About that fruit, you can find on wikipedia that its name is Monstera. Monstera deliciosa, also known as the Swiss Cheese plant, is a species of flowering plant native to tropical forests of southern Mexico, south to Panama. It has been introduced to many tropical areas, and has become a mildly invasive species in Hawaii, Seychelles, Ascension Island and the Society Islands.
Beautiful place......I'll be stopping there for a day on a transatlantic Virgin Voyages cruise in April/May 2024. I definitely want to try the fruit at the market and ride down the mountain!!

What this video has failed to mention, explain, and demonstrate is that Madeira has had, since the beginning of the COVID 19 epidemic, one of the strictest and most efficient of forms of control of the spread of the virus, where visitors to the island are tested immediately upon arrival, and asked to wait -- normally between 6 and 10 hours -- for the result in the safety of their rooms. Only then -- in case the result is negative, it goes without saying -- are they allowed unrestricted access to the island's amenities and facilities. This explains for Madeira's extremely low rate of infection, which accounts for the non-compulsory, practically inexistent use of facemasks in public areas, as clearly shown in this video. Disclaimer: I wrote this in a private capacity. I am no Regional Government's spokesperson and, therefore, not in possession of any official figures for the contamination rate on the island. This comment was placed in good faith and it is based on my observations related to recently-uploaded videos on the subject.
As a madeiran...born and raised, whoever is watching the video and thinking "i would love to come here" please reconsider twice, after covid Madeira has suffered with excessive tourism and it is disgusting to see what this place is turning to...

A few years a go we had a few Imigrants from Angola, Mozambique and Cape Verde but that was before the 2008 market crash, after that the construction " Boom " spoted here in Madeira and most of those imigrants went back to their countries or to mainland Portugal, basicaly what i'm saying is that right now there are barely any black people in Madeira, so i have no clue as to how have you heard the injustices they suffer here lol, since..... they are not here....

There are no direct flights from there, you'll have to change in Lisbon. No extra Visa required, Madeira politically belongs to Portugal. 🌹🌸🌺
