SoundmanCA What is it with people giving you guy's shit for building a enclosure, not everyone wants a square box with a slot-port and a kicker, slapped together in 45 minutes. Hope you and your family had a good break Doug. Peace
Coming from an ex professional installer this is solid work! Our two top fabricators in the company had been trained at mobile solutions. I want to know who these guys are that are giving it a thumbs down!!! I'd love to see the quality of work you are putting out that you feel you can critique this great build.
@@andrewturner1714 i know its late but if i had to guess id say somewhere between 500 and 1000 to have a skilled fab guy build you one. This is why its so incredible that channels like this exist just putting this info here for anyone who wants it. even without a router table you can pretty easily build something almost as nice as this for under 100$ if you DIY
Your Craftsmanship is very impressive, thanks to your videos I have incorporated alot of your techniques and methods into my builds. I may not be quite on your level yet but prepping all my pieces for carpet or vinyl has really improved the aesthetics. I would like to add an acrylic beauty panel into a future build, maybe even backlit. I really appreciate your videos they have taught me alot.
The final result is beautiful! I have been using the tips and tools you recommend to install a new system in my son's RX-8 and, so far, it has turned out great. Thanks for all the teaching. I am putting it to practice and am happy with the results.
I build some of everything from decks, furniture and ornamental pieces. Dude you are a serious carpenter and craftsmen. I have never build a audio box, but I watch all your videos. Keep up the good work!
Awesome job! I do upholstery professionally and have wrapped quite a few custom boxes/ stereo systems in my day. This came out badass. We share the same level of attention to detail. I hate seeing crappy wrapped boxes, speaker pods and door panels. Keep it up man!
That is sick!!! I'm trying to do a wrap on a box I purchased for on top of the rear seats of my truck... this has given me lots of ideas...I thought I was picky to detail but u sir r a badass!!! I'm subscribing to your page...I work lots so if I do a vid or pics of my B4 and after it will be like 4 months from now
love it. turned out great, wish we got footage of you actually getting the vinyl around the curves and edges of the box and taking wrinkles out, rather than a short edit
I've been looking forward to this one. Very, very nice work! Is there anything special you do to prepare the mdf for the adhesive? Also, I'd like to see some detail on how you cut & wrap the tight inside and outside corners and how to best make and/or hide a seam when needed.
Was any of this 4 way stretch Vinyl? If so, could you provide a link for the black 4 way stretch please? Thank you. (The link you provided just goes to a random "Vinyl" search on Amazon)
i like the fosgate subwoofers but i really like the t-series amps thats why i have two of them and i have a smaller fosgate amp which isnt hooked up but it has great sound too
I wish I had the tools (and the cash lol) to do these amazing things! Could you do a project for awesome enclosures with just "basic" tools most people have or can get for litle? Would be awesome!
+LightsOut Media73 the complaint is usually: "you put in too much effort, that takes too long, that's too hard, that's too expensive" I think few believe in quality anymore
CarAudioFabrication man just about everything is kinda hard until you learn how to do it and do it well,of course it takes long but the outcome will be worth it,keep up the good work,I use to want to do this 20yrs ago but it wasn't for me but I like the craftsmanship of this type of stuff👍🏽
CarAudioFabrication correct. VERY few believe in quality. But far too many want to charge as if they were building the highest quality results. I told someone recently, if you don't have the money for the high quality stuff maybe you should step down in size...not quality. Most of the time you'll spend LESS in the long run by getting better quality over bigger size.
Hi, I need to put two 12" Pioneer TSSW3002S4 subwoofers into my 2 door JK. Do you have any ideas of where to place them? I'm thinking of either the back seat area over the rear wheels or the trunk. What do you think, where would you place them? Thanks!
Super Nice custom box finish. I am inspired to get something like this but with 2 droppin Hertz Hotel subwoofers, 12 inch. Do the grills stop the subs to flex (Xmas)?????
Very Trick looking! This has nothing to do with cabinet finishing, I like to use uninsulated crimp connectors, and I've been searching for a crimper that can do it in one shot. I've been using these for ages, so I've gotten fairly adept at making good connections but there must be a tool that will make the crimp and fold the locks down in one squeeze, do you know of any brand that is effective?
hey man, you forgot to go over how to wrap it around the corners with upholstery vinyl.. is there a video that goes over that detail?? nice looking box
You can use hair dryer fan to easy shape vinyl .that way is much to stretch and easier to shape it.vinyl will drink much glue and will get kind dry 6so when glueing use enough glue so it will be wet
Hi Mark, What is the depth of that rabbet cut on the back sides of the MDF? I'm guessing 1/16"? I'd like to use this technique to wrap some speaker baffles in tolex (vinyl) with contact cement, and I'd like to accurately account for the thickness of cement + vinyl. Last question... does the home center grade of DAP weldwood (red can) work well enough for indoor projects? That Landau cover cement is $50 for a gallon, and I will not need an entire gallon of the stuff. Thanks for sharing your process!
HELP, PLEASE HELP!!! Im trying to upgrade my system in my vw t5 van, i have a d,din pioneer, rockford fosgate speakers front and rear, so my problem is that ive added a fosgate mono block amp with 2x8"vibe subs. But it sounds crap! How do i work out the volume space for the Box? Im trying to build a box over the rear arch with a fiberglass back! Please help! I use to be into car audio in the 90s, man its reaking my head. By the way, LOVE the work, mans got skills
Great job! I always have a hard time wrapping the inside corners of anything (like the chamfered corners on the amp trim) because of tearing and glue letting go. Any tips for that?
In this video, I noticed you still have your box in pieces, and it isn't fully assembled. Do you allow holes in the vinyl for screw/nail assembly on your boxes? I'm trying to figure out how to do this to my current build, which involves a LOT of different pieces.
You need to think a few steps ahead when it comes to vinyl clearance and how everything mounts together. I recommend fully watching each build I do so you can really see the full process
What's the name of the vinyl used in this video? I don't know the names of vinyls and there are so many "similar" yet different styles, but the texture of this is exactly what I need for the box I'm building...
That turned out great!!! 👌👌👌👌👌

@SoundmanCA none of Marks stuff blows up - even if there is a lot of fumes in this video

what kind of price would this build bring?

One of the nicest boxes I've seen. Thanks for sharing the process.
world class workmanship

You won me back with your more straight-forward video style than the hokey stuff several years ago. Keep it up!
The final result is beautiful!

Top notch job Mark, really worth a week of waiting .. greeting all the way from IRAQ

Turned out beautiful!! Love the black on black with the white accent.
Mark, this box really is amazing. That vinyl really matches the interior of the Wrangler. Thank you creating such awesome videos!
Thanks for the kind words and watching.
Thank you Mark for always being there making each video that much more better and better than the last one. I'm in love with that enclosure
Wow man. You never cease to amaze. Thanks for the time and effort!
Awesome job! I do upholstery professionally and have wrapped quite a few custom boxes/ stereo systems in my day. This came out badass. We share the same level of attention to detail. I hate seeing crappy wrapped boxes, speaker pods and door panels. Keep it up man!
Man I wish we had youtube 10 years ago when I was in this industry. You did an amazing job.
Who would give that a thumbs down! He is like the Chippendale of car audio. Excellent work.
That's turning out really nice. Can't wait to see it installed.
What a great looking enclosure and build video series!
Congratulations to your nice work from Greece!
Wow Fantastic work. Makes a difference when you do great foundational work.

Looking sweet, great work Mark.
Another fantastic install, love the vinyl work..
Like its easy..
Hey Mark, just watched one of your "old" videos - wrapping a woofer. Thank god you grew up and became a professional, lol.
Hey it's a growth experience! Still doing my best to keep growing. Thanks for watching.
wow, that is really well done!
You do clean work. Keep it up!
love it. turned out great, wish we got footage of you actually getting the vinyl around the curves and edges of the box and taking wrinkles out, rather than a short edit
Add a bit of heat.
also relief cuts and alot of smoothing out.
It was probably cut out due to language
that is awesome it looks so neat thanks for sharing this video.all the best for future projects
Wow!!!!! Speechless.
Thank you.
Great job Mark!
This is AMAZING! a fine artist work
Bloody hell that turned out really good, Nice work and thanks for the video
Nice work looks great. Liked and subscribed.
I've been looking forward to this one. Very, very nice work! Is there anything special you do to prepare the mdf for the adhesive? Also, I'd like to see some detail on how you cut & wrap the tight inside and outside corners and how to best make and/or hide a seam when needed.
Excellent friend, I congratulate you from Caracas
Damn Mark, that's like a weeks worth of Amplified right there!
ZING!
You should try the Olfa black ultra sharp blades I use them every day for wall covering install work way better than the silver blades.
WOW...SICK!
That looks Dope!
Was any of this 4 way stretch Vinyl? If so, could you provide a link for the black 4 way stretch please? Thank you.

Nice jub, i like every works
Holy shit. Nice work. Time to step up my game.
I wish I had the tools (and the cash lol) to do these amazing things! Could you do a project for awesome enclosures with just "basic" tools most people have or can get for litle? Would be awesome!
Eternal Genesis get a router and bit set the rest you can do with basic tools
Does it have to be that glue or can the weldwood contact cement in the red can be used?
Damn that shit looks nice. Your vinyl work is top notch!
Thank you
C.A.F Where do you get your black vinyl from
Simple thanks
5 dislikes? That's crazy how can you not like this? This is awesome great job man

Thank you
Do you sell any of these custom subwoofer enclosures?
Welcome to the Fab kitchen
What type of metal was used in that design? that was a nice finish
What backing do you look for when picking the vinyl I am wanting to start doing fab work and stuff on the interior of my truck
Hi,

Super Nice custom box finish. I am inspired to get something like this but with 2 droppin Hertz Hotel subwoofers, 12 inch. Do the grills stop the subs to flex (Xmas)?????
The grill is designed to be a far enough distance away from the subwoofer to avoid contact during full excursion.
Damn I wanna know how much this box would cost if I wanted one!
Very nice job, you make it looks so easy!
WOW, GREAT.!!!!!
This build has been going on for weeks, can't imagine what you must have charged this guy!
well done
I want to buy one of those from you. I really like that box.
Howd you "hide" the vinyl joint for the wrap around on the largest piece???
Damn I watched this one before Soundmans Buddy...coming along nicely...👍🏽
Do you use a 4 way stretch vinyl? Unfortunately your link doesn’t specify what vinyl you use. Thanks
Looks awesome! As for bonding the layers do you just use wood glue and clamping or do you secure each layer using screws?
Very Trick looking! This has nothing to do with cabinet finishing, I like to use uninsulated crimp connectors, and I've been searching for a crimper that can do it in one shot. Great job! I always have a hard time wrapping the inside corners of anything (like the chamfered corners on the amp trim) because of tearing and glue letting go. Any tips for that?
What is the useful volume of the box under the subwoofer? Thanks in advance for the answer :))
at how many d.b this box bumps??
make another video & show that. .
This box isn't designed with SPL in mind, more to sound and look great but we will see in the test video.
CarAudioFabrication oh okay
looking forward to see that video! 😊

Can you make a custom side box like the JL stealth box for 2015+ mustang?
You use a magnet to hold the stensel ????? With the hard base hitting it wont come off
Your amazing
Muito bom .
Brasil .
That shit looks sooo good. Awesome!!
I went to the link for the faux leather it's 40 bucks but doesn't specify how many yards any info?
What's the name of the vinyl used in this video?
I don't know the names of vinyls and there are so many "similar" yet different styles, but the texture of this is exactly what I need for the box I'm building...
probably Marine Grade Vinyl. Go to an upholstery store and look at sample books. There is where you will find what you need.
Really good videos, Good tutorial. Thank's !?////////////////////
DOPE!
