  • My first fishing trip in London of 2018 results in a couple brutal barbel and a surprise equally tough trout which I am unable to show due to certain complications of which the after effect will show you how sad things can be in the fishing community here in the UK.

    Hey nice video of your fishing. You are there for your own enjoyment and should not care about what others say. Personally I hate trout but like you I would return it unharmed as I have done in the past. Lovely to see someone making a big effort to go fishing. Good luck in the future. Tight lines.

    Love these vids, personally can’t stand trout, barbel not indigenous but when you put them back, hold head upstream well oxygenated water for as long as you can, you can do it in landing net, so your hands don’t get frozen. The first one you put back was still a bit unstable, they give their all in the fight. Keep putting your vids up, love watching them, those rivers same as all industrial areas had no life in them for over a century!

    Top angling mate.....I will say this bluntly England has a problem with not only theft of trout but also of carp for food (normal in Poland to eat carp) but also theft of birds of prey via egg theft.....so far all convictions are of Eastern European migrants.
    These are facts not racism
    Iam just pointing this out so you know why the fishing community is very guarded and yes would easily jump to wrongfull conclusions 👍 ignore anyone who has there head up their arse 😉 good to see you enjoying some river 🎣

      Olá. Em primeiro lugar, precisas de uma rod license. Podes obtê-la online. Normalmente podes pescar nos lagos e canais o ano todo. A época de rio começou no dia 16 deste mês. Os direitos de pesca das aguas são quase sempre propriedade de alguém, por isso tem cuidado. Verifica sempre se podes pescar no local antes de o fazeres. Normalmente é preciso pagar, um bilhete diário ou tens que te inscrever num clube. Há muita informação online. Só tens que procurar.
      Boa pesca!

    Can someone explain to me why taking the trout is such a bad thing, provided you have the correct licence, it's the right size, you're fishing in season, and you take within your quota? Is it just a sportsmanship thing - leaving trout for others to catch?

    • @paramidge8935
      @paramidge8935 3 роки тому

      A licence and specific permission/club membership depending on where you are - some waters are catch and release only with very sound reasoning. Britain = huge population but limited resources - particularly chalk streams which are the rarest river habitats on earth - so conserving them responsibly is essential. All part of our responsibility to the planet at the end of the day. Tightlines to all who understand this basic fact of life.

      This trout was in the River Wandle in London. It's a very small river with loads of fishing pressure. It has trout in it because some nice people made the effort to re-introduce trout into what was once a very polluted river. They're not wild fish. If everyone who fishes the Wandle kept the fish they caught there would rapidly be no trout left. Have a nice day.

  • @paramidge8935
    @paramidge8935 3 роки тому

    How would you like to see conservation conducted, how much conservation are you actively involved in? What precisely is the 'attitude' of your local fishing community? Great fishing with free lined bread - about as pure as bait fishing gets really. Being honest, you come across as a little paranoid - what sort of 'problems' have you encountered from whom and with what given rationale? If that is the Wandle you are fishing, I know that there has been a huge amount of effort and time put into the restoration and conservation of that river, by often very skilled and knowledgable volunteers - are you one of them?

    • @DrewWithington
      @DrewWithington 11 місяців тому

    I know where you were fishing. The fishing rights in that park belong to an angling club - there are signs. I don't think I'm speculating too much in thinking that you couldn't be bothered to join that angling club before fishing. Therefore you were poaching. Perhaps if you were a bit more respectful you wouldn't have brought all the grief on yourself. Cheers.
