The true gold medal winner, our Olympic champion of hearts, is Kelvin Kiptum. May he rest in peace. It makes me very sad that almost no one mentions him.
@@sebastianschuster11 For some unknown reason the Olympics didn't upload the Paris 2024 women's marathon video coverage on their official UA-cam channel as they did for the men's. However, the full video coverage of the race has been published on the official Olympics website, you can find it in the Videos > Paris 2024 replays section (link of the Paris 2024 video replays web page is in the description of the video for the men's marathon otherwise, at the top). Tell me if you were able to find it with these info, and if that helped other people too ! 😉
Under normal circumstances he would have taken silver behind the world record holder Kelvin Kiptum who died in a self-inflicted car accident. Olympia has lost the potential Olympic champion Kelvin Kiptum. The Marathon competition has lost its best.
Thank you for posting the full marathon video, difficult but beautiful course with a lot of variety, alternating stunning landmarks, urban and rural sections, portions through the forest, cobbles, hills, bridges, tunnels, ... everything really, and to top it all, lots of people cheering along the road, one of the best olympic marathon course ever.
This actually a beautiful marathon. The commentators and the new challenge for everyone with the crazy hills. It showed who worked hard up on mountains.
Was very happy to be in the stands at the finish line to see a great finish. Excellent, organized effort by Paris! And two Americans in the top 10 was amazing! A great day!
Tamirat Tola supremely talented, flies, glides, pulls the whole of his body like an aeroplane sailing through a cloud, keeps the speed, keeps the strength, gives no chance , so confident of running, of winning. Olympic champions are born of steel and then moulded into gold.
And I as a very bad marathonist run 10km in 1 hour and 20 minutes with pace varying between 5 and 8 minutes :( watching them run already is enough to me feel tired lol
@@iStrygwyr Very, very few people can run that fast no matter how much they train. You need a very rare talent to run like that. Well it's not so rare in east Africa but very rare everywhere else.
It was the most sane, thoroughly and meticulously planned and broke away after the brutal hills as he simply trained better than all the others for the hills.
This marathon was really supposed to be won by Kelvin Kiptum. All his results so far indicated this. Unfortunately, his career was interrupted by his premature terrible death. RIP Kelvin Kiptum (1999-2024)
Eliud Kpchoge and Bekele are Athletics legends, but in these games it was clear that they no longer have the capacity to win Olympic tournaments. age is a burden, maybe it's the best time to retire
Eliud won 16 out of 20 marathons he competed in before Paris Olympic, with Berlin 2023 being the last major he won. While I agree age might catch him up and the next Olympic won't be in horizon, I believe he still has that pull to compete in the elite level. It takes a village to win marathon, and this year has been a turmoil in his life off the field especially after death threat to his family in regards to Kiptum's accident. With better mental state, hopefully we can still witness his love for the game in a next couple of years.
or move on to master's age group records for specific events or for the country the race is run in. Maybe even go on to run road 50K and longer events like the South African Comadres Marathons or the Two Oceans Marathon also in South Africa or even some bigger 6 to 12 hour events done on a city block/in a park on a bike path.
I swear, the hills were brutal! For a second I felt like they're running UTMB 😄 All in all, this was definitely a beautiful course, and the crowd showed up. Couldn't ask for a better Olympic marathon!
As a young Ethiopian in his 20s who loves athletics more than any sport, also lives closer to Entoto, and has never seen Ethiopia win a gold medal in the Olympics marathon, Tamrat Tola makes me cry.
Thanks for uploading. Please also share Women Marathon with a thrilling finish by two of the greatest athletes in history with Sifan Hassan winning the gold.
just after 1 hour 24 minutes in commenter says "and although he's ONLY run 2:09:01" discussing a Japanese runner...if that guy only knew how fast a 2:09 marathon REALLY is....SMH
This is total punishment to the athletes but in all it came down to how prepared you are as an athlete ❤ Kudos to all of them 🎉I look up to them and I will definitely become one surely ❤🎉❤
Olympics, please upload the women's marathon as well as the longer running track events and the men's and women's field events. It's my personal feeling that it is frustrating that the field events don't get uninterrupted coverage and to see it again uninterrupted would be greatly appreciated.
He would have won the gold. No doubt. He has the world record and never had the chance to compete as the world record holder. This is one of the most tragical cases in the history of sports. Just very sad.

@@michael46 Agreed! I saw Kelvin Kiptum run side by side Tamirat Tola from 35 to 39 km, then Kiptum pulled away for the gold!
Running together in Valencia and London, Kiptum consistently showed a significant lead, making him the clear gold medal favorite
Hurry up and post the full race replay of the women’s marathon!!! That was one of the most epic events at this years olys
I have been waiting..no post until now :(

FINALLY THE FULL VERSION OF THE MEN'S MARATHON.
This actually a beautiful marathon. The commentators and the new challenge for everyone with the crazy hills. It showed who worked hard up on mountains.
Participating and completing marathon is already a winner for me...more mentally tough than any other track event
Kipchoge is still the greatest marathon runner of all time, winning 16 out of 20 is still very impressive
Was very happy to be in the stands at the finish line to see a great finish. Excellent, organized effort by Paris! And two Americans in the top 10 was amazing! A great day!
1:36:40 for the steep hill 😮😮🔥🔥
Thank you!
Eliud Kipchoge is out! We will miss you so much the greatest marathoner of all time!

Tola is hill specialist!
These guys run the first 5km in 15m39s as if it is nothing!
that was a slow 5k split for them
And I as a very bad marathonist run 10km in 1 hour and 20 minutes with pace varying between 5 and 8 minutes :( watching them run already is enough to me feel tired lol
@@viktorullyou will get there if you train hard like them. And it takes years to build that endurance and speed
@@iStrygwyr Very, very few people can run that fast no matter how much they train. You need a very rare talent to run like that. Well it's not so rare in east Africa but very rare everywhere else.
They also weigh nothing
well done olympics for uploading this
Abdi Bashir 21 second of winner, in comfortable 2nd place finish. Upgrade from Tokyo 3rd place. Back to back medalist. Great achievement
it looks like they are jogging, but they are moving at a speed of 20km/h....try put that on a treadmill
Normal treadmills don't even reach the kind of paces they run 42km at, forget shorter events like 5k and 10k. Literally inhuman!
I missed Kipchoge so much ❤
& Congratulations Tamirat Tola for his Insane Run ♥️
It was the most sane, thoroughly and meticulously planned and broke away after the brutal hills as he simply trained better than all the others for the hills.
Top level performance from Tola, Abdi Bashiir, and Kipruto. Congrats 🎉

Eliud just can't run hills. Each time he tries, he fails. He's highly specialised. Fast on flats.
i feel that my legs worked out when watching this

Why is it surprising?
I played this video in 0.25x speed so they could have a rest

Hahahaha
The commentators made this such an amazing race.

I was promised we'd see athletes reduced to a walk on this course. Instead we get Olympic records on both the men's and the women's side.

From first to third and all competitors and finished that distance: are great enough. Congratulations.
I love to see the point breaking others .
When will the individual showjumping, team qualifiers and finals be downloaded? We want them in full?
