  • Well I've been bitten by the drag racing bug again. I wanted to build another drag car but didn't want to do a Traxxas Slash based build. I wanted something a little more unique, a challenge. I saw a post on Instagram of a Losi 22 buggy turned drag car and it made me start thinking of other chassis that I could build off of. I ran across a Team Associated B5M and just couldn't pass it up! I'm excited to work on this build and get it out to make some passes soon. I hope you enjoy and follow along with me!

    Should've just used the stadium truck shock towers that already has the body post, or use a stadium truck roller kit would've been ideal for it, rear motor.

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  4 роки тому +1

      Ideally, yes. I bought the B5M on Ebay though, as a complete car minus the transmitter. It was a deal I couldn't pass up, so I had to swap out the chassis and a few other components. While the stadium truck shock towers would've been better, that was one place that I could save money by just keeping the buggy towers.

    FINALLY! Someone else built a mid-motor! I'm running the same setup (started with an SC5M and put buggy arms and shock towers on it). To lower the front of the body, I used the truck mount like you did, but I trimmed it more and flipped it upside down. It worked great, and you can drop the front of the body without squashing the shocks all the way down. I think the AE chassis is a better platform than a Slash, and the mid-motor setup can handle more power. I am currently undefeated in Eastern Oregon running a Tekin RSX esc and a Trinity Monster Horsepower 3.5t motor...

    • @FullThrottleRC

      On the SC5M you'd have to replace the control arms as well as the driveshafts, while on the B5M you'd have to replace the main chassis plate. Whatever you have parts for and you think is easier, either way will work.

Do you know of an aftermarket one I could get? I'm a little concerned with parts availability since I haven't been able to find the chassis, will this be a problem?
