He just he's not going to be a bust you can look at him and tell him he's a he has that dog in him that mentality to dominate he's nowhere near I don't know he's not a bust
I couldn't agree with you more. I've been saying for months that Zach Edey is the best, most dominant player in this draft and it isn't even close. People just can't seem to be able to see it. Just for one thing, if ever his team must have a bucket, get it to Zach in one of his spots near the basket. There is no one, and I mean no one who will stop him. If they try to stop him by fouling him, he either gets an and 1 or two free throws and he is an excellent free throw shooter. Drafting him number one overall is a no brainer!
There literally won't be anyone his size in the NBA outside of Boban. Everyone else is shorter and/or skinnier. The next closest player will actually be Clingan, who's 2 inches shorter and 20lbs lighter, and who Edey has already shown he can score against.
He’s only been playing basketball for 6 years?….. that’s absolutely crazy. And keeps getting better year by year. Teams are overthinking it. Stephen Adam’s injury may end up being a blessing.
Classic “I’ve only seen him do x so he clearly can’t do y.” his post play was so efficient that that is all he did at Purdue. The man can shoot a 3. Defensive liability? My dude, did you even watch any Purdue games with Edey? There is a reason he doesn’t foul and why Purdue as a whole doesn’t foul. We’re living in Lala land if we seriously thinking that he won’t be successful
Edey is worth drafting high just to own the post and defend against the NBA's biggest centers, he is going to be a dominant force in the middle despite his flaws.
Ok, he can shoot a little but is he getting by his defender of the dribble? If hes not a threat to get to the basket then hes going to have a hard time getting an open shot on the outside. I dont think hes a bust but i think he`ll be a guy that can come off the bench and contribute for the next decade on a good team. I watched him against Clingan and after hittling like 6 of his first 8 shots i think he went like 3/12 against clingan the rest of the way. He also had trouble with Uconns back up center whos insanely athletic and beat Edey to the basket for easy dunks. If he had not fouled out he wouldve done that the rest of the game as Edey simply could not keep up with his speed. Edey will face guys like that every night in the NBA.
Bring him home to Toronto, his game is really elevated if he has good playmakers and Toronto has Immanuel Quickley and Scottie Barnes just to name two right off, not to mention Darko Rajaković is the kind of coach who truly cares about his players success so im sure he will be in good hands
Zach will go in the lottery if not in the top 5 top 10. I look at the players in this draft and surely there are good players but noone who stands out as a generational player. So yea team can pick to fill hole etc but what teams really should be doing is taking generational players regardless of their need. IMO Edey is a generational player for so many reasons. If I were an NBA GM, thats the question I'd be asking myself.. do i fill a hole or do I take that generational player.. IMO you do the latter. Some GM in the top 10 lottery picks is going to have that mental exercise and do what I propose.. if not the top 3.
The first 8 teams will regret they didn't drafted the two-time player of the year monster! Nobody can guard Edey and he destroyed Clingan in the championship game. He will be ROY.
He's not a defensive liability. He's a shot blocking machine who would be like having an aircraft carrier in the paint. His offensive game is the most developed of any big man in this draft and it isn't even close!
@@ljgittingeriii3199 We’ll have to agree to disagree. Zach Edey can barely move. He’s gonna get torn apart defensively, and he’s gonna be ineffective offensively. He’s too slow footed
@cameronspencer214 he tested faster in every aspect at the combine than Sarr and Clingan. So not sure where you are getting information. He also had the 5th highest 3pt% of all players in the combine that took place in it.
@@munkey28 We’re not talking about a combine, we’re talking about an NBA game. A lot of players look good in a combine. Its a different story in games tho
Zach Edey will be the best player from this draft
Jared McCain or Alex sarr will be the best
@@Ykyeditz1 doubt it will be Sarr. McCain is interesting for sure though

I think the baseball and hockey background have a lot to do with his athleticism. He not goofy like the other giants . Hes cordinated .
Well he a grizzly now
Teams will regret not taking him as soon as they can get him.
He’ll be the best player in this draft. We will look back on this and think we were all overthinking it

nope Kyle Filipowski will be best player in the draft
Great vid hopefully Memphis takes him number 9 tomorrow
Thank you
I really hope so man. Morant Edey pick n roll will be unguardable. We should get a veteran big as well

Edey will be a solid player for a decade when a bunch of twiggy busts are drafted ahead of him.
Bust!!
Edey's the best player in the draft.
@@SuperJay12jay yeah and he was the best player in college 😂🧐😂 the only reason they did not draft him first is because he's a different shade color

If this was the 90s, he would be a #1 pick.
Well after hearing he can shoot midrange to the 3 point line fairly solid in workouts I’d say it’s conceivable he’s a steal of the draft candidate.

Him on OKC with Chet at the 4 would be scary💯💯💯
I think he'll be a perfect fit for Memphis, especially with their ability to develop talent.
Next Yao Ming or Boban?
I hope Spurs draft him. Him+Wemby would be insane.
Yeah me too.
That zarr guy looks a lot like bronny 😮
Gobert also big and slow and can't shoot..he doing well enough
Gafford and Lively went to the Finals with Dallas. They don't shoot 3s.

Actually, Edey is a good outside shooter. You stated that wrong.
Zach definitely a good defensive liability
