really helpful for me. Making my own exhaust for my car trying to take out the muffler because it is super heavy and takes up a lot of space but most of the exhaust I have been making are for performance, no sound restrictions so they are extremely loud, but not my taste. Really trying to make one for the quiet daily life, this really helped. Just need to find where I can get some of the higher end fiberglass.
Good info on the design of new and old style glasspacks. In the old days we would bake the glasspack in a fire pit before installing. I always heard Louvres pronounced as Lewvers not Lowvers. Just like in the name Lou Castello. 😷
@@daddycremecake4260 according to gearhead of the day it would fuse all the layers of the fiberglass and then after a few backfires the glass would crack and have a better sound!
Won't matter, but why? Intake is larger because hot gas is less dense. As the gas cools, the smaller output helps with velocity. Unless you're running a full race rig, your low end torque will be better with some back pressure.
@@3347861 The intake and outlet on most glasspacks are the same size.

Oh yap. I was just about to ask: what about it in reverse. I would try it reverse.. And I think ya already covered my spiral idea too haha. I didn't get to that just yet, I paused it to where it shows some kind of spiral.
if I add 2 louvered core resonator on my honda civic with the side that makes less back pressure will my noise gets deeper because I don't wanna flip the louvered and lose performance
+William Taboada i have a long pipe like 28 inches 2.5inch on my v6 chevy my brother has a short 2 and a half on a v8 dodge his is alot louder mines deeper im going to guess the short ones are louder
Soooo.I put a glasspack right after the catalytic converter.....when i try to rev my engine...it backfires...and the rpm goes straight down and my truck dies on me ..what can I do? What is it?help
don't get why people are taking the piss, this video helped me understand so much, thanks!

Which glasspacks are louder the shorter or longer
+William Taboada i have a long pipe like 28 inches 2.5inch on my v6 chevy my brother has a short 2 and a half on a v8 dodge his is alot louder mines deeper im going to guess the short ones are louder
+William Taboada I would assume shorter. Because theres less insulation for the sound to travel through, so less stuff to absorb the sound waves
none at all are loudee
orayt! thanks!

Too much back pressure. High flow cat? Start with better headers maybe? Make the exahust bigger by a 1/4 to 1/2 inch?
