@liamcotter8512 thanks for watching, and I'm glad I managed to catch you. I knew it was going to be like that, as I ran the half marathon last year and it was even worse at the start. Check out the video lol. I think they should have cones and make the stay to the left or right for the first mile so we can get past easier. It was crazy to as the wave numbers behind us started otherwise of bridge and had no on in front of them. Other than the start I loved the race, although I wasn't fully fit. How was it for you?

@@thewingitrunner Thanks for your reply. The price you pay for New York I guess! I have done them all a couple of times and New York is still the most special in my opinion. It just shows that marathons are not all about PB's. I ran 2.54. Well off my PB but very happy as I was in control to the end. I think your video is the best as there are no Sub 3 videos like yours which just give raw fottage. When I want to replay the magic memories of NYCM, I will be replaying your video, not others🙂

@liamcotter8512 it is up then with Boston and, of course, London. I am glad you enjoyed the footage. I record like that for memories. When racing, you don't take in the sights and miss a lot of things. So I can sit back and watch it. Share the video with anyone else who might like to watch the vlog. Congratulations on all 6 majors done. So, New York, is your number 1 major? I also have video from London, Boston and Chicago all filmed in the same way.

@@thewingitrunner That's amazing. I have just seen your other major videos now. So looking forward to watching these. Yes indeed I would rate New York No 1 as far as most memorable marathon. This was my third New York. European marathons are much quicker and much more predictable weather wise but I don't find them anywhere as memorable. (Maybe London apart as I also think London is very memorable).

@liamcotter8512 cool. Hope you enjoy them. Boston was my biggest struggle. I'll let you watch and see, though. Have yet to run a European Marathon, yet as wanted to do the 6 majors first. Before taking the quicker European courses, like Valencia, Sevilla, and Copenhagen etc

@helsmi32 please explain more? what are you talking about? You don't see my face while running, and you see all other runners for the whole race? You watch the race or just the start of vlog lol

So 8.30- 10 mins, 11-15 mins , 19-24 mins isn't you then? It's some constructive feedback that actually some people search for parkrun videos to see views of the course

@helsmi32 oh I see. I'm sorry I thought this comment was on the marathon video. This is because I was just going to take it easy and not race and film others. The. I decided to race hard and had the selfie stick. If you look at other parkrun, you will see I wear a chest strap.

@nycwayfare only problem I had with the gopro was it went into timewarm for the last few miles. Other than having to run and open up the battery door to swap batteries. The cool air while running makes it not over heat etc. Thanks for watching

@@thewingitrunner Oh my gosh, so you changed your battery mid-marathon, with a few miles left.

@nycwayfare I forgot to put a fresh battery in at the start. So, the first battery was changed early in race. Then, the second battery was changed around 18/20 miles. I use a small attachment for the gopro, so it leaves access for me to open the door while running. Open the gopro door and take the door of, take battery out, reach in back pocket for new battery. Slide battery in, put door back on. The used battery goes in the back pocket. For a half marathon, 10k 5k etc I don't need to change the battery.

@@thewingitrunner yep! I'm gearing up for Berlin Half Marathon in April - have to say that my 10K time twice your time but aiminf to do better (2:06 is the target!) any tips or workout pointers willingly and graciously accepted. Will spread the word on your channel. Keep doin' what ya doin!

@patrickedwards5804 Thanks, mate. Consistency is the key to running, getting the training in. Try and do some hill reps within your training. Also, 1k efforts. As in try for now, 1k effort 30 seconds slower than your 5k pace. Then jog for 1k easy, 1k effort quicker than your first effort. 1k jog easy. Then, one more half effort quicker than the other 2. Do this every two weeks and when you feel you are getting faster or it's getting easier. Do 5 reps. And first rep 15 seconds slower than your 5k pace. Well good luck with the half. Let me know how it goes

@@thewingitrunner All types but at the moment I like the Asics Sky paris and Adidas Pro 3. I just always find it funny when you see a sea of Vapor/Alphafly. I call it the everyone and their grandma shoe. 🤪

@theandroids it's because Nike marketed the shoes well, got top Atheltes to run for them, and win races. So people think still I must get a pair. As they are afraid to try new brands, etc. The biggest change I have seen is in pro triathlon. Used to be fully nikes and alphafly. Now it Hoka, Asics, Adidas etc
