Really pleased to see Clone commandos finally coming to Legion. Aso cool to see we’re getting updated sculpts for some of the older stuff. Personally I hope one day we get a new Ep3 Obi Wan that matches Anakin we currently have. Overall the news has really got me hyped to get back into Legion after a long time out!

Geonosians seem pretty crazy. I think you could do a CIS melee skew pretty easily now. No idea how good it would be but it definitely will catch folks off guard

Great point about updated hard plastic sculpts being a great opportunity to show off improved painting skill for those of us who have been with the game since launch. Legion was my first miniatures game that I had to paint, so the quality difference between my first batch of stormtroopers and my shadow collective units is night and day.
Watching Revenge of the Sith last week, I was like, "wait, why aren't crab droids in Legion." Next thing I know, crab droids _and_ Clone Commandos!?" Nice.
The Geonosians look much better than I expected. I really appreciate that they are not a battle force. I'd like battle forces to remain the exception rather than the norm. That said, love the Wookiee Battle force.
Glad to see Legion is continuing to grow with so many exciting things in the pipeline. As you said during one of the live streams, the announcement of reworking old units into the hard plastic does tend to bode well for the longevity of the game.
I am soo excited for Special Operations to be coming out of Beta, with a whole heap of finalised card arts. I would have loved to see some more squads added to it like a true Wookie Squad, Ewoks, and Shadow Collective!
This was a very helpful breakdown, thanks for putting this together! As someone just getting into the game, I’m very excited for new molds of old units (especially since I missed out on special boxes like the Luke vs. Vader and Emperor), but I can also see why veteran players maybe aren’t as excited for a fourth Luke or Vader haha
In response to what you were talking about with the Imperial Range Troopers, Will Shick responded to comments about these being corps. He said something to the effect of these wouldn't be "empire's elite" as corps units. He didn't outright say it, but it seems like they will be special forces.
Very exciting news. Although the Experimental Droids Battleforce may not be as thematic as others, the timing on this release is super awesome for a narrative campaign my group is planning. Thematically speaking I see it as a way of representing the Techno Union or other major corpos.
Super excited to see more factions like Geonosians coming. I am curious to see if we get others in the future. I know Gungans is one I see talked about, so we will have to wait and see though. I am just glad the game is still seeming to get plenty of support moving forward.
The crab droids also were super prevalent in the episodes "The Citadel" and "Citadel Rescue" in Season 3 of the clone wars show. Where Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ashoka lead a handful of clones to break Jedi Master Even Piell and Tarkin out of a maximum security prison by freezing themselves in carbonite and having R2 unfreeze them once they were passed the scanners for the prison. That was such a good little mini arc.
I like how they are making battleforces of existing units, doesn't make them a ton of money but it's great for the existing players. I love this and look forward to more. As always, I'm still waiting for any/all clone variants that we can get. Top unit on my wanted list- Clone Airborne troopers! They could be a nice fit to drop in using the existing "rapid reinforcements" rule and hold down a point.
Wonder if the inquisitors will lead to other inquistor it’s units it would be nice to see some purge trooper. Sidenote it’s nice to see released older units in new posing and plastic
I’m so excited for the Republic Commandos and Delta Squad! I grew up with Republic Commando on the Original xbox so I’m very eager to get them painted and fielded on the tabletop!
Been playing with the new BF builds in TableTopAdmiral (shout out!), and really struggling to build anything i feel really good about. Really wish the other support options were available, especially given that DSD1s and STAPs were both present at the battle of Kashykk😔. The Kasykk defenders feel a little better, but there really isnt any reason to put the defenders in at all, IMO. I guess i just need to get them on the table. Glad for the new content, but would love competetive BFs for the factions not named "Imperials." Cant wait for that free jump and death from above. LET THE TALL, TIPPY TERRAIN BE SUMMONED FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE BIN ONCE MORE!!
And just when I thought that my Republic army was complete.... they announced the Commandos... it took them long enough! I was planning on building a Empire army as well, think I'm gonna wait until they release the new storm troopers then!
Thanks for the update. I just got the soft plastic core set and I thought I was going to have to rebuy it! 2025 release is plenty of time to give this set a good run for its money.
Overall I am really happy with all the announcements, especially the Wookie Battleforce, Clone commandos, the crab droid and the Geonosians, but one thing bugs me: I feel like Poggle's 1 pip is very bad. Since he isn't immune to deflect his attack could totally backfire against Jedi. Also if he doesn't manage to kill the threat he is a sitting duck/bug.
Either shoot something that doesn’t have Deflect if your’re worried about it, or place him in position the turn before and then use his free jump 2 ability to get the heck outta dodge once he has attacked!
I want to build the ultimate kashyk army!! With this new battle force and the persuader tank- the battle of kashykk will be coming to a tabletop near you
As an empire player (more of a collector really), those inquisitors look like fun. Going to need stats on those troops though. It's still a little weird that we don't have Tarfful. I feel like he's at least as iconic as some of the characters that we've had for years. I wonder if the new sculpts for Luke and Vader will be available separately, or if they're exclusive to a new starter. I feel like they could sell the model by itself as an "upgrade" maybe through their website or something. Or a box that just has the new sculpts and either no cards, or a couple of new command cards to sweeten the deal. Unlikely, but fun to wish for. That also opens up the possibility for multiple poses for each of the characters. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with that. These have been my scattered thoughts on the future of Legion.

I was talking to my son the other day about a Chirrut/Baze blister - it would be good if they came with Operative cards/tokens as well as Leader Heavy Weapon versions that could be taken on Rebel Pathfinders . . .
I really hope it's gonna be a detonating gonk droid stand in, rebels using them as a bomb is just really good world building, and it would make for interesting gameplay to have it
Sooooooo glad the seps get a new core unit. They needed it badly. These arent amazing compared to clones, but a sep core without AI is gunna be a huge help for running hero-based lists. Call me crazy, but I sorta feel like they are a couple or three points too expensive. Only range 2, 4 units, no offensive surge. Fleet troopers are 40, and I think the abilities of Geos are great, I dont think its worth 5 points more. Still stoked for these.

On the plus side, I'm really hyped for Clone Commandos, those are one of the units I've been wanting most for Legion!
Also, just saw not long ago a warhammer 40k review from a few years back on your channel. Do you mind making a comparison video between legion and 40k? What could the 2 games "learn" from each other?
I wouldn't say there is much they could learn from eachother, the main things they could is gw could learn that ripping people off is bad, and legion could learn that you shouldn't make 60 factions if you are only going to care about 1 of them
Geonosians are an interesting design. Flying capable, all, obviously a glass cannon group. Would be nice to get both for Legion and as a proxy Vespid-esque group for One Page Rules armies. And here come the clones… quite the barrel of clones… and they are all awesome clones.

Melee Wookiees and Magnaguards also count as corps for battle cards. That means you can use them for hostage exchange.

Anytime the game is expanding and giving army's new units and new ways to play is so exciting. Maybe one day they will move from 800 points to 1000

I think the astromech in the rebel saboteurs is going to have some damage functionality against vehicles. Like an anti-repair keyword when in range 1.
