Watching NL unlearn every good habit he has in this game because of desperation within 9 minutes is like watching a super condensed version of his Fall Guys Career
Make sure to remember NL, youre allowed to steal from the shops and not kill the shopkeeper! The rope trick stuns them and then you can just run, you get forgiveness sooo much quicker if you steal and don't kill
When you hear NL say "And we've done it ... 20 minutes into the video, you hear the beating of drums" and you already saw the video was 22 minutes long from the thumbnail.
Nice to see NL doing Quillback strats. That's an easy ~10k, guaranteed bombs, and some HP with just a little bit of practice. Skulls take a lot longer, though. Rock is my preferred method if I don't have the spike shoes so I almost always try to carry a rock into 1-4.
The moment egg dad goes from havin' a good time to going down that tree...and the trap...oh man, the sharp shift in commentary is so good. Egg dad keep up the great content, I will be pogged, and watch you until the end of time.
Explosives like Bomb Bags/Boxes, Jetpacks, etc. that are incased in something - Quillback, Crates, etc.- don't explode from a single explosion. The only reason Quillback explode with the Shotgun is because the pellets tend to hit the Bomb Bag he drop after he dies. It would be stupid to have Jetpacks in the ground but when you try to bomb it the explosion causes the Jetpack to explode.
Lots of bad luck, but still entertaining! Also, kept thinking my kids (tweens and teens though) were saying "Dad, dad..." towards the end. Made me pause to check! Lol.
nl you can throw a skull at the bone wall from the other side to break it without dropping a skull on the idol. you can also whip it from inside if you have the cahones but its scary
I had a run where I killed olmec for the first time, my third eye opened and I played perfectly up until faced with a situation I'd never encountered before. It was the opposite of this mega-tilt and I can't help but feel like I stole his mojo
NL, open your heart and ears: I just saw a video of a person that skipped Olmec completely by teleporting leftward into the Ankh chamber through using a rope in the corner of the Waddler subspace. According to them the teleporter will consistently put you in a neat little space, or due to its random distance find empty space above a block and put you there instead of teleporting you inside it (failing which is what normally kills you using the teleporter) Should you encounter a chance teleporter shortly before Olmec, I beseech you attempt this incredible dark magic.
Ok, for all the losses on this run ngl there was some solid play. I don’t have spelunky 2 myself but I think if you intend to go aggro shopkeeper it’s better to steal and try not to kill the one at the end for ~3 floors and then you’re back to normal. As opposed to killing shopkeepers, but having to do so every floor.
Forgiveness. Knock em down, take their stuff... one floor where you have to avoid shopkeepers. You get a guaranteed shotgun (unless they have a vault/door) + whatever is in the shop Also, whether intentional or accidental... generation seems 'cursed' 90% of the time now. More difficult, more traps, more resources used + Olmec is an insidious killer now.
Important to note that hover pack does the same thing as cape, except better. Because you can control your rate of descent without losing height due to time. You may be undervaluing it.
