Can’t tell you how refreshing it is to hear someone say they made a mistake. That’s why I love your videos. You’re an honest guy. I really appreciate that. The build looks great!
Great video, thank you! Been searching everywhere for the info provided from 10:20 to 15:00. I think I'm on the right track but I don't have a press to get the spud shaft on properly. Will seek options. As you mention towards the end it's nerve racking pounding on $650 advanced adapter parts, especially when you're not sure you got the process right to begin with. Thanks again.
Thanks for this and all your videos. I could not do this build without them, but a question for this one. when you say two inches to the frame is that from the center of the tail end? or further up the shaft.
Doesn't the TC gasket go under the adapter bearing retainer (the part you used a wood block to hammer in TC)? That means you need to first put on the gasket then install the bearing retainer which has a small lip that sets on top of the gasket.
Honestly, it has been a while. The o ring seals the adapter to the transfer case and the gasket slipped over the bearing adapter. I did not install that gasket in the video since the transmission was not built at the time.
Thanks but I think that is a looonnngg shot. We are just doing what we enjoy and taking you all along for the ride. Hopefully teaching folks a trick or two along the way. We appreciate you watching.
Nice work, I took the easy way out and just bought the AOD crossmember from Tom's, Very nice piece. It has the correct offset built in to allow for the longer transmission so you can still use the original mounting holes on the frame.
Hello Jason and Jonie, Again love everything you all do. I have asked a couple questions over the past 6 months because my bronco journey is very close to what your doing. I am now at the part i am rebuilding engine and figuring out transmission. I have the manual three and 302 and dana 20 right now. I want to switch to an over drive automatic. To me the AOD like you have is perfect. Now here is my questions. In this video you are putting the advance adaptor on but did you have to have the shaft from the AOD replaced or cut also so it would work with the Dana? What is the best year of the AOD to put on a 302 from early 80's and does it have to be a 4x4? Last one i promise so the AOD doesnt have any electronics is that correct but needs a cooler? I know a ton over videos and forums are out there on this stuff but cant really find any from engine to dana installs. Thanks a ton for all your help and videos.
Great video guys! I watched a lot of videos about this swap because I'm going with the 4r70w. This is the fist one that I've seen that bushing mod. I'm definitely using that one for my swap. That crossmember modification was spot on also.
Great video! I am working on an AOD swap for my 71 Bronco. Quick question.... did you do a body lift to make the install easier? Is it needed, and if so how much? Thanks and keep the great videos coming!
Thank you for the video it saved my butt. Those little bearings fell out on disassemble and gave me a heart attack.
Thanks for watching! I am glad it was helpful.

Thanks Tim. I appreciate that. It really stressed me out once I realized what I had done. Thanks for watching and tell your friends about our channel.

Thanks David! I will have to rewatch the video and see. Honestly I forgot. I will get back to you asap.
@@JasonJonieBuilds Thanks for the help.

You all need to be on tv!

Thanks. I saw those and figured that 200 bucks could be spent somewhere else. Toms part does look nice though. We appreciate you watching.
Love the videos . I have the same setup as you can you please share starter part number you used. Thanks
Thanks for watching! I am sorry I don't have the part number for the starter. It was one that I had for it already.

Thanks! I don't want it to look modified. I hope we sand blast this weekend and start making some of this stuff look nice. Thanks again for watching.

Thanks Aaron! I used a 3/4" body lift. I hear some folks go at least 1". So far there have not been any interferences. Thanks for watching!
