@thewingitrunner not as fast as you! Currently for a half I average 9.3 to 10 min miles. I'd like to be a steady 8.3 or 9. Eventually I'll get there! I just started running again this last year
@kierangolding737 Thanks for watching, mate. Problem with the gopro. It changed modes at mile 18 and recorded that. Still worked out okay. Just missed the central park scream and my post race chat, haha. See you at XC maybe?
@@thewingitrunner Cool, I will be at Cirencester XC but unsure if I will run yet but will be there to watch, will do more off road training next couple of weeks.
@lowershawfarm thanks for the lovely comments, and thanks for watching. Did you run or watch the race? Share with anyone that might also like to watch lol.
@nycwayfare only problem I had with the gopro was it went into timewarm for the last few miles. Other than having to run and open up the battery door to swap batteries. The cool air while running makes it not over heat etc. Thanks for watching
@nycwayfare I forgot to put a fresh battery in at the start. So, the first battery was changed early in race. Then, the second battery was changed around 18/20 miles. I use a small attachment for the gopro, so it leaves access for me to open the door while running. Open the gopro door and take the door of, take battery out, reach in back pocket for new battery. Slide battery in, put door back on. The used battery goes in the back pocket. For a half marathon, 10k 5k etc I don't need to change the battery.
Great video. Awesome job. Congrats. I was captured in the video for first couple of miles so just wondered how you felt about the carnage of mile 1. How oh how, could some really slow joggers be allowed start in front of 2.50 marathoners. I haven't encountered this issue in any other world major marathon.
@liamcotter8512 thanks for watching, and I'm glad I managed to catch you. I knew it was going to be like that, as I ran the half marathon last year and it was even worse at the start. Check out the video lol. I think they should have cones and make the stay to the left or right for the first mile so we can get past easier. It was crazy to as the wave numbers behind us started otherwise of bridge and had no on in front of them. Other than the start I loved the race, although I wasn't fully fit. How was it for you?
@@thewingitrunner Thanks for your reply. The price you pay for New York I guess! I have done them all a couple of times and New York is still the most special in my opinion. It just shows that marathons are not all about PB's. I ran 2.54. Well off my PB but very happy as I was in control to the end. I think your video is the best as there are no Sub 3 videos like yours which just give raw fottage. When I want to replay the magic memories of NYCM, I will be replaying your video, not others🙂
@liamcotter8512 it is up then with Boston and, of course, London. I am glad you enjoyed the footage. I record like that for memories. When racing, you don't take in the sights and miss a lot of things. So I can sit back and watch it. Share the video with anyone else who might like to watch the vlog. Congratulations on all 6 majors done. So, New York, is your number 1 major? I also have video from London, Boston and Chicago all filmed in the same way.
@@thewingitrunner That's amazing. I have just seen your other major videos now. So looking forward to watching these. Yes indeed I would rate New York No 1 as far as most memorable marathon. This was my third New York. European marathons are much quicker and much more predictable weather wise but I don't find them anywhere as memorable. (Maybe London apart as I also think London is very memorable).
@liamcotter8512 cool. Hope you enjoy them. Boston was my biggest struggle. I'll let you watch and see, though. Have yet to run a European Marathon, yet as wanted to do the 6 majors first. Before taking the quicker European courses, like Valencia, Sevilla, and Copenhagen etc
Nice video Chez. Very impressed by the 38 second pit stop. 🤣🤣 I’m tempted to do a marathon next year. If I did it would be Abingdon. I followed Andy Raynor around Abingdon marathon a few weeks back to get him some footage and definitely felt inspired to have a go. Will you be doing the Swindon Half next year?
@grahamg9811 yes. Pulled the shorts to the side and away we go, lol. Yes, I'll be doing Swindon Half as long as I'm abroad racing. You might also like Newport Marathon if you didn't want to do Abingdon.
@@thewingitrunner Ye Newport is closer to me than Abingdon but my parents still live in Abingdon so I could crash there the night before. I’m still going to train for a marathon whatever happens. 👍👍
Loved this! So great to run with u while on the treadmill!
@@leyannedelgaudio6846 thanks for watching. You training for anything at the moment?
@thewingitrunner yes! I have another half marathon coming up in few months. Working on getting faster!!!
@leyannedelgaudio6846 cool. We'll good luck and hope the training goes well. Whats your current half marathon time?

Great video Chez, well done on marathon. Very different video format with from mile 18 to end, looks likes everyone is skating....

Really captured NY Marathon vibe.
Hypnotic watch.

GoPro must have overheating and battery issues, but you managed to capture the whole thing.
