I never did the abyss .......... at the beginning I only did it for the free 4 stars and never again. Also I never tried the Imaginariun Theater and I really hate the Card Games!!!! But I still like Genshin Impact which was my only Gacha game, I never tried one before, I only played MMORPG. I started to play Genshin in October 2020 and I am still enjoying it!
i have been active for 877 days and have run out of content to play, nowadays i just get on it daily to farm crystal fly cores, overworld artifact fodder routes, collect sweet flowers, farm leylines do events ,and claim commission awards/welkin gems. it takes me abt an hour for my daily routine lol
That's some dedication. I can't get myself to do artifact routes everyday even tho they take just ~10mins. I remembered: I need to learn second route to do them everyday

Great guide, honestly! I feel like most guides for beginners lean into "prepare for the endgame content from the start" type of advices, and it's so strange for me, like, let beginners be beginners! First 25-30 adventure ranks are perfect for experimenting with characters, because you don't need much to play them. You don't need to hoard your resin until ar 45 or only pull for Xilonen, Furina and Nahida, if you want to just enjoy the game.. I've been playing since 2.1. I was Noelle mainer until ar 56. For a month or so I spent every primogem on standard banner. I did spend fragile resin before ar 45. Did i die? Did i get banned? Hell no. So yeah, play casual, if you want, world will not end if you level up your Qiqi
That building character to usable state is what I did back in the early days. My waifu is Jean, so she's the only character I really built in order to save reaources for Ayaka, cause we know she'll be released in Inazuma. Since Jean can be played as an anemo/phys DPS on overworld and farming domain, I simply built other character like Sucrose, Barbara, Kaeya, Xiangling, Amber to the state where they wont get one shotted in Domain, I only need them as proper shield breaker anyway 😂. With the bonus HP & def from artefacts, they only need like lvl 40 to work safely & comfortably as shieldbreaker on WL 8.
With similar 1500+ days under my belt, these were probably the best new player tips I have ever seen. Good job! The only thing I would probably add is a tip about spending. Namely to avoid feeling like you need to spend money on it, especially early on when you feel weak and chasing your rising world level. And the fact that the game from its principle will allow you to spend horrendous amounts of money so it's your responsibility to decide what's the right price you pay for your entertainment and stick with it.
As an f2p, the Abyss and IT are highly reccomend, especially after I completed the chests and puzzles up to this point, and I've completed the events also up to this point. Also, I wanna be a collector, but as an f2p, that's simply unrealistic unless I have 120k bucks per year income, which won't happen to me anytime soon.
Nice summary. #3 - absolutely. 3 years into Genshin, and I wish I had stopped looking at tier lists earlier. It helps to know who is good, but really, there are underrated characters on every list and your needs may not be filled someone in S Tier or A Tier... Characters like Tartaglia, Diluc, Collei, Yao Yao, and Ayato are IMO criminally underrated, and ones I use all the time despite ranking. #4 - for sure build everyone if you want. That's how I make my teams - everyone is level 90 with a level 90 weapon and 8/8/8 talents. They can all rock and roll at WT IX and in the Abyss floor 12 if I feel like it. :)
My issue with genshin is that progress slows down to a halt. Chest = 2 primo, 1wish = 80chests at the start when you don't have anything, it's ok. But after you have most 4* on c6, getting more copies is worthless, especially when Amber is only c1 after all these years. Wishing has reached a point where: do I have 160 wishes saved? the only interesting part is if I win 50/50 for the next time; but everything else has lost its charm. I used to do artifact routes when I needed the xp, now my inventory is full of 5* and I have no more space for the new characters. Everyone is built, but there is no way to min/max the latest characters. It's in a paradox, on paper it wants you to play for years every day (even if not much, enough to remain interested), but the game part is finished in 2 years at most. Now they create new problems and solutions to not call them directly power creep. Instead of adding/completing stories of existing characters, they will instead keep adding new ones (how else can they make money?). As much as I like hoyo event where people create amazing animations, the only thing they have in common with genshin are the anime models, because this is how starved we are for content.
I've started up a fresh f2p account just for fun to see what the beginning was like again. I forgot just how many limitations new players have. Without game knowledge, the early zone limitations seem like a big turn-off for new players. But I've been having fun going through all the old quests.
I played in like the 1.0 versions. I was so bored and fed up with the new player limitations that I quit the game for four years, never thinking I’d pick it up again. My gf got me back into it and when I saw how massive the map is and how much content they added from version 1.0 to 4.8, I immediately started playing the game again. The fact that these new player limitations still exist to this day is quite unfortunate

I'm currently missing *two* of the entire game's playable characters, and I've leveled all of my characters to at least 80 except Aloy (because what is she even doing here), most of them to 90. I still only even *attempt* floor 12 of the abyss every other cycle, tops. Because a lot of the time, I just don't enjoy it, and 200 primos isn't worth giving myself a headache over. That's literally less than five bucks worth.
I’m technically a new player and as soon as I got hooked into the story, it took me 3 months to run out of content in the game. Most of the time I end up building characters according to the meta and find it mostly boring nowadays. The only thing keeping me going is the Archon Quests.
Great tips I’m been playing for around 3 years and followed these as common sense, before Sumeru many overhyped kazowa and Tao as must have characters but the game never pushed me into it especially the abyss with its crappy rewards plus i couldn’t like these two during story cause they were minor and plain so i used day 1 Sucrose and Yanfei to clear the game until inazuma end which made them my favorites from their elements hence proving all characters can be underrated or overrated by players.

NONONO haha, Genshin counts them as "days logged in", not total playtime. As long as you log in, it doesn't matter how much time you spend, they will count it as an "active day" :P

Yeah, you'll get to endgame soon enough. Why rush for it? Burnouts happen for those kinds of reason.
