@@Q_QQ_Q Here are the events leading up to the war between India and China in 1962. As you can see, India is not some innocent part that China wants to subjugate. Quite the contrary, it is the opposite that had happened.
1912: In the first full year of the Republic of China after the fall of the Qing dynasty, the United States National Geographic Magazine dedicated an issue to China. Accompanying the issue is a large and detailed fold-out map of China. The map clearly shows that Dirang Dzong (德讓宗) and Tawang (達旺) are within the boundary of China.
1943: British India likely calculated that dealing with the Lhasa government was easier than with the Republic of China's Nationalist Government in extracting land concessions and proposed to the United States to recognize Tibet's right to exchange diplomatic representatives with other powers. The Americans rejected this proposal:
"The Government of the United States has borne in mind the fact that the Chinese Government has long claimed suzerainty over Tibet and that the Chinese constitution lists Tibet among areas constituting the territory of the Republic of China. This Government has at no time raised a question regarding either of those claims."
1944: British India annexed Dirang Dzong (德讓宗), a Tibetan-settled area. Dzong means fort in Tibetan. The Chinese Government (the Nationalist Government of the Republic of China, seated in Kunming at the time because of World War II) protested to the British. So did the Tibetan Lhasa government.
1945: British India intruded into the tribal area of South Tibet.
February 1947: The Chinese Nationalist Government lodged a complaint with the Indian mission, which was by then newly established in China, on British India's border intrusions into Chinese territory.
August 1947: Britain left South Asia, and India was created as the successor polity to the departed British. India's creation means that a country that historically did not exist suddenly appears on China's doorstep.
October 1947: The Tibetan Lhasa Government dispatched a formal request to New Delhi, asking the newly independent Indian Government to withdraw all its predecessors' intrusions into the territory between the McMahon Line and the traditional border beneath the foothills and return a wide swath of territory from Ladakh to Assam, including Sikkim and the Darjeeling district.
1949: When the defeat of the Nationalist Government in China's civil war was imminent, the Republic of China's ambassador in New Delhi reminded the Indian Government that China did not recognize the McMahon Line and held the Simla Convention invalid.
October 1949: The CCP (Chinese Communist Party) took control of the mainland, and its civil war rival, the Republic of China, retreated to Taiwan.
December 1949: India recognized the People's Republic of China as the legitimate government, effectively cutting off the diplomatic channel the Republic of China used to deliver its protests to India.
February 1951: India annexed Tawang (達旺), the birthplace of the Sixth Dalai Lama and home to the four-hundred-year-old Tawang Monastery. The Tibetan authorities in Lhasa protested but were simply informed by the Indian political officer that India was taking over Tawang. The Tibetans protested again, accusing the Indian Government of 'seizing as its own what did not belong to it.' The Tibetans went on to ask New Delhi to withdraw its forces from Tawang immediately. The protests were ignored. The Republic of China (which had already retreated to Taiwan by then and had no diplomatic relation with India) also vehemently denounced India's territorial travesty. The CCP (Chinese Communist Party) made no noise.
1954: India published a new map showing South Tibet as part of India. The map also shows the two neighbors of China, Sikkim, and Bhutan, as part of India. Sikkim has been a tributary state of Tibet for hundreds of years. In the 18th century, Sikkim was briefly overrun by the Nepalese Gorkhas, causing the Sikkim king to flee to Tibet. The Gorkhas continued their push to the north to Shigatse (日喀則市) and sacked the Tashilhunpo Monastery (扎什倫布寺). The Dalai Lama and Panchen Lama requested help from the Qing court, and the Qianlong emperor dispatched two separate expeditions, expelled the Gorkhas, and restored Sikkim's sovereignty and independence. The Gorkhas were pacified and became a tributary state of the Qing dynasty. Sikkim remained unmolested for the rest of its history until it was annexed by India in 1975.
January 1959: The CCP (Chinese Communist Party) commented for the first time on the issue of South Tibet when Zhou Enlai, in a letter to Nehru, offered to concede South Tibet to India. However, India rejected the offer, as it also claimed Aksai Chin as part of its territory.
1960: India started establishing posts (border markers) north of South Tibet (north of the McMahon Line) and proclaiming that it has the right to unilaterally 'improve' the McMahon Line as it sees fit.
October 1962: After years of warning, China attacked India's position in South Tibet and recovered Tawang shortly. Three weeks later, in a second wave, China recovered the whole of South Tibet.
November 1962: China unilaterally withdrew back to the north of the McMahon line.
      1975: India annexed Sikkim.
1987: India made South Tibet a state and renamed it the so-called Arunachal Pradesh. The Republic of China (Taiwan) put out a statement denouncing India. Here is the statement:
"In regard to the issue of the Indian government's illegal occupation of our country's territory and the establishment of the so-called 'Arunachal Pradesh,' the foreign ministry of the Republic of China issued the following announcement at midnight: India's illegal occupation of our country's territory has been repeatedly stated by the Government of the Republic of China as something it will not recognize. Recently, the Indian Congress unilaterally passed the establishment of 'Arunachal Pradesh' to the south of the so-called McMahon Line. The Indian Government also made it a state. The Government of the Republic of China once again solemnly proclaims that the Government of India intends to legitimize its illegal occupation of Chinese territory. The Government of the Republic of China regards this as illegal, void, and absolutely not recognized."
2008: A little over a decade after Britain returned Hong Kong to China, Britain had exited its last colonial enterprise in Asia. Tibet no longer had the utility of a bargaining chip vis-à-vis the Hong Kong issue, allowing the British to afford honesty for once. The British government issued a statement recognizing China's sovereignty over Tibet (previously recognized as suzerainty, not sovereignty). The statement, supported by both the Conservative and Labour parties, is remarkable for its honesty in admitting that Britain once had territorial ambitions in Tibet and adopted an almost apologetic tone. Here is an excerpt:
"...But our position is unusual for one reason of history that has been imported into the present: the anachronism of our formal position on whether Tibet is part of China, and whether in fact we harbour continued designs to see the break-up of China. We do not.
Our ability to get our points across has sometimes been clouded by the position the UK took at the start of the 20th century on the status of Tibet, a position based on the geopolitics of the time. Our recognition of China’s “special position” in Tibet developed from the outdated concept of suzerainty. Some have used this to cast doubt on the aims we are pursuing and to claim that we are denying Chinese sovereignty over a large part of its own territory. We have made clear to the Chinese Government, and publicly, that we do not support Tibetan independence. Like every other EU member state, and the United States, we regard Tibet as part of the People’s Republic of China. "
2014: A Tibetan Chinese named Nido Tania from Arunachal Pradesh (occupied South Tibet) went to old Delhi and was beaten to death because he 'looked Chinese.'
2024: The festering border dispute between India and China persists. China's earlier offer to cede South Tibet is no longer available, as China has explicitly stated that South Tibet is part of its territory. This stance mirrors the positions of both the Tibetan Lhasa Government and its civil war rival, the Republic of China (Taiwan).

In the process, keep US as only a strategic partner, and not allow it to indulge and interfere with internal policies and practices. In a nutshell, US cannot be trusted, yet China can become a great friend. If China and India, whose is close to 40% of world population, great miracles can be produced, not only for themselves, but for the rest of the world, without exerting power or arrogantly lead, which is what US does.

I wish the world had more scholars and thinkers like Mr. SL Kanthan, Mr. Pravin Sawhney and Mr. Raja Mohan. They are the hope for better India-China relations. But I have to be straight forward and honest.
Modi’s visit to Moscow and his meeting with Putin is a sign that Russia is winning the war in Ukraine; otherwise, Modi would not dare to appear associated with Putin under imminent pressure from the U.S.
I really don’t understand why politicians in the West like to talk about war with China. China brings hope, peace, prosperity, construcción, human dignity to the world, while the U.S. stokes conflicts, wars, regime changes, destructions and fears. India also likes to talk about how bad China is, as if it can be very useful for the U.S. One Indian woman so-called international relations expert said in one interview on an Indian television talk show that Russia should know that China may not always be Russia’s friend or partner, it could one day be a big threat to Russia, but India will always be. It reminds me of what Joe Biden told Putin in their 2020 meeting in Europe, that Russia should be aware of potential Chinese trouble along their over 5000 miles shared border. Now we know who is the real threat and who is a friend in need to Russia’s existence. India has never won anything in its fights against China. Now, Modi goes to Mosco to kiss Putin’s ass, as if India were essentially relevant in the geopolitical entanglement among the world’s superpowers. But the world knows India is nothing but a useless idiot, an opportunistic prostitute. India could be a great partner with Russia, with the U.S. and with China. That would be beneficial and advantageous that no other country would enjoy; however, India is willingly and voluntarily being used as a vassal state in the geopolitical contention between the U.S. and China. In the end, no one would trust India to be their reliable friend or partner.

    • @AnilNagubadi

We support Russia because they are our long time partners. Indians don't, in principle, ditch old friendships. You are right, India should connect, and share more with China. Although I have less hope for India, I do have a greater hope for a Greater Asia. So I have said this previously and now saying it again...Asian Century should be realised with or without India. I know many people would say Asian Century is not possible until India and China as 2 biggest Asian nations come together, many people would also say that India will soon become 3rd largest economy and largest population so India cannot be excluded from Asia. But if you see the whole picture more practically, you'll notice that unlike China, Japan, South Korea or ASEAN, India doesn't really have a larger impact in the development of Asia. Despite getting the tag of fastest growing economy, most of India remains largely poor and less developed with a lower per-capita income and high income inequality. 10% of Indians hold almost 80% of nations wealth. Thanks to crony capitalism which was made in America and than imported to India. Despite being geographically in Asia, Indian economy is not tightly integrated with the Asian supply chain. Except China most of India's trade happens with non-Asia Pacific countries like US, Middle East, Europe etc. Most of India's export goes to US, UK, EU. These also makes India's foreign trade vulnerable and exposed to Western economic assaults like sanctions and tariffs. One of the main reason behind this development is Indian trade bodies haven't properly explored the rise of Asian markets, haven't really engaged with Asian countries for trade cooperation. Although India have FTA with Japan and South Korea, the trade with both is mostly imbalanced and one-sided. India is a large exporter of software tech. US and EU are the 2 largest market for Indian software exporters. But this also makes India overdependent on very few markets. India should diversify its software exports to emerging markets like ASEAN, Africa, Latin America. Recently there has been demand for Indian software in Japan which might help to reduce India's trade deficit with the later. The best way for India to integrate with the Asian supply chain is to join the RCEP (the largest trading block in the world). Indian policy makers believe joining RCEP would result in large inflow of cheap goods in the market which will kill domestic business. But they've probably forgotten that joining the block will also open the door for Indian products to world's most dynamic and booming markets, the Asia-Pacific markets with China having the largest consumer market. This will greatly help India to reduce its trade deficit. Lastly and most importantly, I don't want to see my nation becomes a Pariah in the region, rather I want my country to join hands with other Asian countries (specially with China) and play a greater role to fulfill the goal of realising the great Asian Century. Hope India and specially Indians give up their isolationist policies and realise developmental opportunities and gains by cooperating China and stop licking Western boots and their lapdogs in India for the sake of political gains

    Here’s the big picture:
Former US top strategist Zbignew Brzezinski said: “It is IMPERATIVE that no Eurasian challenger emerges capable of dominating Eurasia and thus also challenging America”. Because the US has just 4% of world’s population, and it’s isolated from Eurasia which has 70% of world’s population, or 87% with Africa included. Defensively, it’s a benefit to the US, but economically, it’s a handicap.
How the US with an isolated 4% of world’s population stays a world hegemon? The dollar must stay as the world’s reserve currency. This allows the size of the US economy to be highly scaled up, instead of being limited by the fundamentals.
To be the world’s reserve currency, the dollar must circulate in the world. The US created a huge consumption economy and moved manufacturing outside, so that dollars flow out of the US to manufacturers like China or Japan. To make products, China & Japan need energy. So dollar is then circulated to Saudi mandated by the Petrol-dollar scheme. With the US stock and financial market much more lucrative than others, the dollars from Saudi are attracted back to the US. Money printed in the US to exchange for goods from outside ends up in Wall Street, where the rich gets richer. And that completes the cycle of circulation of the dollar.
If China or Japan brings back all the dollars and exchange to their local currencies, it inflates the local currencies, making their exports expensive. So, China & Japan use some of the dollars to buy US debts (Treasury Securities). That’s why the US, a rich country, is in-debt to China which has just 20% of the US’ GDP/cap. By holding US debts, China & Japan have to support the dollar.
Since the US’ debt is in its own currency, it can simply print more dollar to pay interests. Other countries have to earn dollars to pay their debts, failing which results in defaults.
In 2011 Obama announced “Pivot to Asia” to stop China’s rise. In 2013 China responded with the Belt and Road Initiatives (BRI) and diverted US debts into BRI projects. The BRI creates new economies, hence new trade markets for China.
If Asia & Africa develop, the share of the US’ economy shrinks, another currency could replace dollar as the world’s reserve currency. Then the US would no longer be able to print money freely without a hyperinflation like in Venezuela. And the size of the US economy has to fall back to the fundamentals, which is a lot smaller than the inflated economy. That’s why no country in Eurasia is allowed to catch up with the US’ economy. When Japan was catching up fast on the US in late 80s, it’s knocked down to a 3-decade stagnancy by rising Yen (Plaza Accord). And in the last 30 years, the US created wars and color revolutions in the Middle East, Central Asia & Africa to destabilise the region, and the World Bank & IMF keep them poor.
As the US prints excessively, other countries’ dollar reserves are devalued. Furthermore, to prevent exports to the US becoming expensive, these countries have to print money too, which devalues the savings of the people and causes inflation. It’s estimated that our savings devalue by 6% per year after the abolishment of the gold-backed Bretton Woods system, after which the US prints money based on just the creditability of the dollar.
Free money allows the US to have a big military, and the big military in return, protects the dollar.
The US had no mercy on threats to the dollar:
In 2000 Saddam Hussein said he would sell oil in Euros not Dollars.
Saddam was hanged by the US.
In 2009 Gaddafi wanted to make Libya export oil in pan-Africa Gold Dinars, not in dollar or Euro.
Gaddafi was killed by US & Sarkozy-backed NTC.
Iran has been trading oil in currencies other than US dollars since 2011.
Iran was sanctioned by the US.
After being sanctioned in 2014, Putin started to trade in non-dollar. By 2019, Putin: (1) completely ditched dollars in oil trades, (2) sold almost all US debts, (3) is now the forerunner in de-dollarization.
The US tried to topple Putin by supporting Alexei Navalny, sanctioned Russia, and now the Ukraine war to weaken Russia.
China: (1) created the BRI, (2) uses non-dollar in oil trades with Iran & Russia, (3) created the CIPS, an alternative to the SWIFT system now weaponised by the US to sanction 39 states, (4) China’s economy and high-tech are catching up fast, (5) China is the biggest economy in BRICS.
The US started a hybrid war against China: Trade war in 2018. Hong Kong color revolution in 2019. Tech blockage (Huawei ban, EUV banned from ASML). Got Australia into a trade war with China in 2020. Created “Uyghur Genocide” & “Forced Labor” propagandas against Xinjiang (XJ), which is the hub of the BRI, to cut off the BRI. Sanctioned goods from XJ to create joblessness and uprising against the gov. After XJ was stabilized by China, the US orchestrated a coup in Kazakhstan in Jan ‘22, located right next to XJ, to cut off the BRI. In Aug ‘22, Pelosi visited Taiwan to provoke a civil war. In 2023, the US stirred tensions in the South China Sea through its proxy Marcos, whose father had a lot of assets in the US.
If a country supports the dollar, it is looted by the US; if a country doesn’t support the dollar, the gov is changed by the US. This is financial colonialism.
The US can’t have direct wars with Russia and China as they are nuclear armed. Proxy wars put the battlefields outside of the US, and also allow the US to disguise as an outsider. In the 1980s, the US supported the Afghan Mujaheddin in a similar proxy war against the USSR.
Russia and China have clear redlines (*Russia: Ukraine a neutral buffer + Ethnic Russian’s safety in Donbas. *China: “One China principle”). The US used its proxies in Kiev and Taipei to step over the redlines to provoke wars, and got its allies to support the wars.
After the Maidan coup by the US in 2014, Ukrainian army began shelling ethnic Russians in Donbas. It subsided after Minsk agreements in 2014/15, but as disclosed by Poroshenko in June ‘22, and by Merkel & Hollande in Dec ‘22, the Minsk were intended to buy time to arm Ukraine against Russia, not to seek peace. The US occupied Afghanistan for 20 years, but it finally left in Aug ‘21, evidently to prepare for the Ukraine project 6 months later. In Sep ‘21 Zelensky visited Biden to get support to join NATO, and shelling in Donbas by Ukrainian forces up 2800% since 16 Feb ‘22 (OSCE data), crossing Putin’s redlines and provoked the war. Pelosi visited Taiwan in Aug ‘22, after which China surrounded Taiwan with battleships.
Historically, the US’ strategy against China-Russia has always been “one at a time” to avoid pushing them together. The move to put Russia forward amidst the on-going hybrid war against China, was due to a major development:
The Fed has issued 80% of all US dollars in market in just 24 months during the pandemic. There was $4 trillion in circulation at the beginning of 2020. The number reached $20 trillion by Oct 2021. As a dollar printed is backed by a dollar debt, a large amount of US debt need to be sold. Coupled with a global move to diversify into non-dollar reserves fuelled by US sanctions & the dollar’s declining creditability, the US is in a financial crisis.
The US proxy war in Ukraine:
1.Strengthened the dollar by weakening Euro. It happened before in NATO's bombing of Serbia in 1999 (2 months after Euro became the currency of EU). A strong dollar and the Fed’s timely interest rise, created a giant magnet attracting capitals from all over the world into the US.
2.Divided Russia from Europe. As the first NATO chief, Hastings Ismay described NATO’s role: “To keep America IN, to keep Russia OUT, to keep Germany DOWN”. NATO also allows the US to station missiles in Europe, keeping the US safe across the Atlantic.
3.Halted Nord Stream, and German firm Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg signed up gas from America Venture Global LNG for 20 years. >the US wrestled from Russia the control of energy to Europe. As George Friedman of US think tank Chicago Council OGA said in 2015:”The US’ primary fear is the marriage of German technologies and Russian resources”. And Condoleezza Rice said in 2014:”You (Europe) want to depend more on the North American energy platform, the enormous bounty of oil and gas we’re finding in America, not on pipelines through Ukraine or Russia.”
4.Pushes industries back to the US soil by de-industrializing Europe, as indicated by: (i) The US’ sabotage of N.S. pipelines and US gas sold 4x the price, (ii) The US’ proposed sanction on Algeria after Macron visited Algeria for a gas deal in Aug ‘22, (iii) The foiled sabotage on TurkStream pipeline which feeds Russian gas to Europe via Turkey in Oct ‘22, (iv) The US’ Inflation Reduction Act in Aug ‘22 which pulls capitals from Europe.
Note: The US already bagged TSMC from Taiwan.
Despite the self-damage, the EU still gives unconditional support to Ukraine. In fact, two European countries (Ukraine and Germany’s N.S.) were attacked in 2022, NATO helped Non-Ally Ukraine, but Ally Germany was ignored. There are 4 other wars going on, e.g. the Yemen war which killed half mil ppl and starving 16 mil. No one cares, because Saudi is an ally, and the war was lobbied by Raytheon. It’s NEVER about justice. Boris Johnson visited Kiev 3 times, to stop Zelensky from peace talk w Russia. Leaders in Europe, the elites loyal to the US, are pinning hopes on Ukraine defeating Russia to say job done to Washington. Zelensky is advertised a hero to get public support.
The US is pushing Europe and Asia into wars. Remember after WW2, Europe and Asia were devastated, but the US emerged from the Great Depression, became the world leader and the dollar became the world’s reserve currency.
