After watching the two of tasting different types of nato, well I've never tried it but it's on my list of foods to taste. This is my second video of yours, and you both express how the food tastes so well. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
I've tried natto, and being Western, I liked the flavor but had some trouble with the slime. Mixing it with some rice helps, but it's still really slimy. The flavor is nice, though. I've eaten it with furikake, mustard, green onion, bonito flakes, bacon, cheese, but not at the same time, lol. The cheese kind of cuts the sliminess a bit. The bacon & cheese goes well with the natto. I don't know if anyone else has had it with bacon and/or cheese, and maybe that's considered disgusting, but I liked it. That with rice made for a filling breakfast. :)
I would love to try them just because of the looks of nirvana on your faces. 😄 especially Satochi. 😍 but I have a serious tactile issue with slimey foods. 😨
I know it looks gross to most non japanese people but to me it looks sooo good. I could watch you mixing natto and making it slimier and slimier for hours!
I confess I am a spicy food addict and I love Natto with Thai dry toasted chilli powder! The two fragrances go together so well with just a little bit of soy sauce.
Mmmmmmm! My mouth is watering! I wish I could try all those creative flavors. I think I will experiment more with my homemade natto making. Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!
I've tried a lot of different foods but I've never been able to build up the courage to try natto. I do not doubt that it taste good it's just a visual thing. I know that's terrible. But I really appreciate you guys sharing that with us, I never knew it came in so many varieties.
Cuppy Duppy I made my husband try natto when we went home to Okinawa and he said he couldn't get past the slimey-ness. The texture for him was the problem. He said the taste wasn't so bad (I think he was just trying to impress my family though lol) You should try it! I grew up with it so I can't say much but why not? At least once! :)
I'm a huge huge fan of natto and I eat at least a pack everyday! But I didn't know there were so many different types of natto until now! I would love to try some of the rare types of natto! I wish more people from outside of Japan would get their hands more often on natto, despite all of the negative images that most of they have! This tiny little natto offers so many health benefits than you can never expect! Ps: it's one of the secret food contributing to Japanese's long life expectancy! ✨
I am so excited! I was waiting for this video! Everything looks amazing. I want to try it all. I especially want to try the tofu...I absolutely love tofu, and that looks scrumptious. I am still learning to enjoy natto, but I want to try all these different kinds. They look so great! Thank you for sharing this with us. I look forward to tonight's livestream! :-)
Definitely going to try that cheese one when I'm in Japan! I had natto years ago and didn't hate it, but this week I actually made it at home. I found some with a black vinegar and ume sauce and oh my gosh it was DELICIOUS. Can't wait to get some more!
Maybe for some people it's a down side, but for me, who likes watching slime videos and always has the thought "man I wish I could eat that without dying" natto scratched that sort of itch while also being tasty.
1st time i tried natto, i thought i didn't like it.. and b4 i knew it.. i started to miss it.. (i ate natto for almost 2 yrs b4 a friend recommended i try it with wasabi.. and boy does it go well with wasabi!..)
Loving the glasses brother!! How fun!!! I absolutely love natto!! The green natto looked so interesting, as did the cheese and tomato basil, but that tofu! Oh my goodness! It looked amazing and delicious! All I can say is, you're both very patient eating natto with ohashi and toothpicks. For me, it would be like "forget that! Bring on the spoon!!" 😋😋
Thank you for sharing the different varieties! Natto is high in K2 vitamin, which helps with anti-aging and prevention of osteoporosis. I am glad to see there are tasty options!
Oh my gosh I love these guys ❤️💕🌷 you guys are so cute and awesome explaining your experience. Thank you for explaining the different variations of Natto with us. Yay 😊
I love this episode 🤗. I bought one natto, but stil haven’t tried it! First time found it locally from a Japanese shop. I can’t wait to try it, thnx so much for this video👍
Interesting to see different type and flavor of natto! I’m just starting to try to eat Natto. It’s hard to eat initially due to strong smell and taste. There only soy sauce and mustard flavor that is available in my local Asian grocery. So I tried to come up with several recipes to incorporate Natto to my diet. now It’s tasty and I love it.
what a coencidence! I've just buy, for the first time, a pack of natto from my favorite japanese shop here in Belgium and I was a little bite afraid to give it a try. But your lovely video makes me want to try. Thank you guys 😊
Hey guys! I am soooooooooo jealous that you get to eat so much amazing Natto!!!! It's so hard to get good Natto in Vienna/Austria and I love it so very much! My mouth was watering!!!!! I wish I could eat all the yummy Natto too! 💖😍💕
OMG, that tofu looks amazing! Ooh, I'd love to try all those varieties of natto, I used to have a life-long aversion to natto, but I love it now thanks to you. Have a great weekend.
Omg my mouth is water!! Natto is the only main source of protein I eat in a day. Hated at first now I live for Natto. I enjoyed eating it more than meat.
I already like the normal packed natto from the store very much. I cannot imagine how good these specialities taste like! Interesting! I wish natto would become a normal food in many countries, it is so healthy and super good for the environment as well! I would love to be able to purchase all these variations of it for a reasonable price at home.
Now im convinced that all of the natto eating challenge videos on youtube which give the impression that its gross, are very wrong. Natto looks very yummy :)
Had Natto a while back, loved it, but had NO idea it was supposed to be stirred before eating! Thank you for clearing that up. Will try again the right way :-)
I'd like to try natto sometime. The area I live (small town in the northwest US) in is utterly devoid of any ethnic food markets/stores. I will have to remember next time I visit my brother in San Fran to go to the asian market and try to find some.
Hi Satoshi! Hi Shinichi! I just had my first taste of natto thanks to you (and emmymadeinjapan). I thought it was interesting. The texture is definitely something I’m not used to, but it wasn’t off putting... just different. The aroma and flavor was savory, similar to a Parmesan or Gouda cheese. I had it with the seasoning packet, rice, green onion, and sriracha. I had a side of kimchi for added tang and crunch. Delicious! 😋 Not bad for my first try!
I just tried Natto not to long ago, a few days ago, and I made a video of me and my grandpa trying it, I liked it more than him lol. I found that its okay by itself but I prefer it over rice with the sauce it comes with, soy sauce, and some wasabi.
I love natto - fellow expats think I'm weird! I'd miss it a lot if I couldn't live Japan. I'm feeling really inspired by this video to try more natto products.
I would give the midori natto a try. with it Maybe i'll forget my first experience (bad one ) with natto xD Also the cheese and basil tomato one looked amazing. A usual, awesome vid guys! Take care
Libni Acevedo thank you, I'm just starting out on making soy products, experimenting daily, it's a new lease of life, after being sluggishly overweight I came to pick upon the blood type diet and began to implement it which after a few weeks and half way through Ramadan has brought me here, Muhammed peace be upon him said to "seek knowledge even should it necessitate going to China", I'm here in Nottingham UK feeling on top of the world as though my dining room sits on top of a mountain and the kitchen taps are approached as though going to a holy fountain, in other words consciousness is elevated over and above worldly stuff and matter as I clear and plough through, 'fen shui style' all the heaps of clutter...every day is on a new creation and this page, this day, is a new beginning to a new life of being consciously aware of being 'we are what we eat' and how our mind, body and spirit appreciate the best foods to help us grow mentally, spiritually and physically, thank you for your informative and motivating presentation, all the best and Peace be upon you.
I bought natto that came with sauce and some sort of yellow sauce today to try it once again. I'm trying to understand why Japanese people love natto. I don't mind the fermented smell. I did when i first tried it years ago. However, i cannot understand why people love the taste. I cannot taste anything. It tastes like regular black-eyed pea if you plug your nose. I think if i add more soysauce and make it saltier, it woukd taste better. My friend likes rice, natto, and raw egg all mixed up for breakfast. Very very slimy. I cannot get used to the slimy texture.
Ohh I'm jealous I have to confess,I love Natto but its so rare and expensive hereX3 If someone never tried Natto,I had to think about yeast (those fresh cubes of yeast for baking) the first time I tried, it's really different to everything I had before and it was just a so-so experience the first time. But as more I tried I got addicted and now I'd love to have it every morning too X3 got instant xcited as I saw the titlenof this video, thank you so much for showing all the different kinds, never thought that so many and also morenexist, learned something about my nr.1 toping :D greetings from Switzerland
I loooove natto. I wish it wasn't so expensive where I am. :( It's so ridiculously expensive at 2.79 for 3-pack! :( I have to wait until they go on sale to about 1.69...but still can't beat the price in Japan!
i like natto with extra extra mustard. shinichi looks nice here with specs. think its my first sight of him wearing specs. has he appeared in other vids with them?
I had no idea these were called natto. My grandma used to give me these with rice, I always just called them "the weird, slimy but slightly tasty bean things." Also no idea there were so many different types. Now I gotta go to Japan
Americans (I am one too) might think these guys are nuts, digging on this awful-looking food, but I love the stuff. I could exist for a year with natto as my only protein source without feeling deprived at all.
I like trying new foods and love fermented food. So when I found natto in my Asian supermarket I was so happy. Didn't mind the texture or the smell but didn't care about the taste. For me it was tasteless even after adding mustard, soy sauce and green onions. Besides, the beans weren't soft and had a hard bite.
I remember eating delicious omurice with natto in Fujinomiya. The taste of natto was really good, but it was so overpowering that I couldn't finish the dish :/. Still I'd like to try some more in the future! I really love your videos guys! Lots of love
Another staple of this channel, natto. I also really want to try it. There is a company in the US, in Vermont, that makes natto. It is described as smelling and tasting like a strong aged cheese. Is this true? If so, as a cheese lover, this may be for me!
Black beans, in my option, is more easy for first Natto try, especially for brazilian taste. BB is very usual here. Guys, have it some variety in culture of microorganisms for each Natto, or always made with bacillus subtilis?
Eat to live or live to eat is the question. When it comes to Natto i eat to live..lol Because it so good for the health and very rich in vitamin K2 . The science on the benefits of K2 are starting to show that this is as valuable to take as is vitamin D-3. In a few more years many doctors will probably suggest taking K2 or eat Natto. Cheers.
I've never had natto before but I want to try it when I go to japan this october, how should I eat it for the first time? Which brand should I get and what should I put on it? ^-^
Kitty Cutie most of the natto a that you will see in the grocery stores or convenient stores are very very affordable here in Japan. Average of 100 yen or mostly lower comes with three packs. The ones you saw in the video are very rare, and in fact you don't see them often unless you go to the natto factory in Ibaraki. Despite its taste, texture, and smell, the most important part is it's very beneficial for our health :)
I'm staying in an airbnb so I can't have a natto in a hotel, I was going to buy some from the convenience store but what sort of things should I put on it?
Kitty Cutie every package comes with a small pack of soy sauce so pls do use and mix them well. I def recommend you to eat it as simple as possible for the first time. So you get to taste what exactly it tastes like :) and if u like it, you can create many natto recipes (just google the recipes)!
When you buy it at a convenient store, 7-11, Lawson etc..., pick up a couple onigiri (rice balls) and eat them with nato. Europeans like strong cheeses, Japanese like fermented soy beans. It is an acquired taste. Have fun!
My mom fed me natto since I was a little kid, but she hates the stuff herself LOL. I LOVED eating natto every day but hard to find good natto here in the mainland US. Hawaii was easier. Demo, gohan doko? I don't know if I could eat natto without rice.
I'd like to ask if the two of you know a good shop that sells japanese dishes and snacks and ships internationally. Sorry if this is a repeat question you've answered somewhere already, I'm still quite new to your content.
So Satoshi and Shinichi, I've got a question: I only have one packet of natto left and I dunno how else to eat it. I've tried it with the basics of shoyu, karashi, negi and katsuoboshi but I'm hoping for some creative ideas. What else do you guys eat natto with (besides on rice of course)?
After watching the two of tasting different types of nato, well I've never tried it but it's on my list of foods to taste. This is my second video of yours, and you both express how the food tastes so well. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.

That with rice made for a filling breakfast. :)
Xoch what could you compare the flavour to?
Giggles what does it taste like?
rice kinda makes it worse-
imagine ruining perfectly healthy meal with a carcinogenic belly of a corpse
I would love to try them just because of the looks of nirvana on your faces. 😄 especially Satochi. 😍 but I have a serious tactile issue with slimey foods. 😨
I know it looks gross to most non japanese people but to me it looks sooo good. I could watch you mixing natto and making it slimier and slimier for hours!
I confess I am a spicy food addict and I love Natto with Thai dry toasted chilli powder! The two fragrances go together so well with just a little bit of soy sauce.
It is a really nice spicy umame flavour. I take it with rice or plain instant noodles with a bit of either wakame or roasted nori seaweed.
i love it with rice, for peoples who live in Paris you can find it at kioko or ace market 1er arrondissement or in 13eme at exo store,it's delicious
Mmmmmmm! My mouth is watering! I wish I could try all those creative flavors. I think I will experiment more with my homemade natto making. Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!
Wow you're amazing that you make it homemade!
+TabiEats Thanks! It's not hard to do, but hard to do WELL, lol
I've tried a lot of different foods but I've never been able to build up the courage to try natto. I do not doubt that it taste good it's just a visual thing. I know that's terrible. But I really appreciate you guys sharing that with us, I never knew it came in so many varieties.

Wow that's good to know. Thanks a million. All the way from Republic of Ireland fililipino. Happy Christmas
I’d love to try natto from this factory. Thanks for informing us on their products.
I am so excited! I was waiting for this video! Everything looks amazing. I want to try it all. I especially want to try the tofu...I absolutely love tofu, and that looks scrumptious. I love natto
This video is FASCINATING! Can't wait for part 2.
Maybe for some people it's a down side, but for me, who likes watching slime videos and always has the thought "man I wish I could eat that without dying" natto scratched that sort of itch while also being tasty.
I love the way the Japanese pack food (nice packaging!) or also style them in small portions on plates.
1st time i tried natto, i thought i didn't like it.. and b4 i knew it.. i started to miss it.. (i ate natto for almost 2 yrs b4 a friend recommended i try it with wasabi.. and boy does it go well with wasabi!..)
i luv adding coconut aminos with garlic, sesame seed, sea salt n onions..yummm luv natto
I love the chopsticks motion you use to get rid of the strings around your mouth. It looks so cute
This was a wonderful review of different versions of natto!

8:28 Best part when Satochi just starts clapping XD
Beautiful packaging. Never had natto and may never, but can appreciate the design :)

i decided to purchase natto once, and to my surprise its not as scary as some people make it out to be. it is actually quite tasty!
what a coencidence! I've just buy, for the first time, a pack of natto from my favorite japanese shop here in Belgium and I was a little bite afraid to give it a try. But your lovely video makes me want to try. Thank you guys 😊
I love your vlogs, expecially because of your chemistry. I am trying to learn more about Japanese food and your videos help a lot :) Thank you!
Hey guys! I am soooooooooo jealous that you get to eat so much amazing Natto!!!! It's so hard to get good Natto in Vienna/Austria and I love it so very much! My mouth was watering!!!!! I wish I could eat all the yummy Natto too! 💖😍💕

Thanks for spending the time and money to do this :D
OMG, that tofu looks amazing! Ooh, I'd love to try all those varieties of natto, I used to have a life-long aversion to natto, but I love it now thanks to you. Have a great weekend.
I'm so happy we could do that for you Yoshiko! Enjoy your weekend as well.
こんなにたくさん種類があるんですね!!味もそれぞれ違うんですね😋
枝豆の納豆、豆腐、チーズの気になりました!
I’m definitely intrigued now!
My mouth is watering
Omg my mouth is water!! Natto is the only main source of protein I eat in a day. Hated at first now I live for Natto. I enjoyed eating it more than meat.
I can’t wait to make my own Natto and eat it with matsutake cooked crispy using organic unrefined coconut oil.
I love Japanese foods. I want to try all the staples of Japan.
I always hungry when I watching you guys eating 😁 is my favorite natto .
“I’ve never felt so happy eating natto” awww 😍😍😍
I already like the normal packed natto from the store very much. I cannot imagine how good these specialities taste like! Interesting! Ooooh this looks so good
It looks so good!
I would like to try natto. It all looked so good!
Now im convinced that all of the natto eating challenge videos on youtube which give the impression that its gross, are very wrong. Natto looks very yummy :)
it can be an aquired taste. I like the taste but the texture is an issue. Definitely worth a try though
Had Natto a while back, loved it, but had NO idea it was supposed to be stirred before eating! Thank you for clearing that up. Will try again the right way :-)
"Nat-tonly that"
Unintentional pun?
I'd like to try natto sometime. The area I live (small town in the northwest US) in is utterly devoid of any ethnic food markets/stores. I will have to remember next time I visit my brother in San Fran to go to the asian market and try to find some.
I always eat natto with Wasabi
You so lonely on natto videos lol
Me too
You are everywhere
Okay. I’ll try it! I usually put soy sauce in it and eat with avocado.
love your video!!!
Just tried natto...LOVE :)

They all look so good! The cheese one has me wondering what it would taste like to grate some manchego cheese on top.
I tried natto for the first time and I liked it. I will buy it again. How hard is it to make?
I promise to not knock it before I try it... you guys made it seem pretty tasty
I would love to be able to have this delivered in the US
Good work guys, natto it is for few ones
Interesting, i thought that the boat shape was in imitation of the traditional straw pouch that natto was sold in back in times past.
love natto
love this one! and i like when you wear your glasses too :)

Oh I love natto, love to taste it with buckwheat
The tofu one, maybe. The others, I don't think so for me. Enjoyed watching you eat them tho 😋
I think what is puttibg people off about natto is the smell and slimy texture. One of these days, I will be brave enough to try it!
Shinichi, I love your glasses and Satochi I love your shirt!
i like natto with extra extra mustard. shinichi looks nice here with specs. think its my first sight of him wearing specs. has he appeared in other vids with them?
I had no idea these were called natto. My grandma used to give me these with rice, I always just called them "the weird, slimy but slightly tasty bean things." Also no idea there were so many different types. Now I gotta go to Japan

Americans (I am one too) might think these guys are nuts, digging on this awful-looking food, but I love the stuff. I could exist for a year with natto as my only protein source without feeling deprived at all.

Black beans, in my option, is more easy for first Natto try, especially for brazilian taste. BB is very usual here.
Guys, have it some variety in culture of microorganisms for each Natto, or always made with bacillus subtilis?
I've had this. Love it. The thing is that it's visually disturbing, lol. Seems like it could act as a prop in a horror movie.
i need to try natto
I was thinking the same thing. I cant wait to try it.@Laila Baloch

I would not want to eat any natto made in the US anyway because all soybeans grown in the US are GMO. :-(
I'm Chinese but I love Japanese culture, never tried natto ;-;
Omg such a good mom ;_;
NATTO!!!! ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
I'd like to ask if the two of you know a good shop that sells japanese dishes and snacks and ships internationally. Sorry if this is a repeat question you've answered somewhere already, I'm still quite new to your content.
Can you please list the products you are trying so that we can find them at the store, please?

So Satoshi and Shinichi, I've got a question: I only have one packet of natto left and I dunno how else to eat it. I've tried it with the basics of shoyu, karashi, negi and katsuoboshi but I'm hoping for some creative ideas. What else do you guys eat natto with (besides on rice of course)?
+Emaline L. We have a recipe on natto spaghetti. That’s a great way to eat natto!
