- Volvos first real SUV sold under the name C202 Volvo Cross Country and the nickname "Volvo Laplander". It's a "Communist Volvo" made in Hungary by Csepel Auto 1978-1980. It's very small and probably one of the smallest overland 4x4 campers, measuring only 4 meters (13 ft) long and 1.65 m (5 ft) wide. This video is how it looks inside and how it runs. I hope to give some building idea to other camper builders. Car was original build for a trip to South Africa by Arabian countrys and red sea cost and was used as a shore diving car. That was a very "no nonsense" presentation.
He has kept this vehicle going for over forty years. It purrs like a lion and he kept all the old parts. It still looks new. I salute you sir!!!!!

Yeah this looks ideal. I keep looking at “camper vans” but most of them seem to aspire to be a boutique hotel on wheels. Each to their own, but to me camping has an element of improvisation. Gotta love the polystyrene shades!

This a true camper!!!,which will take you anywhere!!!simple,realiable,with everything you really need to camp in the wild.Can be taken off road!!!,this modern days campers are useless designed to park only in designated areas,highway drive only:),I'd rather rent myself a hotel room!:))))

I'd certainly be happy with it. I guess I'd want to know if there is AC and, is there a way to safely store strung up fly rods?!
