This was amazing! I do agree that his newer outfits are some of the best of his career, I absolutely love the Olivier’s one with all my heart and soul! I don’t actually know if the TV BAFTA’s are an in person event because I don’t live in Britain or have the time to research it, but if it’s an in person event, I can’t wait to see what he wears! And I hope he wins, he deserves it!
I'm not even someone who cares much about fashion, but here I am watching a video about all of David Tennant's outfits lol. It's only in the last few months that I've really started to pay more attention to the things he wears at events. Coincidentally though, your favorite is also my favorite. The one he wore on the BAFTA red carpet in February. That suit took my breath away.
I used to think David Tennant was just, y'know, _fine._ Pretty great actor, but not someone I thought about much. Occasionally I'd remember, say, 10's breakdown in The End of Time Part 2, or how ice-cold he was in _that_ scene from Family of Blood, and just think *"...damn."* Not as much as I'd think about Matt Smith or Peter Capaldi tho (both critically underrated Doctors btw!!). But after I watched your video essay, I feel like I really _get it_ now. I understand the obsession! In fact, I think I'm mayyyybe starting to share it 😅 He's just so.... aaaaaaaaa 😁
I love David Tennant. That is why I was disappointed that you did not show bigger pictures of him and less of you and your room. Think about that if there is a next time. Tnx
I love your analysis of David's outfits even more than I love the outfits themselves, which is a lot! Great video! P.S. In the part of the video after you've changed clothes--I think you said it was a different day's recording---the audio volume drops quite low and remains that way except for the clip of David saying he loves to give Phileas Fogg and your goodbye at the very end. LOL I turned my computer's volume up to hear better and those clips about blasted my ears off because they were at your original volume. Anyway, overall the video ROCKS!
Oh Lauren, by now, you know how much I adore you and your videos. I so very much savor and appreciate your love and dedication to David Tennant that you share with us (despite your studies and own performances like your absolutely exquisite in every way, on every level *Crowley's Lament* ) who love him as much as you do. I love your first outfit as a tribute to how David's style has impacted your own style. And your different levels were a fun way to categorize his iconic looks. Your take on his striped jumpers, as I believe Brits call sweaters, which I am not at all a fan of, has caused me to re-think my position on them. In an interview, David spoke about a pink jumper he wore for years and loved at a time in his life when he felt he was overlooked and viewed differently than he is today. Maybe it's a way to help him feel grounded (& cozy as you said). They make you want to hug him vs. jump his bones, which is how he most often makes me feel. David and Georgia give me peacock 🦚 vibes (where the males are the ones adorned with gorgeous and fine feathers whereas the females are very much unadorned and are the ones being sought after without needing the feathers to attract). I love that David has a wife, who is a regular woman, beautiful but not a model, Barbie doll, arm candy, there to boost the male's ego and sense of attractiveness and/or youth. She always looks nice but is never in competition with him in her outfits. She gives off "confident in her man's love & affections" vibes. He seems to confirm that she has every right to feel so. That Georgia is so much younger suits David's adorable & infectious child-like, wide-eyed wonder with which he moves through the world. Sometimes, Georgia's approach even makes her seem way older and stuffier than David ever could be. There are a few other iconic looks (like his self described "poo" colored suit with a gorgeous shade of yellow tie and socks) not included, but you certainly hit the crème de la crème looks. By the way, David's sock and tie collection and characters' best looks could occupy their own videos of praise or honorable mentions. In true German form (I'm "Verdeutscht" , a colloquial term for being a foreigner who has become more German in certain ways than the Germans themselves), I gingerly dare to offer some critique mostly due to production. The pictures of David were disappointingly teeny tiny. Even pausing to enlarge the pictures didn't help because the pixels blurred. I know each of the outfits you featured, but I would have loved to have had an upclose view of them while you delivered your appraisals. I love your wall hanging, but being nearly front and center for David's looks made it, being a central image, frustrating. A split screen, equal size of your face and David's looks would have been a divine pairing. At the point of your costume change, the level of your mic sound dropped in half ( on my end), making it challenging to hear what you had to say... and I always want to hear what you have to say. Humbly submitted with sincere thanks and appreciation for your time and efforts!
Thank you for the video! I love the Hamlet photoshoot too. I'm pretty sure that the last gorgeous suit is not decorated with shooting stars, they are fireflies - the greenish colour and the ethereal, whimsical tails of light remind me very strongly of them. The bug-shaped buttons on the shirt are similar to what Photinus pyralis looks like with its wings ounstreched. Either way, what a stunning ensemble!
13:29 for sure is the lighting and the background! His face also looks pale. I feel like a warmer light or outside natural background was needed for that photo session. He could have look quite pretty
Love this commentary! Also, what is that purple wall decor hanging above the bed? I ADORE the shapes and curves and purple hues, it's my favourite colour. Ha! Edit, is it his fave too?! ❤❤❤ And yours. Kindred spirits 😊
Amazing video, the true fashion icon was the one in our hearts all along (oh wait that's still David lol) but i need to say about halfway through you helped me make the realization that 'lapel' is pronounced 'lapelle' and not like how it's spelled. god help me.
I don't blame you for not shutting up about David. He is God's gift to humankind! ❤❤❤
Listen never shut up about David Tennant, your videos about him are amazing
I love what you have, but the ‘leave trans kids alone you absolute freaks’ is a tier of its OWN. PURE PERFECTION. I LOVE IT. IT IS MY CHILD
I'm gonna use the phrase

THANK YOU

PS: A game of being able to move the squares around to different tiers to see how our categories might differ to yours would be SO much fun. 😂
