This was originally played by Jimmy Page when he was in the Yardbirds prior to forming Led Zeppelin. The Yardbirds where essential to Led Zeppelin having had Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton as Lead Guitarists.
Hear and see the evolution: 1970 Royal Albert Hall (about 15 min), 1973 MSG (about 30 min.), 1975 Earls Court (about 35 min.) Inspiring, improvising, creative, challenging!!!! Go for the ride!!!!!
@@AnxietyActoralso shows Page playing his guitar with a violin bow. The best version is the 30 minute one at MSG, but it’s not available on UA-cam anymore, it is available in their movie The Song Remains The Same. Still would love to see you react to the live at Earls Court’s May 25,1975 version of In My Time Of Dying. Dazed & Confused was on their debut album recorded in October 1968.

I can’t remember, if they let him try it with theirs or not. Page wasn’t the first to use one, another musician used one, but used it like he was sawing wood. Page perfected using it, & could get some great sounds out of it.

If you watch this live..1970…Royal Albert Hall concert version…you can see JPJ holding it all down on the bass. Impressive as hell.
He was really underrated as a musician, this man composed a lot of their hits. Great man.

@@AnxietyActoraccording to Page a violin bow.
Bonham’s drumming is crazy on this song too, it showcases each of them.
There are a lot of people saying it was a violin bow, look at the size of it, definitely a cello bow.
