Is there a guide book for the hexatrek? How do you know where the bivakzones are?
I guess not all days can be interesting!
After 1500km you sure deserve a good bed! Great zero hanging out by yourself!
    All the best!
    Kaat

I use the Hexatrek app-- it shows the no bivouac zones. There also also signs if it's a national park that have the bivouac rules. I'm also posting a lot more detailed information on my patreon if you'd like to check it out! www.patreon.com/Laurenexplores

Sometimes in a dry creek/river bed, you can dig into a low spot and find water. Just a backup idea to keep in mind...

I felt similarly in New Jersey and New York on the AT. I'm actually not sure it got over 90F but with the humidity and absolute lack of a breeze it was ROUGH. When the rocks are sweating by 9:30am you know its hot and humid. Still though, very few places I would have rather been at the time! I'm sure you felt the same.

Absolutely. This was only the very beginning of a brutal heat wave that was over 100 for a week. But I still wouldn’t trade it!

Lauren: Eat as much ice cream as will fit in your body...
Me: Isn't that how everyone eats ice cream?
Did you say that mouthwashy stuff was a "native drink"? LMAO Rings so true, for some reason... Also, it's always good to see you stop to do some touristy stuff.

Unfortunately on this app spéciale not even the green/red zone is accurate. The data they used is at least 10 years old. Even before the alps you guess you are in the green but there are signs everywhere zone de la protection bla bla bla where we don't want to sleep as we don't like getting waken up by the gendarmerie.
In towns google/gaia is your friend as the app has just one store but on the ground there are many. And congrats on getting old. Time to buy a house, car, dog and so on.
