Threading a pace of coat hanger or wire in the archway may give some strength. and added stability.
I was just imagining the horror situation of letting a friend handle something like this, then carry it like a basket with the arch in the hand... I do wonder to make it stable, one could pierce the stones with armature wire? Really cool looking piece!
Maybe some welding. :)
amazing craft mate! what brand are the bushes you have on the right side on the paper at 13:30?
A better way to do the arch would be to feed the foam stones onto a wire to keep it solid there
Hmm. How about running some wire (or a large paper clip, straightened) through the middle of each portal arch stone, poking both ends in to base?
Looks great! I’m inspired to build some portals myself now haha
Turned out great. if you _do_ make another, I was wondering if either/both an internal frame wire, or hotglue instead of PVA, might make for a sturdier build? Portals and gateways are a huge part of the lore of one world I created, so I've got a bunch, but none of this design, so it has me thinking 👍🏾
Thank you, yup, would 100% use a wire if I did this one again
Nice! Happy NY btw!
This is so good! I love the style and color scheme.
These wall sections look pretty cool and work well as blocking terrain. I might suggest adding a couple of extra flat areas amongst the rubble for miniatures to stand on. Historically massive walls like this are face front and back with cut stones and filled with rubble. Depending on if there are any peasants in the local area, stones would be robbed for any other buildings.
This is awesome! Definitely going to be trying this technique out myself. Thank you for the awesome video!
Interesting to watch 😊😊
Wow! Magnificent. I made some individual wall sections a couple of years ago for a jungle setting. - So the amount of foliage was considerably more. I added bushes and small trees on the crumble stonework, with lots of roots searching for purchase. I also added thick vines growing on the walls, with tendrils of various thicknesses, and lots of clump foliage on the ends; and - Instead of foam board, which always warps in our humid climate, I used expanded PVC sheets cut to a length, width and shapes similar to your bases. PS. How do human figures look if placed on top, behind the crenellations? Did the crenellations looked to be more or less in scale with your human figures?
Thank you! The taller crenelation covers about half of a standing 28mm figure. I built them with frostgrave/oathmark kits and my own rabbit range in mind so they are a little on the smaller side
@ That’s excellent! Thank you
Haha, I loved the grass tufts bit. I called it and you did it and it worked. Good stuff!
Haha, thank you!
Nice job, superb wall!
This was an interesting execution of a very original project concept that I haven’t really seen done this way before. I learned a lot.
Good👍 More ruins)
What a load of old walls. Great job, thanks. Lexi.
Oooh, what lovely megaliths!
Just started building a turnip army, great inspiration, thanks 👍
Liked that "foiliage slime" idea - going to try that!
Nice And Simple! Awesome!👊👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Great work as always ☺☺
Thanks again!
A creative and great job, no doubt!
Nicely done. Thanks.
I love the simplicity and the modularity of the pieces. You can configure them in any design you can conceive and are not stuck on a permanently set layout. Well done sir! Any plans to expand the cyberpunk “town”? Are we going to see the entire collection together with your painted residents/denizens?
Thank you! I don't have any current cyberpunk plans as I'm in a big fantasy/alt history mood but I will circle back to Sci fi at some point soon. I have a vague idea for a thematic retro Sci fi idea which would use that terrain...
@ That would be awesome! I can’t wait to see what you do with it next
Perfect timing - was just in the middle of making some of these!
Well done. and just in time for the winter solstice. set 'em up in a circle and you're sure to have a druid or two show up in you game 😀
Nice simple but effective build. Reminds me of some of the stones we saw in Scotland this past fall.
Not bad. You are building up a decent table full of this style.
I love these , 40 make a frost grave warband , small Oathmark , D and D and turnip ! The ultimate take to any club try and get a game force for £55 with your wizards 🧙
Really awesome piece of terrain 😊😊😊
brilliant!
Looks mint mate
Looks kinda like turnip28-ish in the early stages of the painting.
Nice work dude 💕💕
nice shit👍👍
Nice work
Amazing work man! I can see this also working as a medieval, possibly post-calamity, fantasy set piece where the owners died and its been overgrown
Another great segment in this latest terrain set
Noice
great models! Do you know from which kit the shoulder coat comes from?
Hi, thank you! that shoulder coat is from the victrix 1804-1807 French infantry. Same kit I used for the fodder
This is reall gorgeous work bro. Love to see more :)
This was a wonderful project. Your tabletop crafts are next-level in terms of creativity and thoughtfulness, yet still very approachable for anyone. Keep up the fine work.
Thank you!
Amazing painting. I love how grimy they are. I also cannot wait for plastic.
I got these to use for Carnival of Chaos warbands in Mordheim. Great paint jobs!
Thank you!
Omg I need these... they are literally the coolest ghoulish minis that I've seen in a long time.
What brush on primer did you use? I’ve been looking for one with a finish like that
That is Pebeo studio acrylics black gesso
these figures will fit into Mordheim quite nicely - nice subtle paint scheme :)
