Richard Stremlow Didn’t have yo get extensions for O2 sensor but my O2 sensors keep coming up with check engine light. Does anyone know if I have to get different ones or have them tone to the new headers?
Hey Americantrucks so I have been watching your videos & you guys help me a lot with installations . So I’m installing Texas speed long tubes on my 5.3 gen 5 and my driver side header hits my steering shaft coupler . Do you have any solutions to this problem? I’ve been looking and can’t find anything & I don’t want to bash in my 1 thousand dollar headers ):
Take the steering shaft off. Make sure to lock in your steering wheel mechanism prior. Find torque specs & re-install. If you can install Headers, One Bolt is effortless lol.
I think it depends. I ran a set of 1 7/8" American racing catless headers on my 14 silverado 5.3 and it threw a code on startup.....I was getting it tuned anyway later that day so it didnt bother me. i'm sure if you run the catted or green catted version you might be ok. if you don't want to tune the truck you can get o2 spacers to correct the codes but trust me,.....the 5.3L is a whole different animal once tuned. I was running down 6.2Ls and I was leveled on 33s. If you want to hear what it sounds like no cats before and after on a Volant (Corsa re brand) Exhaust and then a magnaflow look at a couple vids that I have.
Too many variables to just test these alone....Then you would get people complaining that they are testing 1 7/8" headers on a 5.3L and those people are stupid because it doesn't make a difference. Others would complain about the exhaust being used and lord forbid they use it on a stock catback. Tuning is also a major variable as you can't control the variables in different tuners. I would say with bolt ons and a good tune a catback and these headers you are looking at about 30ish RWHP from the headers alone....but you need atleast some bolt ons to tie it all together. never got a chance to dyno my truck but the butt dyno did notice a BIG improvment....that and also running down tuned 6.2Ls was a very big eye opener.
Hi … Is it cooks or crooks…. Very expensive long tube headers considering what’s available. You can easily get a equivalent unbranded stainless steel mandrel bent 301 SS for 1/3 the price Of crooks I mean crooks LOL.
AmericanTrucks Chevy & GMC so by the time you have the rest of the exhaust done you have 3k tied into a 30hp gain maybe. The concept is right but not the price. Killing the weekend hot rodders and turning it into a rich boy sport.
There are other manufactures out there making more cost effective options! Just gotta do a little searching, these guys are *easily* the top of the top quality-wise, thats all. 👍
@@Tazman1966 43HP at the wheels without a tune, you can extend the RPM range with a tune. These engines really run good and adjust better then you think. a tune will only net you 10 more HP but it wont ping, but if you take into account the RPM extending the tune nets over 60 rwhp around 6000+ rpms. so its a HUGE improvement but it isn't cheap to do it correctly. but without a tune its close to 50 engine HP. its posted online.

AmericanTrucks Chevy & GMC I only have one question, will it pass smog after installing the headers on a 2018 1500 5.3L Silverado?
1:54 "it's kind of exhausting"...I see what you did there!
Do they have any for a 4.3?
No and good thing too, save the rest of us the earache and don’t do any exhaust modifications to your V6 truck man they’re slow and sound like shit.
I already have the borla atak exhaust system. Will these headrs be good with the borla atak or do I have to purchase anything else?.
l Pronox
Im planning on running the same set up ,
Hey! It’s been a while but I’m hoping you’ll get back with me. Did you end up running this setup? And if so how do you like it?
Will a bdx tune suffice without having to do any custom tunes
Would it work on 4.3L 2016 Silverado?
Jack no
lol my advice go back in time and punch the dealer in the face for talking you into the v6 🤣🤦🏽♂️
Will these fit a 4wd ‘17 Silverado 5.3L? Is their a catted Y-pipe for these?
Do they fit a 4x4 truck or does that not matter
Do you a kit for both for tge whole setup? And is a tune required ? And do you have to install wire extentions for you O2 sensors?

Do these add any amount of horsepower on a 5.3 vortec 2002 chevy tahoe?

Is it legal in California
Uhhh ya
But dose it throw engine codes?

👎🏻 for not showing an install or dyno runs

Mikey 2008 yes lol i tired as well too they do work lol

You will understand the difference when met at the stop light. 🧻 😎🦍
$1,200 6yrs ago, now 2024 is around $4,000,
Pretty good increase in power? You bet your ass sonny...You're lookin at about 100 hp at the wheels with an intake a tune and rockers.
Lol dream on
If you do the research, you will find everybody with these engines are getting similar results, jackwagon.
Das Boot mods you listed plus a flex fuel conversion, maybe. Otherwise GTFOH
Mike that’s including the headers, do you your homework, my 6.2 liter was no exception to this rule when it was tuned
Mike you clearly have no idea what a can or rockers will do. So you should gtfoh
👁👄👁 American muscle guy?
1200?!?! It should come with Vaseline. Makes as much sense as a $400 cold air intake.
Kooks makes some of the best exhaust products you can buy out there, and quality headers aren't cheap. You get what you pay for. 😁 -Zach

NICK A so headers and a tube will give me 60 RWHP on my 6.2?
