had quite known Link for quite some time and he wants a fight.
#LegendOfSmashMelee
#LinkVSRevali
And this time, when he says that he "prefers the air", he means it
Because he breathes it lol
Me when hearing this theme: "Alright, Kass where are you hiding?"
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever created, and no one can tell me otherwise.
I never thought I'd say this, but Revali somehow became not only my favorite champion, even my favorite overall character considering I already liked the champions so much.
Lets see, we got Ravioli, Mipha Khalifa, Ex Machida, and The Rock as the Champions of Hyrule. Lovely.

Revali is a reincarnation of Groose
jrpludacrous I always feel that Groose reincarnates as someone jealous of Link or who looks down at him, like
- Mido from OoT
- Gonzo from WW
- That STAR host from TP
And... that's about it XD
Actually, I believe Purlo is a descendant of Tingle. The green pointed hat, mole on his chin, and big blue watch on his waist are a big clue to that. zelda.gamepedia.com/media/zelda.gamepedia.com/a/a0/Purlo.png
I'm pretty sure Ganondorf is a descendant of Groose (he might even be the ancestor of all Gerudos.) while simutaneously being Demise's reincarnation.
Groose stay at Skyloft with others ... who become the Wind Tribe who become the Oocca tribe who become the Rito !
Also, Grosse's Loftwing have the same color as Revali's Feather plumage.
But the Rito evolved from the Zoras, if I'm correct.
so this is going to be the dumbest comment I've ever typed.
so I've had a sever anxiety problem for nearly all of my life, always having the problem of self confidence and being brave. I don't expect anyone to understand, but it's my own motivator that I carry away from this game and Revalis character.
blake chero That's very beautiful, we all have our idols from somewhere. Be proud : D
Not only was it not dumb in any way, this is the most moving thing that I've ever read in a youtube comment. It really applies to me as well and I'm glad someone else feels determined to get to be a proud, self-loving person when hearing this. Thank you for this comment.
blake chero Well...

I am so proud of my Berdly. Just look at how amazing he is here!
Truly, a great gamer.
revali is berdly confirmed
OH MY GOD YES
Both are anthropomorphic birds with wind magic and crippling imposter syndrome that causes them to act arrogant to compensate. I see no difference.
@@morghiplier nah disbelief berdly should be BERDLY, ACE ARCHER AND AVIATOR-

honestly more hyped for more Revali than anything else about The Champions' Ballad DLC, this birb is a delight
Vinesauce reference.
Is it wrong of me to want the champions to be playable in the next Smash Bros. game? I'd love to see some hot Revali vs. Falco action lol
LuckyLinoone Idk it'd be pretty freaken awesome with Urbosa in smash...Urbosas fury could be the ultimate smash ya know?
LuckyLinoone not wrong at all
Well, three of the champions have melee weapons which fit a smash Bros character. But how would you fit Ravali in? He only weilds a bow.
llNightFangll he can swing his bow around idk
LuckyLinoone revali is basically the new falco, according to the community
Revali is like that annoying brother who is always teasing you and never gets tired of it. But, despite that, you know you can count on his wings to soar through the sky when needed. One of my favorites
_he's finally free, free to fly among the clouds once again._
_one last time._
NO THAT’S SO SAD
I WISH THIS GUY SAID "PERSONALLY, I PREFER THE AIR" WHEN YOU HIT WINDBLIGHT GANON IN THE EYE WHEN YOU SHOOT HIM ON THE GROUND
Was... I not supposed to shoot him on the ground??? I literally finished an hour ago ;-;
This would have been a very fun nod to Nintendo’s original cocky bird.
Who else wishes they could play this masterpiece for the first time again
Me everyday

I'm playing BOTW for the first time actually, and this was enchanting. Glad I did Rito first (even if on accident)
@@colony30sshittyproudbannerIn my opinion Rito must be done first. The Ganon fight is also easy. You should find a guy called Sidon next. He has some tricks to break your heart.
@@HeadsUpTV I actually did Rito - Gerudo - Goron and I'm doing Zora rn so I am so sorry
Breath of the Wild is an absolute masterpiece and anyone who is a fan of Zelda, or gaming in general, owes it to themselves to pick up the game.
this game has no story lmao.
a retarded princess gets her entourage killed due to incompetence
That is a gross oversimplification. There's a lot more to it than that.
Then all of a sudden, you realize that you have the rest of your life to make more of those memories
like every ghibli movie/soundtrack pretty much
Ravioli’s theme lmaooo
HANDS OFF MY PREY

Cliché falco pun ._.
Oscar Mardones YOU AREN'T WORTH THE TROUBLE
Revali is my favorite champion, so I made sure to use Revali's gale to deliver the final arrow of light in Ganon. It felt so epic!
When this song started to play in the credits I burst out crying and realised revali is my favourite champion
Am I the only one that likes douchey characters? Ya know, because some people are actually douches in real life? Its fitting. I mean what, do you want everyone in the game to be like "Oh Link, you're so cool! I look up to you and hope that you do super duper well on your quest! Thank you brave hero!"
A little variety is good, people.
that's the reason i liked takumi in fire emblem fates.
TheMadMadman douchey characters are the best tbh
Conquest Takumi on the other hand... yeah that version of him was just a dick.. even to Nohrian Loli's(if you get the scene reference).
link: hi!
revali to link: flips you the bird.
link: ok..
"Good luck sealing the darkness!"
Best voice line for him omg
one of the best champion themes
They're all amazing
@Caboose no Mipha's one is the best
Revali gets even less recognition in Tears, and yet that just adds to how sad and distinct his character is. All the new sages are descendants of the sages of the past. Tulin is given the title of the Wind Sage from his ancestor. The others were related to the old champions.
Revali didn’t have named family, or anyone that was proud of him. He was respected and admired by his peers, but everything he did, he had to struggle to attain.
At the very least, I think Revali would be proud of Tulin. Thats the closest he'll have to a successor.
The two get very close in Age of Calamity.
The fact we all came to this specific video 7 years later says something
This tune really did make me tear up. Right after you beat Vah Medoh, and you meet Rivali. It’s been one hundred years, yet he feels... you feels like a familiar presence from him. Although he can be quite cocky at times, he has a pure heart. A pure heart, which was slain by the darkness of the Calamity, a long, one hundred years ago. This song, along with the Rito Village theme, right after it, really have an emotional effect. Revalis Theme shows the purity of the boastful champion, and Rito Village theme, hints that the inhabitants still deal with the scars of Rivalis death - but they go on anyway, standing - or flying strong.
as cocky as Revali may be, this music is truly beautiful.. does anyone else feel like Revali's theme is SO beautiful like it evokes so much emotion?
This Theme makes me feel even more sad that i finished this game and there is a huge emptynes in me.Hope the Next game will be just as awesome
Are you prepared for a sequel and a prequel
Revali's theme represents him perfectly. It sounds so playful like his rivalry with Link. It isn't anything serious, just a competitive rivalry. Revali Neve acknowledges link's power but certainly knows it in his heart.
My favorite bit of music from the game. Lively and vibrant, yet still somewhat sad and melancholic. A great piece to represent the character of Revali, one full of confidence and vigor, yet who met a tragic end.
hey look! Falco is in Zelda! as douchy as ever!
Personally, i prefer the air !
Hey Einstein, I'm on your side!
personally, I prefer the dair
You dare?
gee ive been saved by link how swell
This song gives me the feels for some reason
It’s weird because revalue was kind of an ass
The fact this dude unlike every other champion had to learn his move unlike inheriting or having it through bloodline
0:57 You're job is far from finished you know. The princess, has been waiting an awful, long time
*Well I'll be plucked*
Don't let the edgy chicken get to you. He'll die twice before admitting that you're great.
Almost 8 years since this game came out and I still listen to this like it's the first day.
Revali is the most popular champion in most eastern players' opinions (japan, china)for his unique arrogance and personality.
I honestly like revali’s personality and character. His pride can be a bad thing sometimes, but I feel like he is misunderstood and he works very hard at what he does as well
RIP Dexter, my fearless, somewhat arrogant little Rooster that died protecting his hens, this theme will always make me think of you.
0:20 that hits the spot man
fr
Falco: Personally, I prefer the air. *hops into tank*
Revali: Bitch, please.
this has easily become my favourite song from botw. it captures the essence of the game and story so perfectly.. it's such a hopeful and peaceful tune, but with such a sad undertone to it?? representing how everyone in hyrule accepts the devastation that's happened to them, but sticks together and does their best to move forward and remain optimistic despite having been through so much. such a simple melody but it seriously makes me tear up. i'm so happy to be a fan of this franchise and to see how far it's come 💛💛 tloz is the best!
i just started crying, right when it started, help lol
im very emotional for revali
i love him. he doesnt deserve hate :(
I’m honestly really sad that I can’t experience this game with absolutely no prior knowledge ever again
