- Trae Young is a Misunderstood Superstar.
Ever since being drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in 2018 and then being traded to his current team, the Atlanta Hawks, in exchange for Luka Doncic, Trae Young has been misunderstood, labelled as an undersized, scrawny point guard, who is a capable NBA player, but not a superstar.
But Trae's performance ever since leaving Oklahoma in 2017 has been nothing short of incredible. Leading the Hawks to the Conference Finals in 2021, and carrying teams to the playoffs year after year, Young has proved himself to be a legit, superstar.
Yet, many believe he isnt, why?

I love Trae Young. Hated for hooping, hated for his looks, hated for his lisp, hated for literally anything. He didn't choose to be a villain, people made him one. The way he just focuses on his game and shuts the haters up is so motivating to me.

@@Outofboundshoops i hope so! They have been having issues from three minus MPJ. Last game vs the Timberwolves they had 16 turnovers before the end of the 3rd quarter and almost lost. They just need to remain consistent to win.

As a Mavs and Luka fan. The media is the real problem. They are the ones who discredit TY. Luka and Trae trade was what both teams needed. I like TY. I believe he is also a superstar. I do wish Trae a healthy and long career. Unfortunately most will always remember the trade Mavs vs Hawks. It is what it is.
It really is crazy how one random moment on draft night impacted Trae's career in such a negative way. He didn't even do anything hahahaha

Trae wanted to rehab so he can come back healthy and help the team win, and so that he wouldn’t further aggravate his injury. Imagine if your employer forced you to come to work despite you suffering from a very high fever and you can’t get out of bed. That ain’t right.

Thanks for the amazing vid. Whether or not you’re a Trae Young fan, this presentation of his career is spot on. I’m a Trae Young fan so I was very much interested by the title, having seen the disrespect he has gotten. And I was especially happy to see he was named to the tryout. Only thing I wish is he would have accepted the first injury replacement, then he would be a 4x All ⭐️
Edit : you did a really great job circling everything back around to where he is now… that was perfect ending and I was so happy to see the high notes to cap it off. His interview response made him even more respectable than just a great player.
Also I appreciate the fact that you didn’t need to name drop a bunch of teammates and didn’t focus on that at all. I think a lot of other creators would have focused on players like John Collins and made some sort of connection to Traes career. You allowed him really stand on his own as a superstar and leader of the Hawks and it was just amazing. ❤

people hate the fact that Trae is just a superstar who came here to ball - not to start fights or get into drama. People hate him for not being like the other extravagant superstars. If Trae had a few rings, no one would constantly criticize him. Steph is a great example, comes here to ball out and in games, not in any drama - people don't say anything. But because Trae is an easier target, they go for him.

I will say this. I am not a big Trae Young or Luka Doncic fan, but it is a fact that both of them have led their team to the comference finals even tho many act as of Luka has done so much more than Trae. One has been called a coach killer, the other has been called a whiner and bad teammate. So they are not much different from each other.
Yeah and Trae was the first one to led his team to the conference finals and gave the bucks a run for their money I think he also got injured that series

My god man, have you watched him play? Of course you have. He's so electric, with the ball in his hands, especially with his two man lob game. Truly elite. With the ball in his hands. Playing that two man lob game. Keep watching him. Watch him let the defense off the hook with his Curry 3 game. Yes I know you've seen him hit a bunch of those, it makes the highlights. Keep on watching. Notice how the defense is nowhere near him when he shoots them, since his second year in the league. This is because his first year defenders saw a lightskin dude shooting from deep and panicked.
They don't panic anymore, do they? This is because he shoots those deep threes like Giannis shoots ordinary threes. Glance over at his teammates faces when he lets fly with 17 on the shot clock. Brutal. Anyway keep watching. It's hard because some dude on the other team is having the game of a lifetime. We dont need to know his name, lets just call him "Trae's Man." Keep your head on a swivel, Trae is nowhere near him once he crosses halfcourt, and notice that Trae's Man never lets him off the hook, he runs directly to the front of the rim.
How about off the ball? Is he elusive? Yes. He's so small that when he stands motionlessly in the corner, it's hard to see him, because not only is he motionless, he is motionless in a posture that is not ready to catch and fire. Watch Trae's man cause havoc playing free safety. Fortunately for Trae, his sins can be absolved. Google "Hawk's coach fired." That's who takes the fall. Does he set good picks. Hell, no, he specializes in ghost screens, nobody getting open except him. This is just off the top of my head.
Elite skillset, bargain work ethic, particularly off the ball and on D. Flip his ass and bring in somebody who will set a screen, or contest a shot, or man, even make a goddamn shot.
