Материал показался сложным из-за того, что недостаточно точно у Мёрфи объяснено, какие глаголы можно использовать после конструкций "He is said to или Two people are reported to.. ".
Не видела ни в одном примере из юнита, чтобы там были конструкции с Will, зато есть present perfect (He is alleged to have stolen a car), present continues, пасивный залог. Есть какие-то правила/ограничения на использование глаголов/ времён после to. Если да, то где эти правила найти?
И может ли "be" (It's said, She is said to..) стоять тоже в каком-то другом времени, кроме настоящего?

Используйте то, что подойдет по смыслу. Не прописаны глаголы, потому что нет такого списка (или в список нужно вносить все глаголы).

Не совсем понятно иногда в какую форму ставить.
В упражнении по юниту некоторые past simple превращались в present perfect, а will становилось просто be :)
Уточните вопрос. не понимаю, что с чем и где согласовывается. Приведите примеры.

be excited (с ed) - это быть взволнованным. excited работает,как прилагательное. Более детально разбираем это в теме 98

Здравствуйте, почему в одном месте в предложении считается герундий просто а в другом как причастный оборот, они бывают так похожи.
Потому что ing-verb может играть разную роль в предлжении

почему в предложении it is time I told you about my new neighbor. Слово tell использовано в прошлом - told ведь речь идет о настоящем! или я что то пропустил?

Откуда взялся Present perfect, если был Past Simple? (😢 И так во многих премерах этого упражнения😢😢 Помогите, пожалуйста❤
to have got - это не present perect, это перфектный инфинитив.

сомнительная история будто дело происходит в 40-е годы, во времена Маккартизма )))
Да ладно, у нас до сих пор обитают бабушки, которые помнят булочки по 2 копейки))) В Америке пропаганда была страшной, вплоть до начала 90-х людей активно пугали красной угрозой и "империей зла". Сейчас, конечно, они это трансформировали и пугают Путиным и Китаем. Как наследниками коммунизма СССР. Если мужчине было,скажем, 30-40, и на него успела повлиять пропаганда,то сейчас ему может быть 60-70 и более. Если его детство припало на тот этап, когда детей в школах учили прятаться от ядерного взрыва, а его папа тайно строил в саду бомбоубежище, то вполне себе человек может не очень хорошо соображать и быть крайне мнительным. Если у него пошатнулось mental health, то он может оказаться таким маразматиком.
А что не так с коммунистами в США? В этом ничего нет незаконного же.
Ну, знаете, дедушка был старенький, в голове до сих пор "красная угроза", опасность ядерной бомбы и всё такое. Для некоторых этот террор не прошел незамеченным,а попросту люди немного свихнулись.
