The WORST RC No Prep Crash!! | RC No Prep Drag Racing
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 січ 2021
- I finally found a good possible location to run my No Prep Drag Car to 132ft. I mostly run a scale 1/8th mile, or 66ft, cause the location near my house doesn't have enough room to run 132ft. But this location is a very big parking lot and should be perfect for running and maybe holding events in the future if other people in my area are interested... or so I thought.
On the day I headed out to the new spot, I forgot the transmitter to connect to the DTS-1 so I was only able to make test passes to try out the spot and wasn't able to get any times or speeds. After 2 passes though, I realized I may need to rethink this spot or move to another area of the parking lot. On the second pass, I crashed harder than I've ever crashed before, and I think I crash a lot! It was one of the worst crashes I've personally seen in RC No Prep Drag Racing. I don't know if the video truly does it justice, but it hit HARD. The damage is bad but its fixable. I'll be back out soon to see what speeds and times I can get out of my No Prep Car!!

Rule #1, Curbs are magnets for any RC car.
Ain't that the truth 😂😂
@@FullThrottleRC And Rule #2 if Curbs aren't magnets for your RC Car, See rule # 1 :)
Beautiful car
Thank You
Dude! Thanks for the video. I love seeing the ins and outs of no prep the way you show it. Your videos are great!
Thank you so much!!
what did you do to lock your diff/? on this nova
@@timharper8004 JB weld inside the diff.
@@FullThrottleRC is it a 3 gear or 4 gear I’m just trying to get some tips starting to build one but mine isa t 5m
@@FullThrottleRC is it a ball diff or gear
I picked up a GNSS Performance Analyzer today.
I've been looking at picking one of those up too so I don't need to bring the timing system out all the time.
So something to consider. Its always good to have 1 easy to break part such as that. Instead of breaking your A arms or dog bones. You have an easy part you can break and 3d print a number if them in case you have an accident like this.
That's something I've thought about and other people have mentioned for sure. I could've been smarter and printed a few of them incase they brake but it's frustrating when your day gets cut short because of a 3d printed part breaking.
At least it’s only like 1000$ instead of 350,000$
You're definitely right, I don't have $1000 in the car but its for sure a lot cheaper to fix than a full size car.
Rc life, always breaking shit!
Half the fun is fixing them!
Props for showing a fail along with the wins. Peace, bro!
I want to show everything I go through with this car and learning it to hopefully help out others as well. Thanks!
Dang tough luck i was so exciting to see her making full passes like we do up here in tulsa get her fixed and we will be watching for more drag racing videos 👊
I'll be back out soon!
Jason, I'm in Bville. When where what time do you all race or do testing and turning?
Our practice starts next Saturday if you want to join the group 918 outkast outlaws on Facebook everything we do is there
There's only 2 types or RC cars. Those that have hit curbs and those that are going to hit them.
🤣🤣🤣
Had the same thing happen to me on my third run with mine first two went well I thought any ways launcher nice and straight and hard and then the third pass about half way I think my right rear tire blew out cuz it to a hard immediate right. And hit the curb and went airborne. Got luck and need up just breaking the body mount on the front and that tire just shredded the outside side wall and left all of the bead in the rim.
Wow!! My crash was definitely more of just a poor surface issue that anything with the tires. Still ended pretty bad none the less.
@@FullThrottleRC ya after seeing this video I think I'm going to take my camera next time 😂 Cuz for just a quick test session to see how it would launch and if it was going to go straight, it ended pretty quickly. That's been the killer for the other guys I'm our group everyone keeps breaking there stuff. So we have yet to have a official race yet this summer 😄
Ouch!!! That hurts. Sorry to see that happen.
It definitely hurt to see it hit!
@3:27 to be honest man I would keep your shock tower extension exactly the same. All that energy would have broken alot more stuff if your custom piece didn't snap like it did. I'm curious if you got away with only that breaking? Awesome vid man and I love the chassis and body setup, it looks real good.
Thanks!! Yep, that's really all that broke. I did break one of the ball studs like I mentioned in the video but that was it. 👍
I'm subscribed!
Now you have a spot to setup a race.
That's what I'm hoping!
Oh man that sucks! At least B5M parts are somewhat still avalable (mostly). And you can print up another shock mount. BTW, What battery strap/brace are you running?? I like the idea of a forward mounted battery in my B5M no prep project. Can't wait to see your next vid!
Yea and luckily it wasn't much of the actual B5M parts that broke. The battery strap is something I designed and 3d printed. I have a video on it on the channel you can check out!
Where did you get the Yenko decals? Body looks nice till the crash 💥sorry for that!
No decals. It's all paint.
Rough day out there! Always a struggle finding traction. Btw, what lock rings you using out back?
It was rough but the car will be back soon. I designed and 3d printed the beadlock rings
First, not laughing. Yes, it's part of the "learning curve" (something I'm just about to start, as my car is almost finished being built). Second, having done the "crash & break" in other vehicles, I completely understand.
Its been a learning curve but its been a lot of fun too!
It's all good. I have gone out and forgot the transmitter.
Wanting a new transmitter but I'm stuck between the ix12 and nx10 spektrums which would you get? Also seen alot of reviews on radiomaster tx16
I have no experience with any of them to really give you an opinion on them. I run a Graupner X8E but the spektrum stuff seems to always be nice.
Damm bro tough break but it looked fast up to the crash
It did seem to be running well up to that point. I got it fixed now but it still needs to be faster.
Damn! That car is beautiful! Liking your videos! Just subscribed 👍
Thank you!!
That sucks brother.
Just a question? You in southern louisiana.. that accent has some breaux bridge behind it from how it sounds
South Louisiana yes, not Breaux Bridge
Do you know of any races in Fresno ca
Sorry I don't. I'm from South Louisiana and can't find any races here.
Can someone pls explain to me what does no prep drag means I only do bashing so that’s all Ik
In short, No Prep drag racing means the surface is not prepped. So the concrete or asphalt that the cars are running on does not have any rubber or traction compound applied to it. Most of the time its just blown off or swept to remove rocks.
@@FullThrottleRC ohh ok thanks never quite understand it bc in my areas we don’t have any hobbies shops the closest one it like hour away and it’s always just me and my friend together plus we are the only ones and one other guy that have rc’s in my neighborhood so we don’t see any events for rc’s often in our area
did you 3d print your beadlock ring? also did you make the the covering on the wheelie bar wheels?
Yep, they're both 3d printed
@@FullThrottleRC could i buy a set of beadlock rings and wheelie bar wheels?
@@carter5142 I'm planning on selling the beadlock rings but haven't had time to get that up and running yet.
@@FullThrottleRC i will definitely be on that list asap!
Just had to explain to someone that UA-cam does not send you a video crew because you decided to make a video. Amazing how many people still think these vids are uploaded with no post production just sound track and editing all done with a Go Pro. Trying to make someone realize that the builder of the model car also shoots and edits the video and does the titles and sound dubbing etc.
It is a process and its very rewarding when people like you realize it and appreciate the work that goes into making these videos. Not everyone will understand it but when someone does, its awesome. Thank You!
It’s a ton of work! A few minutes of video can take a few days to put together into a finished piece.
Are you from Louisiana?
Yep!
Where’s the crash, no crash video
At around 2:22, car smashes into the curb, can't miss it.
That sucks I've done that before and broke a wheel.
Ouch, happy I never broke a wheel too
@@FullThrottleRC that's good
Make the shock tower from carbon u no u can do it bro 👍👌🏻👊🏼🏎
I've thought about it but I think I'd have to make a few pieces and glue them together to add some thickness. I don't even think 3mm carbon is strong enough to take that hit.
@@FullThrottleRC I stick 2 bit of 3mm together and then add or take away I’ve done my towers on my typhon and my hyper held up great mate great work tho mate
CARBON FIBER IS SHIT...THE OLD SCKOOL FIBERGLASS WAS STRONGER
I've had experience with both. Fiberglass is very useful and they are similar but in certain situations, carbon fiber is stronger and lighter.
I’m all for RC and love it. It’s been a big part of my life and now my sons. But No prep RC guys watch WAAY to much Street outlaws TV.
Not exactly sure what your comment is supposed to mean. I do know the idea of RC No Prep racing came to be with the show as a big inspiration, but I know personally, I haven't watched the show since the second season. People like racing and its a great way to be competitive.
Someone been watching the facebook no prep drama group 😂
I don't know why you would run a car towards a bottle neck of solid obstacles he could just run at the opposit way and give yourself some shut down room.
I have an X01 which is no drag car but I never run it towards any constricting obstacles,I'm always running away from obstacles because it scares the shit out of me how fast it goes!
I never pointed the camera the opposite direction but the parking lot ended about 5 feet behind where my starting like was. There was another concrete barrier there too. I didn't really like the idea of running towards the curbs but thought I'd give it a shot
@@FullThrottleRC oh, I had no idea what was the other direction.
Maybe you could stop at the some place where you could buy those floating water noodles and lay those at the base of the curb.
You really lucked out that the car didn't end up going head on into the curb, it could have destroyed the whole car!!!
(To bad you couldn't rig up a parachute, not only would it be truly practical for what you're doing....... it would look really bitch'n too.)
Super cool looking car by the way!👍
He who back out...shall smack the curb...and work on car to race another day..next time..30 foot warm tires up and 132 feet is to far..when your not locked in to the box with hook.
The surface I was running on was definitely not the best. I made a few warm up passes and every time, the car would slide when I let off the throttle. I'm thinking the concrete was too smooth, liked almost polished.
Honestly you can totally tell why it drifted to the right and why you don't let your tires wear down that low period the right tire was about 1/4 inch shorter smh
Not quiet sure what you're talking about with the tire being shorter. The car was drifting around because of the surface. The concrete was too smooth, almost polished, so the car had no traction. I should've recognized that right away and not even tried to run there.
hate to see you wreck the car but
the car was looking good
It hurt to see the damage for sure but it was looking promising. Excited to get back out for more!!
3d print with Nylon It will be stronger
Nylon is a material I've been looking into printing with. I need to get some in
Dude... Learn to take soft hits at 1st on a new road. Never go full wood on un-tested surfaces 😂🤣
I actually did make a few soft passes to make sure the car was going straight before I turned on the camera. Sometimes I just have bad luck lol
Good. I wait for love from you 💝💖
put reactions on the car. itll work 10 times better then those DE racing tires.
I've tried reactions before, didn't care for them on this car. They are on my custom front engine dragster now.
@@FullThrottleRC its something in the setup then. the fastest guys like mark vyne and james gallant etc are all going 1.9s on reactions well into the 70s
@@archangel2704 Different setups work differently in different conditions. Can't really take a tire off one car and expect it to work exactly the same on another.
@@FullThrottleRC no but literally everyone making really fast passes are on reactions. with very few on the smaller DE tires.
@@archangel2704 I know many guys putting down 2.1 passes with small tires, I'm one of them lol also most running reactions are using sauce
