I've tried natto, and being Western, I liked the flavor but had some trouble with the slime. Mixing it with some rice helps, but it's still really slimy. The flavor is nice, though. I've eaten it with furikake, mustard, green onion, bonito flakes, bacon, cheese, but not at the same time, lol. The cheese kind of cuts the sliminess a bit. The bacon & cheese goes well with the natto. I don't know if anyone else has had it with bacon and/or cheese, and maybe that's considered disgusting, but I liked it. That with rice made for a filling breakfast. :)
After watching the two of tasting different types of nato, well I've never tried it but it's on my list of foods to taste. This is my second video of yours, and you both express how the food tastes so well. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
I'm a huge huge fan of natto and I eat at least a pack everyday! But I didn't know there were so many different types of natto until now! I would love to try some of the rare types of natto! I wish more people from outside of Japan would get their hands more often on natto, despite all of the negative images that most of they have! This tiny little natto offers so many health benefits than you can never expect! Ps: it's one of the secret food contributing to Japanese's long life expectancy! ✨
I know it looks gross to most non japanese people but to me it looks sooo good. I could watch you mixing natto and making it slimier and slimier for hours!
Mmmmmmm! My mouth is watering! I wish I could try all those creative flavors. I think I will experiment more with my homemade natto making. Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!
I confess I am a spicy food addict and I love Natto with Thai dry toasted chilli powder! The two fragrances go together so well with just a little bit of soy sauce.
I would love to try them just because of the looks of nirvana on your faces. 😄 especially Satochi. 😍 but I have a serious tactile issue with slimey foods. 😨
I've tried a lot of different foods but I've never been able to build up the courage to try natto. I do not doubt that it taste good it's just a visual thing. I know that's terrible. But I really appreciate you guys sharing that with us, I never knew it came in so many varieties.
Cuppy Duppy I made my husband try natto when we went home to Okinawa and he said he couldn't get past the slimey-ness. The texture for him was the problem. He said the taste wasn't so bad (I think he was just trying to impress my family though lol) You should try it! I grew up with it so I can't say much but why not? At least once! :)
I am so excited! I was waiting for this video! Everything looks amazing. I want to try it all. I especially want to try the tofu...I absolutely love tofu, and that looks scrumptious. I am still learning to enjoy natto, but I want to try all these different kinds. They look so great! Thank you for sharing this with us. I look forward to tonight's livestream! :-)
Definitely going to try that cheese one when I'm in Japan! I had natto years ago and didn't hate it, but this week I actually made it at home. I found some with a black vinegar and ume sauce and oh my gosh it was DELICIOUS. Can't wait to get some more!
Oh my gosh I love these guys ❤️💕🌷 you guys are so cute and awesome explaining your experience. Thank you for explaining the different variations of Natto with us. Yay 😊
I love this episode 🤗. I bought one natto, but stil haven’t tried it! First time found it locally from a Japanese shop. I can’t wait to try it, thnx so much for this video👍
I miss japan everyday ❤️love Natto, soba, real sushi. Cooking miso tomorrow with some koji rice my friend brought me from japan. Love your page! Portugal greetings Xxx
1st time i tried natto, i thought i didn't like it.. and b4 i knew it.. i started to miss it.. (i ate natto for almost 2 yrs b4 a friend recommended i try it with wasabi.. and boy does it go well with wasabi!..)
Loving the glasses brother!! How fun!!! I absolutely love natto!! The green natto looked so interesting, as did the cheese and tomato basil, but that tofu! Oh my goodness! It looked amazing and delicious! All I can say is, you're both very patient eating natto with ohashi and toothpicks. For me, it would be like "forget that! Bring on the spoon!!" 😋😋
"Don't grow up, it's a trap." At first I couldn't see the whole poster since your left shoulder was blocking it, and I thought that it said "Don't throw up, it's a trap." LOL
what a coencidence! I've just buy, for the first time, a pack of natto from my favorite japanese shop here in Belgium and I was a little bite afraid to give it a try. But your lovely video makes me want to try. Thank you guys 😊
OMG, that tofu looks amazing! Ooh, I'd love to try all those varieties of natto, I used to have a life-long aversion to natto, but I love it now thanks to you. Have a great weekend.
You guys convinced me to try natto again. I tried it once and hated it, but that was also my first impression of umeboshi, and now it’s one of my favorite things in the world.
Maybe for some people it's a down side, but for me, who likes watching slime videos and always has the thought "man I wish I could eat that without dying" natto scratched that sort of itch while also being tasty.
I watch your channel on a regular base and love it I eat Natto that I purchase in the UK from an Asian store and would love to know the best condiments to try with it loved your review of all the different Natto you purchased I have never seen green Natto before looks very interesting thanks again
I've just managed to find frozen natto here in Paris and try it for the first time. Thanks guys. I really liked it, it's such a different taste for me.
I made great natto using Laura's organic soy beans (traditional smaller bean) and my INSTANT POT on the yogurt setting! One pot for soaking, cooking and fermenting! PERFECTION!
Thank you for sharing the different varieties! Natto is high in K2 vitamin, which helps with anti-aging and prevention of osteoporosis. I am glad to see there are tasty options!
I loooove Natto, and I looooove wine! I wanna try that Wind De Natto, just like wine & cheese. Perfect combination. Can we buy those in maybe department store in Tokyo? I don't think I would ever get to Ibaraki... or maybe online, to order beforehand when I visit Tokyo in the near future...?
Hi Satoshi! Hi Shinichi! I just had my first taste of natto thanks to you (and emmymadeinjapan). I thought it was interesting. The texture is definitely something I’m not used to, but it wasn’t off putting... just different. The aroma and flavor was savory, similar to a Parmesan or Gouda cheese. I had it with the seasoning packet, rice, green onion, and sriracha. I had a side of kimchi for added tang and crunch. Delicious! 😋 Not bad for my first try!
Hey guys! I am soooooooooo jealous that you get to eat so much amazing Natto!!!! It's so hard to get good Natto in Vienna/Austria and I love it so very much! My mouth was watering!!!!! I wish I could eat all the yummy Natto too! 💖😍💕
Ooooh, I'm so jealous you get to try out so many different kinds of Natto. Unfortunately we only get a small variety of frozen Natto here in Europe. I LOVE Natto and could eat it every day. Oddly enough I prefer it just on its own without any sauces or extras, I find it delicous. Watching you makes my mouth water. :D
I'm not enamored with natto, but I do find it to be pretty good. This video makes me crave some now. XD The Cheese and Tomato Basil varieties sound really good!
Natto consumption is quite a challenge even for me. As I grew up loving duck's blood soup, a traditional food from my ethnic background. My Dad (rip) was also a merchant seaman, so trying uniquely different foods and beverages was an adventure in itself. Frog legs, escargot, caviar; or more accurately the numerous varieties of fish roe available at a Japanese market, were always something special. Even what some may call bugs, Korean beondegi, (silkworm pupae, that oddly enough look like a popular brand of breakfast cereal) was tasty, straight out of the can. It was like eating (mulberry) leaves. Our next bug challenge would have been Thai non mai phai (bamboo caterpillar, when deep-fried, looks & tastes like french fries). Taste wise, none of these foods were too difficult. Smell wise, however, there is a Chinese liquor that comes to mind, namely baijiu, that did exhibit a foul aroma to many, yet it never bothered me. At my local shops at times there is some bemusement that I am purchasing such. Distilled from sorghum, yet other east Asian liquors are from rice, sweet potato, tapioca, and even peas. A healthy serving vegetables in everything. Try Korean sweet corn ice cream; carrot, broccoli, or mulberry candy, and of course red bean anything. But as far as natto goes, I am working on it. As Dad said, eat it because it's good for. Yogurt, bleu cheese, and buttermilk are other examples of fermented foods.
I already like the normal packed natto from the store very much. I cannot imagine how good these specialities taste like! Interesting! I wish natto would become a normal food in many countries, it is so healthy and super good for the environment as well! I would love to be able to purchase all these variations of it for a reasonable price at home.
Now im convinced that all of the natto eating challenge videos on youtube which give the impression that its gross, are very wrong. Natto looks very yummy :)
I was introduced to natto when I visited Kakegawa last year on a work trip.....I LOVED it!!! One of my coworkers on that accompanied us is from Tokyo, and she said that I was the first westerner she had ever worked with who not only agreed to try it, but also really liked it. :-) I looked at the Funanatto website to see if I could order it from the US, but I don't believe it's possible. Do you have any suggestions on where we can get good natto in the states?
Interesting to see different type and flavor of natto! I’m just starting to try to eat Natto. It’s hard to eat initially due to strong smell and taste. There only soy sauce and mustard flavor that is available in my local Asian grocery. So I tried to come up with several recipes to incorporate Natto to my diet. now It’s tasty and I love it.
Hi guys, love watching the variety of Funa nattos you bought at the factory. Can you buy their products at the super markets in Japan or only at that factory? I haven't tried nattos yet. First time I heard the word NATTO was from a friend who is into health food. Since them I've been curious about it. My next question is, can you get to the factory by train or bus since I don't drive? I also like to try the fermented tofu.
Omg my mouth is water!! Natto is the only main source of protein I eat in a day. Hated at first now I live for Natto. I enjoyed eating it more than meat.
I love natto - fellow expats think I'm weird! I'd miss it a lot if I couldn't live Japan. I'm feeling really inspired by this video to try more natto products.
I love natto
I absolutely love watching Satoshi's reactions to tasting foods he enjoys! His facial expressions are the best!!!!
I've tried natto, and being Western, I liked the flavor but had some trouble with the slime. Mixing it with some rice helps, but it's still really slimy. The flavor is nice, though. Xoch what could you compare the flavour to?
Giggles what does it taste like?
rice kinda makes it worse-
imagine ruining perfectly healthy meal with a carcinogenic belly of a corpse
After watching the two of tasting different types of nato, well I've never tried it but it's on my list of foods to taste. This is my second video of yours, and you both express how the food tastes so well. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.

Wow that's good to know. Thanks a million. All the way from Republic of Ireland fililipino. Happy Christmas
Wow you're amazing that you make it homemade!
+TabiEats Thanks! It's not hard to do, but hard to do WELL, lol
I confess I am a spicy food addict and I love Natto with Thai dry toasted chilli powder! The two fragrances go together so well with just a little bit of soy sauce.
It is a really nice spicy umame flavour. I take it with rice or plain instant noodles with a bit of either wakame or roasted nori seaweed.
The tofu looks so rich!!! I'm completely jealous
Jhona Batil duioc ban

Okay. I’ll try it! I usually put soy sauce in it and eat with avocado.
The picture behind is so true. "Don't grow up, it's a trap"

Nicholas Warren without a doubt . I'll never grow up why would I want to.
This video is FASCINATING! Can't wait for part 2.

Just salivating watching this and I've already had dinner.
This was a wonderful review of different versions of natto!
I love the way the Japanese pack food (nice packaging!) or also style them in small portions on plates.
Definitely going to try that cheese one when I'm in Japan!
I had natto years ago and didn't hate it, but this week I actually made it at home. I found some with a black vinegar and ume sauce and oh my gosh it was DELICIOUS. Can't wait to get some more!

i decided to purchase natto once, and to my surprise its not as scary as some people make it out to be. it is actually quite tasty!
I've just managed to find frozen natto here in Paris and try it for the first time. Thanks guys. I really liked it, it's such a different taste for me.

Thank you for the natto tasting, cute megane- San tachi :)
Thank you for sharing the different varieties! Natto is high in K2 vitamin, which helps with anti-aging and prevention of osteoporosis. I am glad to see there are tasty options!
I love natto but it is hard to find where I live. Watching this makes me want some right now!
I would like to try natto. It all looked so good!

It looks hilarious but yummy at the same time; I feel like I'd enjoy playing with it more than eating it but I'd still enjoy the flavors 😂
“I’ve never felt so happy eating natto” awww 😍😍😍
Hi Satoshi! Hi Shinichi! I just had my first taste of natto thanks to you (and emmymadeinjapan). I thought it was interesting. First time I ate nutto, I vomited. After several tries, now I love it.
Omg my mouth is water!! Natto is the only main source of protein I eat in a day. Hated at first now I live for Natto. I enjoyed eating it more than meat.
I love Japanese foods. I want to try all the staples of Japan.
I love your glasses! When did you get them?
Oh my goodnesss what a great review! Japan should introduce these more vigorously internationally!!!
I love natto - fellow expats think I'm weird! I'd miss it a lot if I couldn't live Japan. I'm feeling really inspired by this video to try more natto products.
"Nat-tonly that"
Unintentional pun?
