Initially your painting looks totally unassuming, but then suddenly bam. I really admire your off the cuff wetblend overbrush skills.

Thank you, there were a lot of moments in this one where I thought it was going to look awful but enough rust and dirt makes it look fine

    Great little piece. Very flavorful.
Bit of an aside: I like the idea that in the post-apocalyptic wasteland, certain tribes of scavengers are known to build little shrines around the hulks of destroyed war machines. Especially if those machines have human (or "human") remains in them, which the scavengers never disturb. The shrines are made of scrap or piled stones, and given candles and offerings. To placate the souls of the ones who commanded the war machines, so their machines can be looted without them returning in spirit to bedevil the living.

The worship angles is one I hadn't considered and a small cairn would've been a great addition. I had a similar headcanon that the locals consider them cursed hence why they haven't been disturbed/looted

Hoping your channel grows! There is some really cool stuff here being made! Looking to get some foam board but I am unsure of what thickness to get. Any chance you toss up a list of the things you regularly use?

Thanks! and of course. So for foamcore I have two main types both about 5mm thick. The white stuff I use is more rigid and I get from a local store(hobbycraft if you're uk based). The other is the black one which is a bit spongier but holds detail better. That one I get on Amazon. The other similar product is the green foam which I get from the hardware store in bulk. It's also 5mm thick and is basically foamcore without the paper layer. It's usually sold as underfloor insulation board. Hope this helped.

You can also find them at most hobby/dollar stores. They should be about a pound a pack and it's a lot easier to gauge the size in person

Thank you! It's a modelling compound similar to a mix of plaster and paper mache. 'Scultpamold' is the brand name
