      +LemonWedge123 on the scale of 100 million years, even distant satellite orbits will eventually decay or drift off due to Earth/moon gravity or the tug of other planets (assuming we don't invent some infinite power source/automatic orbit correction)

      +edwin6146 are you kidding me? god is a construct made by the human themselves, because they knew apeshit about the universe back than... We killed ''god" at the point when WE began to PROVE the laws of physics and just how things came into existence by actual facts that we discoverd and wrote down to our knowledge. Don't you get it? WE are god himself we created the universe by discovering these laws and observing the events that occour in it. We filled up the blank space in our head. if we broke it down to the core, the brain is a instrument that can observe and interpret the universe. so my conclusan is that by gaining knowledge, we shape the universe for us to interpret we live in.

Why is Earth the only planet in the so called solar system with life. Humans are the most special creatures in the whole universe. The way we think, our ability to create, is not just natural selection. It's more than that. We have purpose on this so called planet. We are not just accidents that formed from an explosion that happen 14.7 billion years ago.

      Highly doubt that we will ever leave this planet and colonize another... None of the planets or moons are habitable in our solar system, and attempting to terraform is still well beyond our capabilities. Travel to a exoplanet as well, as with current technology it would take hundreds of thousands of years just to leave the solar system... At the rate that humans are actually destroying the planet, we won't be here long enough to even try and make those advancements required...

    • @MrLourie
      @MrLourie 8 років тому +7

      +It's Okay To Be Smart So, the video begins with the assumption that humankind will not be around, or exist, "100,000,000 Years From Now". We, as the human species, have existed, so far, for just 200,000 years. Yet, the dinosaurs were "intelligent" enough to survive at least 100,000,000 years. Any alien geologist coming upon a peculiar brown-grey planet will not need to probe further than just below the clouds of pollutants. And, there, they will discover the thin sheet of the Anthropocene, and its bed of evidence, exposing a "big brained" but "small minded" people. A culture robbed of its potential by its own hand, and blinded in a flash by the shadows of hostility. "It's Okay To Be Smart", but it's better to be wise. Wisdom affords you the knowledge to best employ your intellect.

But I like the idea. It will be exactly like returning to your long-forgotten home.

    • @SpacePatrollerLaser
      @SpacePatrollerLaser 8 років тому +2

      +Derek Park It's hard to say; We're talking about 100,000,000 years from now.It is extremely possible that due to the evolutionary process of "radiation" there may be several dozen species of "Man". This most certainly will affect how they think and interpret the past. See Brian Aldiss' BIG ANCESTORS. Entropy also plays a part. Read the latter FOUNDATION stories, where earth is practically forgotten (factor into that ROBOTS OF DAWN). Read also DRAGON RIDERS OF PERN and see how, over time, things get lost or reinterpreted. Also what happens to records if a civilization collapses and they have to deal with more pressing matters. Or what if single lifetime interstellar travel is not achieved for 100,000 years and the 300 or so interstellar colonies were planted by multi-generational ships then 300,000 years a useful FTL breakthrough was made? Read Brian Aldiss STARSHIP (UK; NON-STOP) 1958 to see how things get lost. Rome fell only about 1550 years ago and we just recovered their method of making concrete that was stronger than anything we have made until we did. Dark and Middle Ages rope was far inferior to what the Romans used and I don't know if that was ever recovered or we just developed something else using synthetic fibers

All that happens is that they rich simply to the early wrok in the creation of a market. then someone gets the urge to expand the market, thatn's how Danelectro was founded in 1954 to bring down the price of a decent quality electric guitar to a generally affordable one

      It's more likely only some portions of history may be "lost" beneath the rest of history (as in plenty of people know about Rome, Greece, Egypt, Mesopotamia, & China, but don't know specifics of their histories other than they had empires, how they dressed, & the occasional name of a leader). If anything it's far more likely that history will be preserved yet distorted & embellished as some caches of information are lost, and histories may get mingled with other accounts (even literature) in confusion, thus getting becoming a mythology with differing versions & viewpoints looking back at a haze. By then different planets may have been terraformed to closely resemble Earth's biome, & there could even be dispute as to which "Earth" was the original.

    The one problem I have with this video is that you said we've made enough concrete to cover the entire planet. That's quite a stupid claim if you don't follow up by saying how thick that layer would be. I mean, having a layer of just 1 molecule thick, or one that's a meter thick, there is quite the difference there. So yeah, the claim that we've made enough concrete to cover the planet just doesn't say anything at all.

    For the first time on earth, humans are a specie that are intelligent enough to live for as long as the universe allows us to, we make changes and adapt to any condition, we realize our own mistakes and can create new things in such a short space of time. Yet we are not predicted to live for that much longer. But it's the simple fact that humans are capable of living for a very very very long time. Yet despite all the evidence of us destroying the earth and changing it for the worst. We don't change anything. Think of all that has been accomplished in just 10,000 years of our 200,000 years of existence. We have changed the earth forever, the build of the human body will unlikely change due to the fact that we do not rely on natural selection like animals. We will only learn more and become capable of building larger scale structures and migrating to harsher environments. We will begin to explore deeper space and look at other planets as a place to not only explore but to live, cure diseases, help the poor, stop the extinction of innocent animals. The sad truth is, that because humans can now think for themselves and do not follow rules that prevent certain events happening, because there are things such as greed and crime and war that it prevents humans from ever reaching their full potential. Humans weren't made to just sit and watch TV all day or working 9-5 doing something they hate, to fight or to bully, to live in fear of being blown up by a landmine or an airstrike because people don't get along from the other side of the world. We are one race. The human race and we constantly try to pull each other down. The best way I can describe it is, there are 2 people in a car race, one person is responsible for the cars mechanics before the race, the other for driving the car in the race. And whichever driver wins is given a lot of money. As a representation of today's society, instead of helping the driver win and maybe getting some of the money in the end for helping, he purposely makes the car slow just so that the driver can't get more, instead of helping him. Like driving 30 kph on the road because you just want to annoy the person behind you. Todays world is a great world I'm not going to lie. But it could be 1000x better.

    • @flavorlessquark8614
      @flavorlessquark8614 7 років тому +4

      It could indeed, but there is so many of those people. Maybe not stupid or evil, but just simply ignorant of our condition. And there is no use telling them about it, they simply won't consider it. I've always wondered why so little people talk about those things. Why nobody on TV has brought up the fact that there's so many of us now that at this rate there soon won't be enough resources for all of us. Why is no one doing anything. And it's true that we'll probably survive, or at least it's what I want to believe. But we just can't learn from the past. how many wars have been fought, yet we're still fighting. it's a fact. we like violence. It feels good to make war. to prove that we are the strongest, and so even if we were to survive, we would probably repeat
      all our error but with an infinitely more powerful technology each time.By the time we realize what we've done it'll be too late. Animals will be extinct CT, plants too, and then we'll die too. There's so little people aware of what we're doing, and lost of them don't have the power to change anything, and if they do, others will stop them. It's terrible really. I don't know what we can do about it.

      Ryan Bamford Seeing all these uneducated bafoons bring up their hypocritical beliefs such as God to make an argument and question the fact of our capabilities is an insult to progression. One day religion will die and all this hate the world inherents today will subside, and maybe then we may truly evolve into what we're meant to be.

      ***** actually it is possible, let's not forget how long winter animals hibernate for prolong months, all that's needed to be figured out is that how can the duration be increased to years and what medium is required to be in prolong hibernation (that's surely not freezing, obvious that medium just doesn't make sense) so what's required is all possible mechanisms and testing it up, we right now are way behind in this stuff, perhaps in about 400-500 years we might achieve more to this knowledge

    The "pave the whole Earth" thing was scary. I mean, you didn't say how thick the pavement would be but still, given how much concrete contributes to our greenhouse gas emissions, I'm afraid concrete will cement our future.

      1 kg of concrete per square meter. Density of concrete is about 2400 kg per cubic meter. So how high would a 1 kg block of concrete be, with two sides with the length of 1 meter? If my calculations are correct, we are talking about 0,417 mm thick layer. That is pretty weak. A 0,417 mm deep layer of concrete spread on one square meter would be 1 kg in weight. You can surely imagine one kilogram of regular flour and how you try to spread it even on the area of 1 square meter in your kitchen. If flour has a density of about 500 kg per cubic meter (about 4.8 times less than concrete), you should get a "block" with two sides 1000 mm long and a height of about 2 mm, which sounds reasonable if I imagine it now. If I made the video, I would omit the "pave the whole surface of earth" claim.

      The sun has roughly 5 billion years worth of hydrogen left to "burn" before it starts to "burn" helium and move off of the main sequence. The sun will grow larger and engulf Mercury and Venus. Life will cease on Earth and geologic activity would probably cause massive eruptions of lava that will reshape land formations. However, we know a great deal about the planets in our solar system just by understanding other planetary bodies like Earth. I'm sure aliens will be able to piece together Earth's history just as we could piece together Pangaea and the extinct forms of life that have existed here.
