Thank you
What a great detailed breakdown sweet truck awesome tutorial sir thank you!
Thanks for watching
Im curious did you hook up the high beams, e brake, dome light to door switches?
@@thebosshog2637 I didn’t have any of those things besides high beams and I didn’t hook those up. Basically wanted the main things on the dash to work. Lots of options though!
love your truck i have a 65 c10 short bed fixing to start restoration i cant wait 65 has always been my dream truck i been had it 20 years now
Awesome
Thx dude. These videos are helpful. You're a good mechanic.

Very nice video, thank you for sharing. Much appreciated.
Thanks for watching!
When we went to lst this year happened to stop by the az booth I’m pretty sure and they happened to have some of the rtx cluster for the builds in the shop needless to say first 30 minutes there the show was a bit expensive but made his customers happy
Nice
Once again a great video Id like to put one of those obd2 readers to my dakotas but havent ordered the dakotas yet.
Thanks for the feedback!!
Another great video!!!!
Thank you for watching.
Great 👍 video very detail. 👊🏽👊🏽
Thank you
Why did I think that was a slab of ribs you took out of the box 😂😂 man I'm hungry
Lol
Good info. Thanks.
Thank you!
Very nice work.
I used a piece of 2 inch flat stock aluminum to mount my control box. Just scored it where I needed to bend it and bolted it up by the column where I could access it if I needed for anything.
V.F. Dakota digital i nstalled
Great job and video. 👍
Originally I wanted to do that and then when I started to install I realized I would have to lengthen all my current wires and move my ac and switches so I did the easy route. Mounting them where you can adjust them like you did is the smartest thing to do.
Great video! Very helpful. On the Dakota digital oil sensor did you use thread locker. I didn’t use any on my install cause instructions recommend not to. But I have a small leak. Thank you.
You don’t have to use anything but I like to use some light threadsealant on it.
please educate a dummy like me, what is the switch input and switch for? thanks in advance. love your videos.
It allows you to toggle through options on the screen. Color, gauges, etc. it’s how you program it without the app.
They still use the pink wrapper, I like the new factory original look & the color change, it's so much easy too see than the old one, the gear selection could be larger. Is there a way to manually disconnect the bluetooth so it is not emitting electromagnetic radiation? Does it have a way to dim the lights on the dash? I've been thinking of putting tint film on mine, when you get older those LED lights are painful on the eyes. The odometer fades on Dakota after a few years. I miss having an analog rolling odometer. Would you happen to know why the gear selection shows up backwards on the VHX gauges?
You can turn off Bluetooth, you can dim the lights, not sure about the gear selector on vhx. Thanks for watching. They make good product and have great instructions. Just read back through the manual and it will tell you about the first could things I mentioned.
Great video again! What steering column are you using? looks great!!!
It’s an Ididit column.
Very good video, lots of info, very good splained,I bought a vhx set for my 58 chevy with a 700r4 transmission, wich have a electric magnetic speed sensor on the tail shaft can I use any mechanical gear kit for 700r4 in order to be able to use the sensor from the dakota kit? Any information will help me a lot thanks.God bless!
Dakota digital comes with an adapter for mechanical speed sensors. You will just need to change the gear kit.
I have an LS engine from a 2001 Chevy is the dash compatible with the engine? I would also like to know if they ship to Mexico
Not sure if they ship to mex but yes it will work. Just get the obd2 BIM adapter.
So if I have the bim 01-2 hlly box, it just plugs straight up to the holley terminator x then to brain box then to gauges?
Yes
Thanks for the real good video I got a C10 1966 I want to go for one of those beautiful dashboard what's the price on something like or similar ?? Thanks for the lead bendiciones
The one pictured was $1,200 they have the vhx for $800 but it doesn’t look like the original
Thanks fir the information 👍 blessing brother
How did you get fuel level to work . I choose settings for bim since im running holley too but when i do so fuel level drops to empty ?
I ran the wires from the tank all the way to the Dakota computer. The obd2 BIM doesn’t detect fuel.
@@SIMPLE.C10 thank you for the info
Very nice truck! Maybe I missed it but where did you run your ground or grounds? I have almost 31thousand on my DD VHX with no problem until lately with my fuel gauge.
Fuel ground goes all the way to the tank.
@@SIMPLE.C10 thanks I thought I read that somewhere but I just grounded to the body. I need some new wood so when the bed comes off that will get done 👍
have you done a video on how to remove the whole dash from the truck I have a 65 c10 and I can't figure out how to get the dash out to paint it
Never removed a dash.
Dang I can’t figure it out lol
packing peanuts should be illegal!!!! nothing makes more of a mess to my garage... hahaha
Hahaha. For sure.
I always want to try them with soy sauce 😂
Still have the adapter available for sale?
I sold it. Thanks for asking.
nevermind. watcg the whole video 😂
lol
