The reason they use pots for their dragon fruit in California is for drainage, easy amending, and most importantly gophers. Gophers really love eating dragon fruit roots, and will completely decimate your crop.
Whatever Chinese Jujube is in that yard looks great. Hopefully it gets enough chill hours to fruit. I am under the impression Jujube are like Mulberry’s, if you coppice it down in late winter it may fruit even if it didn’t get enough chill hours.

Yes! Nematodes can be challenging here. It’s something we have to deal with on a regular basis.
