I heard on 1st April George called Carl and turned the psychological screw on him for a bit of a laugh and had Froch glassy eyed and mumbling like he had 2 plums in his mouth.
Groves nearly delivered on his promise in the first fight. Carl absolutely delivered on his in the second. Groves still grew to be more than I thought he could.
@@tonberrykingedI agree I like Froch and enjoyed their fights they were classic but he also was going to cry. Getting a little teary and shaky voiced on this interview. He’s a legend and a proper boxer with good heart in hard fights.
I mean Groves played a blinder here. Still got stopped. Twice. Won the mind games, lost the fights. But a great dude and I am happy he finally got hold of a world title belt...
The mind games groves played during the build up were best iv ever seen I think he'd got froch believing he couldn't win but his toughness & experience got him through the 1st 6 rounds then physically took over 7.8.9 great fight ! Then came the rematch when he couldn't live with froch with the mind games
Boxing is psychological as much as it is physical and Groves absolutely *owned* Froch in the build-up to both fights. The way he did it was majestic. At the time it felt like the ginger kid in the schoolyard standing up to the bully and making him cry. Froch was a human highlight reel, the most consistently exciting fighter to watch, but the way George unravelled him psychologically was something to behold.
Total nonsense, Groves got him in the build up to the first but the second Groves got owned especially when Froch nearly dislocated his shoulder having a bit of a push and pull abart.
Still lost, though. Twice. By stoppage - and he was getting stopped even if Foster hadn't jumped in and saved from being totally poleaxed. You overstate the significance of mind games. Yes., they play a part but not as big a part as that time when they're wearing gloves and hitting each other. That part is sorta more important, I feel...
Overstated??? Mentally George had him in his palm in this interview especially, n if u don’t think that had a big part in why 1) it brought in A AVALANCHE OF WORLDWIDE VIEWERS WHO (a lot) DIDNT LIKE FROCH n ALOT DIDNT KNOW GROVES, 2) FROCH visited a psychologist in prep for 2nd fight which he was forced into by big Rob Mc, cozve the way the world saw how his head was frazzled!
this was easily the best english rivalry of the modern era ahahah build up was insane, guys dont sell fights like this anymore, everyone was tuned in to every interview ect great fighters both of them
Could someone genuinely explain to me why Froch was so emotional in the build up? I don't get it. He was a big experienced fighter and favourite vs a massive underdog in Groves. I'm not quite following what is bothering Froch so much.
I love the fact these two are mates these days. Proper dust ups in the rings and what is done is done. Seeing Eddie quiet for a few minutes is unnerving though haha.
People who think carl was atcually worried in this fight are hilarious 😂, carl said straight away what he was gonna do and did it, groves just wanted his 5 minutes of fame lol thats why carl looked annoyed because he new he was gonna get him out of there.
Froch has said that in hindsight he was expecting Groves to be humble and respectful, he had the belts, he was 10yrs older and this kid in his eyes should have been saying the usual "I respect what carls done", "it's an honour to be fighting a word champ" but Groves came out giving no respect and calling him a chump etc and it boiled his piss and annoyed him so much he could hardly cope.
I remember when Froch was coming up and he always came across as awkward and shy in front of the camera. But the way he is now just shows how well he conquered it.
I'm sure when he beat Kessler he was starting to feel like the main man and there was talk about a big Vegas fight with Chavez Jr.Think he was gutted about having to take on someone who he didn't think was world level.
A few observations; 1) Carl did look completely rattled here and actually did look like he was about to cry!!🤣🤣 2) Eddie is clearly so nervous and inexperienced here. Look at his body language (quiet, no facial expression, holding his own hand out of anxiety. 3) they all look so young, particularly Eddie without his beard and grey hair!
Groves is number 1 for me in gloves off moment's in combat sports, maybe Conor McGregor in his prime was close. "Are you going to cry Carl? Eddie can't save you now". Absolute genius!
Hearn on camera for 3.5 mins and not saying a single word is absolutely mindblowing
It was so INTENSE he prob felt he’d get SPARKED for SPEAKING WHEN NOT SPOKEN TO!!! Youth of today could do with taking this in!🤣
lol

Didn't need to, this was box office! 😅

Boxing in 2023 so dry you gotta unearth this footage, oh how far we’ve come
It’s the 10 year anniversary…but yeah, Sky boxing especially is terrible at the moment
@@GIBBO418210th anniversary
@@GIBBO4182 yeah I know and I love Froch & Groves, I’m just so disappointed with the past 2 years of heavyweight boxing :/
@@WizzWins heavyweight is a joke right now, hopefully they’ll sort it out soon
@GIBBO4182 what's 20 Yr anniversary?
It's the way Groves is constantly leaning in trying to hear Froch 😂
And failing
Eddie looked like he wanted to burst out laughing the whole time. So funny 😂
He was to interested working out how many were going to watch this and the future rematch on PPV.
What I love bout this they are now good friends talk all you want but respect is massive ...
I heard on 1st April George called Carl and turned the psychological screw on him for a bit of a laugh and had Froch glassy eyed and mumbling like he had 2 plums in his mouth.
Groves head to head with an opponent was absolute box office.
Groves nearly delivered on his promise in the first fight. Carl absolutely delivered on his in the second. Groves still grew to be more than I thought he could.
perfectly put my friend.
You'll never get stuff like this again, absolute quality on both sides in this rivalry. Glad I watched it 👏
He actually looks like he’s about to cry 😂
It's the opposite
He looks like he is trying to keep him self from going apeshit.
Ite called boredom
I think he's just fuk!n fuming groves plan worked perfectly to the build up different story the second time round
Froch ain't no cry baby. He'd make you cry though
“We can all pull abaaart... have a little pull and a push” 😅
This rivalry was class and gave me a lot of entertainment in and out of the ring.
Cant resist a rewatch of the classic face to face interviews between these two...absolute classics! Push and a pull
Froch was holding in true rage that’s what was being seen 🥊
Yeah he was ready to explode but knew he couldn't.
💯
This is boxing gold ,both these guys are pure class ,British boxing’s finest ,great to see them now as a double act
Groves told Froch what he was going to do and then he actually did it.
Carl wasn’t lying and he did it twice lol
Groves was such a lethal trash talker before this fight
Yeah such a smart guy. But actually, in many ways he's not really trash talking. Just winding his opponent up by being smarter than them.
@@tonberrykingedI agree I like Froch and enjoyed their fights they were classic but he also was going to cry. Getting a little teary and shaky voiced on this interview. He’s a legend and a proper boxer with good heart in hard fights.

Groves had him melted 😂
And got ironed out twice
@christate3197come on man, groves is better in every category
I think he got a bit teary envisioning the damage he was going to do to him. And he followed through 😂
You are wrong
Groves has 0 wins over Froch and got sent to the shadow realm in their 2nd fight 😂
This rivalry was so quotably funny 😂
One of the best build ups to a fight ever with these 2
Hell right!
The last sentence of the video though, "is that a trick or treat", adrenaline is a helluva drug 😂
can't believe this was 10 years ago lol, these Ringside episodes feel like yesterday 😅
The biggest thing I took away from this is how much Hearn has aged in the last 10 years
That is pretty much how most people age from 35-45. Its a downward spiral.
Froch looks younger in 2023.
Breaking news, man looks different in video taken 10 years ago
He looks basically the same
@@ahuman1082 yep that's surgery for you

I kinda felt like groves was bullying him a bit here lol/.
Had the champ on the ropes way before even the ring walk! Great for a man who FROCH felt wasn’t on his level!

Why on earth did sky remove the whole interview from youtube ? I remember watching it a few years ago and id of liked to have seen it again.
The two ringside full episodes have been taken down for some reason, they need to come back!!!
Get the full episode up 😮 best ever ringside this 🎉 and eddie looks 30 years younger
